I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Alex Annese and the entire team at Annese DMD. I've been a patient of this practice for many years -- first with his father, and now with Dr. Alex -- and I absolutely love seeing the generational transition of care. It says so much about the heart of a practice. A few years ago, I started clear aligner treatment to correct severe crowding, a chipped tooth, and years of difficulty maintaining proper hygiene because of how crowded my teeth were. My case was not simple, my treatment lasted close to four years but Dr. Alex was patient, thorough, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. He explains everything clearly, has an amazing chairside manner, and truly makes you feel comfortable and confident in the plan. The results have completely transformed my smile. I am beyond grateful. The office staff deserves just as much praise. The team is warm, welcoming, and consistent it's always familiar faces, which says a lot about the work environment and culture there. They worked with me financially to make treatment doable. I paid out of pocket, and they offered flexible arrangements that made it realistic without financial stress. Everything was transparent and fair. In all my years here, I can honestly say I've had maybe one minor negative interaction -- and that person didn't even stay long. Overall, this office runs on professionalism, kindness, and integrity. They do see children for general dental care, which I love but I only wish they offered orthodontic clear aligner treatment for kids as well. If they ever do, my teenage daughter will absolutely be there for the same transformation I experienced. That's how much I trust this team. I've lived in Boston for 10 years and have had such a hard time finding a dentist that I liked and trusted (I've tried many). Annese DMD is such a stand out dental experience that I feel inclined to write a review. The staff is so kind and competent. I've never had a schedule or billing issue and paid way less than I was expecting for a night guard. I like to get my teeth cleaned 3 times a year (instead of the standard two) and every time they make sure to book my appointments in a way that works with my insurance while ensuring I get both cleanings and exams in a year. The hygienists are extremely professional in their communication and skillset. They never gossip/talk in a negative way amongst each other, are always so kind and knowledgeable, and the cleaning I receive is incredibly thorough. I never leave feeling like my cleaning was rushed or like they didn't do enough. They use the pressurized water, then they go in by hand, and then they polish. I've seen both dentists and they are both so kind and thorough and competent and have addressed and fixed any problems I've had. The equipment in their office is very modern and they are very up to date on the latest technologies and research. They check your mouth and tongue for cancer at every cleaning. I find them to be very customer focused in their approach and never try to sell you anything or perform any unnecessary procedures. I have only had one cavity in my life and I had one dentist tell me my mouth is full of cavities (just with a visual exam) and Dr. Annese assured me that was a lie and I just have deep grooves in my teeth. I was experiencing extreme sensitivity in a specific spot and one dentist told me to stop using toothpaste as its abrasiveness was causing my sensitivity and to get surgery for receding gums (and did nothing to help the pain). Dr. Annese explained to me what was actually happening, why a night guard would help me, applied a desensitizer to my teeth that stopped my pain, and explained how to care for my gums and that I was not at the point of needing surgery. Dr. John and son Dr. Alex along with the incredible staff truly make your anxiety & fear low. I was referred by another patient a few years ago after a hiatus i needed some work done From fillings, scaling, root canal etc I'm very pleased with the work and the cutting edge technology. What a fantastic Dentist! I would highly recommend Dr. Annese. Everyone in the office is so nice, the staff is amazing. Mary the hygienist cleans my teeth, and is always gentle , friendly and tells funny stories to keep me entertained and that makes the time go by quickly. I found out I needed a root canal, I was very scared to have it fixed. Not only didn't I feel any discomfort but the time I spent in the office was very short. Parking can sometimes be a little challenging, but it's well worth the trip. I was impressed by the level of technology the office used. I started going to Annese DMD after a coworker recommended, and from when I called to make an appointment I could tell this is an office that really cares about their patients. Dr. Alex has great bedside manner and was sure to follow up on my fillings to make sure that they were done correctly. I've been back for both cleanings, fillings, and a periodontist appointment and each time I have been treated promptly, the whole office is so kind! When I expressed concerns about my gums (hence the periodontist appointment) they assured me that they would not have my undergo any treatment unless it was 100% necessary. I'm updating my review to give it 5 stars because the people at this place are truly amazing. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted with smiles by the front office who make you feel more than welcome. Mary and April are great hygienists and make my teeth feel great by the time I leave. Dr. John along with Susan and Shannon really take great care of you while you're getting work done and it always is great to get a follow up call when you have a big procedure done just to make sure you're feeling ok. I have been going to Dr. Annese for years now and honestly I wouldn't go anywhere else. I hate going to the dentist as it is but I actually look forward to my routine 6 month cleanings to socialize and catch up with the staff. When I go here I'm so comfortable and my experience is always a good one. Absolutely LOVE the hygienists here they make you feel very at ease and they are super friendly (big props to Shannon!) I never experienced any issues with the work I have had done in this office. these people know what their doing! each person is so nice from the receptionist to the dentist, hygienist and dental assistants. the place is small and personable, very clean. they are efficient with your time and with their work! very convenient location close to revere city hall, on a bus line, but plenty of metered parking on broadway or free on the side streets. read more

Dr. Annese broke one of my front teeth because he aggressively took out a post. He never apologized and he didn't give me an option for an implant. I now have more problems with my front teeth because he had to destroy a perfectly healthy canine in order to put in a bridge. I've been at the BU dental school for a year now with a $6,600 dollar bill. He completely ruined my smile and now I have this problem for the rest of my life. I was told from another dentist that because he pulled out my tooth and didn't replace it with an implant my gums will recede because the bone has nothing to hold on to. So I have that to look forward to. I wish I never met him. read more
