Update: Taking off one star due the the fact that I did not get a reminder at all for my 6 month follow-up appointment and ended up missing it. Yes, this is partly my fault due to the fact that I put it on my calendar incorrectly. That being said, I did not receive a text message (or email, or any other form of) reminder which would of prevented me from missing the appointment. I confirmed with the office staff that my phone number was correct, so I don't know what the issue is with their appointment reminder system. The woman on the phone seemed totally unconcerned and did not offer any apology - I would personally be concerned if text message reminders were not getting to patients. I work in health care and know that no-shows can cause a lot of revenue loss as the physician loses a block of time that day they cannot bill. Seems like I'd be investigating issues with the reminder system if revenue loss could be prevented... Initial review: I recently moved back to Michigan after leaving for nearly a decade. One of the first things on my list was finding new doctors. I had seen Dr. Cetner many years before and remembered I really liked him. Since it had been so long, I was considered a new patient again. I was able to get in to see him in about a month (which, coming from Chicago, is not a bad wait time for a dermatologist at all). A lot of the reviews here were about the front desk staff - I had no issue with them. Yes, they're not overly friendly...but they're not mean. The MA/nurse who roomed me was very friendly. I didn't have to wait long to see Dr. Cetner. As I remembered, he has a great bedside manor. I work in health care and worked with many doctors - some are friendly and personable, while many are not. Dr. Cetner is definitely one of the good ones. He always throws a few non-medical related questions about your life in and then gets down to the skin-related stuff. My visit was very basic - just renewing some prescriptions - but it was fast and efficient. I was probably there for no more than a total of 30/40 minutes. I left happy and will be back to see Dr. Cetner for any skin-related issues I may have! read more

I have been going to Associate Dermatology for about 10 years. I think sometime last year they implemented a new policy of putting a credit card on file in advance of your appointment. My daughter went in for her first visit, and she had to put her debit card in because she didn't have my HSA card (we didn't know about the policy). I called billing, waited on hold for 15 minutes to be told I couldn't replace the billing method with the central office, I had to do it at the office and they transferred my call. I was then told I couldn't replace the card without coming into the office and doing it in person. Have I travelled back in time? It's ridiculous, the office staff is ridiculous. The actual office phone numbers are not available on line anywhere, only a central office. It's unfortunate that a good office has gone so far downhill. read more

The good the doctors and PA's are excellent. The bad news is the payment policy put in place by the DOCS (Owned by a private equity company) requires you to leave your credit card# on file and I don't agree with that or put a $100 deposit with them. This policy needs to be dropped!!!! read more

If you're looking for lip fillers, this is the place. I have been coming back every year for the last 3 years. Doctor Cetner and the staff are wonderful. I also had some sun spots on my face that he treated and love the results. I had previously tried IPLs at 2 different spas but neither one worked. I highly recommend doctor Cetner. He's incredibly thorough, always takes the time to listen to and consistently provides high-quality care. read more

Be advised, if you visit Associated Dermatologists you will likely wait for at least an hour and a half (in the exam room) and be seen by a physician for ~10 minutes. Very disappointed that I had to walk out of the office without being seen today. It's unfortunate that they overbook their physicians and put profit before patient care. On the way out of my exam room, I found my physician talking with a medical sales rep rather than addressing the queue of patients. This comes as no surprise since they were sold to private equity and as we know, private equity does not care for their patients. read more

Dr. Cetner is great. Never feel rushed when we see him and he is very thoughtful about his approach to treatment.

So apparently only fair skin people ( meaning white) are ok to receive laser treatment on commerce location. I went in today for a consultation because I was interested in laser hair removal. The esthetician who consulted with me was not interested at all in providing me With information . She told me I was too dark to get treatment with the machine they have at that location to try somewhere else. First time hearing that. I'm Latina , olive to fair skin , didn't consider myself that "dark" skinned. But anyways , I believe I should had been treated differently. So disappointed because I've been there before . read more

The PA that was working with is absolutely fantastic...super knowledgeable and very professional. The front office needs to get their s@#t together. Over the course of a couple months, I had a few appointments get cancelled (one while I was pulling into their parking lot) and last week, I sat in the lobby 30 minutes past my appointment time and was only told "I have no idea why they are running so late" by the office staff. I had to reschedule and leave in order to make a work conference call on time. The rescheduled appointment was today...they cancelled on me. I'm done...moving on to a new practice. read more

I love Dr. Dorman, the dermatologist that I see. The office staff, however, could use an overhaul. I called several weeks ago asking for a prescription. I called several times since they did not call the prescription in to my pharmacy. I finally went to the office and inquired as to why. I was told that since I was already on one skin prescription, they would not write a prescription for the medication I was requesting. That explanation was reasonable, but the fact they never called me to let me know the situation was intolerable. I had to do my own detective work to figure out why the prescription was not called in to the pharmacy. I called last week for another prescription refill. I was very specific in that I mentioned the name of the medication twice, slowly and completely reading the label off the medication. Again, no call from the clinic telling me that "they already called the prescription in last February." I checked my pharmacy online and found that, indeed, they called in a prescription in February but it was for a different medication. Same name, but different type and different concentration. I am so sick and tired of doing their work for them. Why bother to have the patient state the medication name is they are not going to bother making sure that the request is properly filled out. I am so very disappointed in the staff. I love my doctor, but they need to have a serious talk with office staff/nursing/medical assistants to improve the quality of service that they offer the patients. read more

