Yes, this is partly my fault due to the fact that I put it on my calendar incorrectly. That being said, I did not receive a text message (or email, or any other form of) reminder which would of prevented me from missing the appointment. I confirmed with the office staff that my phone number was correct, so I don't know what the issue is with their appointment reminder system. The woman on the phone seemed totally unconcerned and did not offer any apology - I would personally be concerned if text message reminders were not getting to patients. I work in health care and know that no-shows can cause a lot of revenue loss as the physician loses a block of time that day they cannot bill. Seems like I'd be investigating issues with the reminder system if revenue loss could be prevented... Initial review: I recently moved back to Michigan after leaving for nearly a decade. One of the first things on my list was finding new doctors. I had seen Dr. Cetner many years before and remembered I really liked him. Since it had been so long, I was considered a new patient again. I was able to get in to see him in about a month (which, coming from Chicago, is not a bad wait time for a dermatologist at all). A lot of the reviews here were about the front desk staff - I had no issue with them. Yes, they're not overly friendly...but they're not mean. The MA/nurse who roomed me was very friendly. I didn't have to wait long to see Dr. Cetner. As I remembered, he has a great bedside manor. I work in health care and worked with many doctors - some are friendly and personable, while many are not. Dr. Cetner is definitely one of the good ones. He always throws a few non-medical related questions about your life in and then gets down to the skin-related stuff. My visit was very basic - just renewing some prescriptions - but it was fast and efficient. I was probably there for no more than a total of 30/40 minutes. I left happy and will be back to see Dr. Cetner for any skin-related issues I may have!

My daughter went in for her first visit, and she had to put her debit card in because she didn't have my HSA card (we didn't know about the policy). I called billing, waited on hold for 15 minutes to be told I couldn't replace the billing method with the central office, I had to do it at the office and they transferred my call. I was then told I couldn't replace the card without coming into the office and doing it in person. Have I travelled back in time? It's ridiculous, the office staff is ridiculous. The actual office phone numbers are not available on line anywhere, only a central office. It's unfortunate that a good office has gone so far downhill.

And sometimes you just don't want to wait so a different location and a little further drive can be worthwhile. After about a 10-15 minute wait I was called back into an exam room where I answered the questions by the nurse and then waited another 5-10 minutes to see Dr. Tisack. Once she came in, she listened to my description of the condition, examined my scalp, confirmed the condition, prescribed the medications needed, and had the prescriptions sent to my pharmacy for pickup. She asked me if I had anything else or any questions, I did not. Dr. Tisack has a pleasant and professional manner with patients and, in my somewhat limited experience, comes across as knowledgeable and confident.

My wait time has always been short where the receptionist and staff have been very professional and courteous. Dr Kerwin though is the shining star of this business where he is always very friendly, upbeat and has a very nice casual and approachable attitude which I greatly appreciated. I barely know the man but we have had such friendly discussions where we trade grand parenting experiences/notes where the general discussion always puts you at ease and relaxed as he does his thing. Relative to his service, he does a very thorough job when doing the skin cancer screenings and advises you of the findings and if there is anything to be concerned with. The last time I was in I asked him to remove a mole near my eye, where he told me that it was not cancerous and was personal choice if I wanted to pursue where he would gladly do it. In an age where people try to talk you into unnecessary procedures just so they can run the insurance tab up, speaks volumes for his integrity and was greatly appreciated by me. Overall, I have been very satisfied with the service I have received here and Dr Kerwin in particular, where I will continue to give them my business in the future.
