I visited this dental office (mind you, it took guts as I have fear) to ask for a quick filling before the tooth took a turn. I told them I couldn't afford all the extras, such as x-rays. They took x-rays. When the dentist finally came into the exam room, she proceeded to call out many numbers 1-2-2-3-3-4-2, etc. She strongly suggested a root-canal. NO. Well, I left there very mad! No filling, no cleaning, nothing ...except a $365.00 bill. Still have the foul tooth. NEVER GOING BACK! read more

This place is the best!!! I was very nervous going back to a dentist as I neglected it while back in college. However all of the staff was so nice and reassuring. They made a great treatment plan and always told me what they were doing/checking in on me. I don't dread the dentist anymore when I go here because I know they will take great care of me. A visit to the dentist has generally always been one filled with anxiety, hope that all is well and unfortunately at times, dread of having to have some work done. I have lived on the South Shore for 6 years now and became a patient ay HDG after my previous dentist in West Newton retired. What keeps me coming back and making the hour or so journey each way is the friendliness of staff, the incredibly clean environment and the positive way that I have always been treated. Dr. Richard and her team have developed a recipe for how to correctly treat patients with respect, dignity and a simple friendly smile. That goes a long way these days. Today I had an awesome experience with a dental hygienist who I had not worked with before. A potentially stressful 30 minutes turned into an educational and funny experience. I wish I remember her name but I'm sure the practice can figure out who it was and recognize her. I will continue to be a patient at HDG for as long as I can commute! read more

To start off, the wait time to be seen was 30 minutes behind schedule. The wait time in the exam room was 25 minute wait. The doctor was outstanding with the great personality in the procedure was pretty much perfect. Recovery on the other hand, with nothing close to perfect. I got an infection from the surgery causing severe pain and swelling for days upon days upon days. I called the office the day after the surgery explained my issues and I was pretty much pushed the side by the nurse as she was very unhelpful and didn't show an ounce of empathy or concern. Did the office ever call me back and see how I was doing? No the answer is no. One of my other dentists opened her office with open arms to help me in my time of need into resolve my infection. I've been coming to Highland Dental for several months consistently to get a significant amount of work done after a lifetime of not being able to care for my teeth properly. I cannot recommend Highland Dental enough! I've been to other dentists that have made me so ashamed and nervous and made it feel like the work i needed to have done was an insurmountable task that i could never accomplish. The entire staff of Highland Dental has been so friendly and knowledgeable, and really made me feel like the work i needed was not only doable but not as terrifying as i once thought. The treatment plan i have with Dr. Roberts is going amazingly and i didn't know i could have the results i currently do. From our 1st point of contact by phone to the actual appointments, the experience was flawless. We hadn't visited for some time and were immediately impressed with the renovated space. The leadership's intelligence is evident in this spacious well-engineered design that takes into account the need for safe distancing. The local artwork is the icing on the cake. I have been to many dentists in my life so far and this place is by far the most friendly, clean, and professional one i have been to. The receptionists are always happy to work around my college schedule and are very nice. My dentist is Dr. Dean Levy and he is one of the nicest gentleman I have ever met. He always puts me first and asks a lot of questions to make sure my dental work is done well and pain free. I would highly recommend this dental group for anyone of any age and personally would recommend Dr. Levy but I'm sure they are all great. read more

They were also very helpful when working with the billing/insurance piece. This place is friendly, efficient and convenient. The whole experience is easy from start to finish. Cleanings are thorough, yet not torturous. The office is up to date and using modern technology. Front desk staff are always great. I've had several cleanings and one cap. My son has had several cleanings. For both of us, this is a huge improvement from where we were going before. read more

When I was little I remember DREADING the dentist, so when it came time to bring my little one I was anticipating tears, tantrums, etc. Not at Highland! The practice is so calm and inviting, and they're wonderful with children. My daughter is as timid as can be, and they got her to gladly open her mouth, and she was happy the whole time! I had 2 cavities filled the other day and the whole experience was great. I'm not a wimp, but I can think of a thousand things I'd rather be doing than having a needle stuck into my gums. I went to a chain dentist office and they said I needed $5K worth of work but it turns out all i had were a few small cavities. Less than a $150 later and I'm good to go. At my last cleaning I saw Jen and Dr. Greenberg who I've never seen before-- Dr. Richard and Vanessa usually treat me, so it can be nerve wracking to see another Dentist/ Hygienist when you've never met them before and love the people who you usually see. My worries were all for not, like everyone else at the practice Jen and Dr. G were PHENOMENAL. I was having a bad day, and I left the office laughing and in a great mood-- they made my day, and I was actually bummed when I realized my next cleaning isn't until January. A few of my co-workers had recommending the highland dental group to me. I have been putting off going to the dentist for way to long and after I had chipped one of my upper front teeth I know I needed to stop procrastinating and make an appointment. My overall experience was very pleasant by all of the staff I had encountered. I will be going back for my scheduled check up and cleaning next May. I should of done this nine years ago. As long as I am living in this area I will be a patient here. This is saying a lot considering I had three cavities and ended up finding out I needed to have a wisdom tooth removed. Then giving a referral to go to Dr Monaldo on the second floor from the North Shore oral surgery group. To set up an appointment to have it removed.
