We were lucky enough to find a porter to take us there from the port for 25 Euro; because we would never have found the Hotel DO Pozzi otherwise! (Plus we had a ton of luggage since we were going on a cruise, and it wasn't easy getting the luggage through the uneven streets that were bustling with tourists! We did it ourselves after checkout; but it took 2 trips!) The hotel is very old, but seeing as many of the buildings around here are 800 years old all of the hotels are old and historic. Our room was clean, and the bed took up the entire space. It was basically a bed, small desk, small closet, mini fridge, and bathroom. The decor was minimal but everything was clean and the bathroom had all the necessary amenities. The bed was not huge; but big enough for 2. The bed and pillows were also basic, and not super-soft; but my husband and I were both able to get a good nights sleep. Once we were in the room it was very quiet. Our room was not ready upon arrival, 12:30; and check in was 1:00. The gentleman at the front desk offered to store our luggage for us. We had really been hoping to get into our room because we had been on planes and the vaporetto for almost 20 hours and we really wanted to rest & freshen up. We did find a very cute little bar/restaurant a few steps away and we had a drink and snacks before heading back to the room. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a view of the street of shops/cafes. There was a teeny-tiny elevator with just enough room for 2 people and their luggage. We thought the hotel came with breakfast; but since we booked through a travel site, it didn't. That was fine because there are tons of little cafés within walking distance. Overall everything was fine. I wouldn't recommend staying here for an extended period of time though, or with a lot of luggage. It is a pleasant Venetian hotel, and the friendly staff speaks English; however there is nothing spectacular about it.

We had a good experience, and were able to beat the crowds in the morning due to our being located so centrally.

For instance there are no USB charging plugs and there are no adapters in the room. Also there is no shampoo, conditioner, lotion or tissue in the room. Is that a prerequisite for a star or something? There's a speaker on the wall that started static-ing while I was trying to sleep. It took me forever to figure out that the light above the TV only went off when you pushed the desk in. And there is this crazy ass tulip looking thing in the bathroom that in the 80s might have been a cool focus lamp for tweezing my whiskers, but now is just in my way. Also the shower is hella dangerous. It's no surprise that it has a bunch of holes to take a Jacuzzi bath, which is the grossest thing in the world to do in a hotel but, I digress.... I didn't love the breakfast, maybe because some people have no idea how to politely use a Buffet. You don't pick up the food with your hands or scrape food off of a serving spoon with your thumb. But that's the tourists' fault for being tacky, not the hotel. I love the location. It's away from the hubbub, but close enough to get to everything you want to see.

Nespresso machine on the 1st floor and awesome breakfast included. Staff was super helpful with connecting to the airport about our lost luggage. Always willing to help give you directions and find exactly what you are looking for. They helped us to arrange last minute transportation to Ravenna aswell! Albergo Antico Capon is located in one of the best of these Campos or plazas - the Campo Margarita. And Not only is the location a prime one, but so is the service and the food. Regarding the location, it is so centrally located that when we visited were entertained as we sat at the tables outside by the graduating classes of Doctors from the university. Their chants of "Doctore! Doctore!!" filled the air with such joy and enthusiasm that we couldn't help but welcome a couple of the students and their friends over to our table and invited them over for a couple of drinks! All in all, stop at Albergo Antico Capon if you're visiting Venice, and Campo Margarita. It's the perfect location to grab a bite, get a drink, and enjoy the magnificent view and life of the plaza!

It is plenty spacious and has all the modern technology with light controls etc. We took a private water taxi to the hotel which can be arranged. Alternatively you can take the vaporetto public transportation and walk a short distance. When we arrived they had champagne and an assortment of nuts on a tray. The breakfast which is included is made to order each morning and can be enjoyed on the private fourth floor terrace for guests only, in your room, in the lounge... basically anywhere in the charming house. They arranged everything to our specifications and the concierge took great to arrange transport, meal reservations etc. After this stay, we wouldn't dream of booking another hotel in Venezia. It is the quintessential experience for travelers looking for luxury with an understated elegance in a convenient and local spot across from the tourism craziness.

The staff is extremely accommodating and always welcoming us as we come and go. They help with all of our bags and everything we needed during our stay. The room was large especially for Italy and European hotels. It had a huge closet and large bathroom. The bed was wonderful and comfortable with fluffy down pillows and comforter. There was a welcome treat left for us with some special cookies. The mini bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. The bathroom has a walk in shower, big vanity and mirror and toilet plus bidet. The best feature was the towel heater! Not only does this dry your towels quickly but the warm towel as you step out of the shower is divine! All toiletries are provided including little extras like toothbrushes and shower caps. There was a hair dryer as well. The bathroom was well appointed. There is no detail left out at this hotel. The customer care is exceptionally good. They ensure every detail and comfort is provided. They are always willing to call water taxis and provide recommendations for dining. The lounge and bar are also lovely and they take exceptional care of guests. This will be our go to hotel chain especially this hotel in Venice for the lavish experience. Everything here was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

My biggest issue and reason for my 3 stars is mostly based on the fact that I could/would not stay more than one night. We had a view of a wall and it was a struggle to even get to the window to look out. I didn't want to spend time in the room due to the fact that with no light coming in the room was dark. Not what I pictured my night in Venice to be. Others in our group had a similar lack luster view. Make sure you request a room with some kind of view. Breakfast was from 7 to 10am...we missed our "free" breakfast as we had to leave by 7am for the airport. They hotel provided a "breakfast to go" bag which was quite nice. I was impressed with that. The room has an Italian decour with gold and red colors. Shampoo and hand soap in pump bottles not individual containers. Coffee machine was excellent. Bidet in each room. Bed was comfy enough but I have had much better. Short walk to great cafes, restaurants and stores. 25 min walk to the heart of Venice. Depending how you go to airport (water taxi, car, bus and water taxi) I would say approximately 35 min. Hotel lobby is very nice, smaller than expected, and water and apples upon checking in. If I returned to Venice I personally would stay elsewhere.
