Small pork pie's pastry had some slightly overburnt and had spots, but it was crispy overall. The filling was seasoned nicely, but could use a bit more gravy or juice. The blackberry sundae with ice cream was nicely done, silky texture ice cream, sundae was rich in blackberry flavor. Other elements provide a diversity of mouthfeel, but I felt some of them were a bit of nuisance as their textures sometimes did not feel harmonized together.

The kicker though were those little croutons floating on top. That brown bread actually got better. I wish I had more. They also make fresh desserts there and I broke down and had a toffee banana tart with fresh whipped cream. Wow. I ate it in small pieces to extend the savoring experience. There are also roulades and other tasty looking fresh desserts and the breakfasts people were eating looked great!

You walk in and you feel right at home. You can tell that everything is made from scratch and most likely DOES come from a farm nearby. Though we're not big dessert people, the Irish seem to love it and there is a huge table of desserts right in the front of the restaurant that beckons you. We caved and ordered the creamiest, most decadent and lovely lemon pie tart that I have ever had. I am pretty sure they must add cream to the filling just for fun. It was cutely decorated in St. Patrick's Day decoration & it had a home-feel to the regular decor. We were greeted by a waiter who seated us and gave us the pre-fixed menu. Oddly enough, I ordered the Chicken Curry, I gave my chicken to my friend. I was on a curry-obsession while in Ireland, don't ask me why. It was yummy as we were STARVING! It wasn't bad. Both of us had the cornation chicken, which is a spiced chicken breast in curry mayo with spinach, almonds, mango and sultanas - it was delicious. It's served on fresh made brown soda bread too, and a lovely side salad. They also serve desserts and coffees. The meringue nest is fresh and very delicious, with cream/fruit. I like the cappuccino more than the lattes here. They also have fresh baked goods, so we took some scones to go, which were also delightful with some tea in the evening. If you are ever driving through, definitely stop for lunch, it has a nice vibe.

It was a lovely place to spend Sunday lunch. We were first led to the drawing room to wait for our table, and we ordered there. The choices were lamb cooked right there on the drawing room fire, cod and pumpkin. Between us we had all three, along with the appetiser buffet and selection of desserts and cheeses. It was incredible pleasant and relaxing to dine in this beautiful house, with top notch service and delicious wine. Afterwards, we strolled around the grounds and took in the late autumn surroundings along with a hoard of friendly dogs. There's so much to see and explore. We tasted some mulled house cider spiked with their own apple brandy, the perfect drink for a crisp November day. It was really just a wonderful experience overall.

I recently shot a wedding at Longueville house. It has so much character to it…read more It is a family run place and has so many ornate features to look at. There is a lot of land to stroll around and it's so peaceful. Watch out for all the dogs running around. They're deadly ;) I was lucky to eat at this place also and was treated to the same main course as the wedding party which was beef. All round great experience at Longueville :)