Don't go here. My visit was in July and I just received my medicine in late October. Why? Because the office staff wouldn't respond to the prescription from the pharmacy. The pharmacy sent it many times. The only response I've received from the office staff was a call to "put me in my place" and tell me all the things they couldn't do instead of how they could actually help me. They're not only unhelpful but also rude. If they lived one day in my skin or any of their patients skin I bet they would be more attentive. The office staff here is absolutely horrible and they just don't care. Look at the reviews, this isn't something new. Choose a different place to go. You won't regret it. read more

It's unfortunate I'm giving this place a 1 star because I've gone to the same doctor for years and she's wonderful, but I can say I will never be coming back. They need to reevaluate their front office staff. I have never been treated so rudely by a medical facility. I live an hour away and had to jumpstart my car so I called to let them know I would be 5-10 minutes late. The front office associate proceeded to tell me it "wasn't her fault" that I had car issues this morning and I would need to reschedule because I was dipping into the doctor's lunch hour, even after I told her it was urgent and needed to be seen today. Get better receptionists and maybe you won't lose customers. read more

Absolutely love Dr. Cetner. He's friendly, caring, takes time explaining things, and makes you feel comfortable. His PA is great, as well. Dr. Dorman is good, doesn't spend as much time with his patients as Dr. Cetner, but he's nice enough. The front desk staff is not my favorite. I completely understand how busy they get sometimes, but when you are standing there because one of them has called you up there, then they absolutely ignore you for a good five minutes, it's odd and uncomfortable. But I'd go there a million times over just for Dr. Cetner. He's the best. read more

Had an appt last week. The ladies at the front desk totally ignored me. Honestly they just would not look up and then they walked away from the desk. Finally I was called up. My appt was for 2:30. I was called back, At 3:15 the DR still had not walked in or anyone said the DR is running Late. This is not expectable. My time and your clients time is just as important as yours. So I walked out. More people need to do this at DR's office. 45 min and no DR. Not a way to run a business. So sad to, I was recommend to come into this place. People say he's great. Let me say this I have been going here for years! I love the doctors, physician assistants and their medical assistants. I have to say that the only reason I don't rate this a five is because the receptionist are often crass and abrupt. This is making an appointment over the phone or in person. They barely look at you or even make eye contact. I think they forget that a lot of people come in here feeling vulnerable and looking for some relief. The lack of empathy is astounding. I would also like to say that I referred someone to them in the past and they gave them the wrong date and my friend came over an hour away. Shame on them. Let me be clear the doctors and medical staff are what is carrying this business but isn't it up to the medical providers to ensure an overall quality experience for their customers?!! read more

Drs and PAs are great, but front office staff is horrible. I called to make an appointment and Kiersten was so rude to me for absolutely no reason. When I asked for her name, she hung up on me, so I called back and asked and she told me her name and was suddenly really friendly. On another occasion, I went in for my son's scheduled appointment and they said it had been canceled. I never cancelled the appointment. No problem, I just left work early and drove an extra 15 miles to pick up my son to get him there. We will be looking elsewhere. read more

Very dissatisfied. Treated very poorly over 20 copay did not know was due. Slammed with balance as I signed in. No apology from staff for rude treatment and did not take responsibility for their lack of judgement and clerical problems. Unable to trust this practice to do medical procedures based on the callous and unnecessary harassment I received by office staff. Completely unprofessional in my humble opinion. Both Dr. Cetners are wonderful, but the front desk staff & schedulers are so unfriendly! I have been a patient at the Commerce office for many years & the front desk & scheduling staff seems to be getting worse & worse. I have had appointments scheduled completely wrong & they are very unfriendly when you call to schedule appointment. The last time I was in the entire waiting room was listening to the front desk girls talk about how busy they were & hate it, followed by rolling eyes at someone on the phone. I am reconsidering switching doctors because I am tired of dealing with the unfriendly support staff. read more

I've never been to a dermatologist before and my appointment was with Dr. Aaron Cetner. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and the 2 ladies at the desk were super friendly. The assistant who called me back (I don't recall her name) was just as friendly. I sat in the waiting area for 10 minutes at the most. Dr. Cetner walked in, introduced himself and shook our hands. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, gentle, and honest. All of our questions were answered and I will definitely be back and will highly recommend him to everyone I know. Thank you Dr. Cetner. You and your staff rock!! read more

Commerce office: The Dr is absolutely wonderful! The front desk staff on the other hand definitely is not! One female in particular was extremely rude. She needs personal training on how to be professional talking to patients. Not going into detail as I am personally going to discuss this manner with the office manager.
