This is a review of their pub only. We seated in their terrace area. We went for a beer, a margarita pizza and fries. Good place to hang out and relax. The beer (Rockshore) was great. The pizza and fries were good. Fries were not seasoned at all which was a bit weird - don't know if it's common in Ireland. The service was a bit slower but it was okay since we were not in any hurry. The staff was good - won't say friendly though. Not if the person attending us was just having a bad day. What an amazing spot on our day excursion from Edinburgh to Blarney Castle. This spot was walking distance from the castle entrance. Pro tip.... We got our tickets (from our tour guide) then went and ate lunch and back to the castle to walk the grounds. We highly recommend this spot for the ambiance, top notch service and welcoming atmosphere and of course the absolute delicious food!!!! If we ever find ourselves back in the area we will for sure stop in! If you have allergies, specifically gluten free needs, I highly recommend! As one with celiac traveling out of the country I was so thankful to find a spot that was knowledgeable and had menus items that worked for my allergy needs!!! This is just a lovely restaurant to go and be around wonderful fun loving Irish and everyone else (like tourists) but to also enjoy the good food, lively, happy and fun loving banter and catch a live music show (usually on a weekend and other occasions.) The service is johnny on the spot and the bartenders are welcoming with humorous slogans and stories. There's plenty of room inside the front of the restaurant as well as all along the sides and the back. The further back you go the less you want to know of the front. It's kind of cozy and sweet. So, come on out the next time you're in Blarney, County Cork. It's a lovely town, and inside is so colorful with songs, stories, decor and all sorts of delicious foods and libations. I don't really think I can give the Muskerry Arms Pub & Restaurant a fair rating since we only went there for one reason. We had visited the Blarney Castle and Muskerry was only about a block away. We went in, were told we could sit anywhere and we stated that we just came in to get a pint. You see, my great-grandfather came to America from Cork County, Ireland and we wanted to raise a wee pint to him and me sainted mother. We told the proprietor that and he welcomed us. Our orders were a Guinness, a Heineken and two Murphys. After getting our orders, we raised our glasses and said "Slainte" and drank to everyone's health in the pub. No one rushed us along and we were able to sit and enjoy our pints. Would I come back here? Of course I would, it's a true Irish pub. And that's the way it is. On a side note, I will be forever grateful to me great-grandfather for coming to America and giving me the life I now have. read more

Food was really good. I ordered the Irish stew and it was very flavorful. My boyfriend enjoyed his panini, too. Didn't order drinks cause I was not feeling well. The only problem is that the service here just absolutely sucks. Had to flag a bus boy down for the bill after the waitress failed to visit for half an hour and even after they brought the bill, no one came to actually take our card even though we stood around for 10 minutes after waiting another 10 minutes. The waitress even walked up to the table next to us to take their bill, and they showed up way after and didn't ask for their bill, completely ignored us. Best roast beef and mash stew EVER! We stopped in here after kissing the Blarney Stone, and frankly - we expected merely average food. We were pleasantly surprised! The pub is a comfortable place to dry off on a wet Irish day, and it has several small nooks and crannies for privacy. Nice touch. Service is reasonably prompt, and our drinks were great. Cokes, Jameson, ice water, etc. delivered correctly. Best of all; the Roast Beef & Mash Stew was meaty - flavorful - with both roasted and mashed potatoes - veggies - and was OUTSTANDING. Best ever. Stopped in after a visit to the Blarney Castle; they have a decent variety of meal choices-and lots of variety in seating. We snuggled into a booth; the staff were pretty busy, and therefore weren't friendly. They started off telling us we had to eat fast, they had larger parties with reservations coming soon, but then they completely ignored us for awhile..yet later were rushing us. We were ready to go, ready to eat, so the delay was on their part-wish they didn't treat us poorly as a result. Otherwise, the food was good. I settled on Corn Beef and Cabbage; really great seasoning, nice fluffy potatoes, and juicy corn beef. I also got an Irish Coffee, which had a really smooth nice tingle to it :) The prices are reasonable; it's a good lunch spot-just try to catch them on a less crowded time (but this did not impact the quality of our food-just service) read more

This place was close to where we were staying so we decided to try it for dinner. Sat for a while, then decided to go to the bar and order our drinks since no one acknowledged us. They used instant coffee for my Irish Coffee which made for the worst coffee I had all week. Ordered the beef stew for dinner as I read several positive reviews. It was large and pretty good, but not the best ever. Nice place for a drink and bar food. A few decent tvs to watch sports. read more

Muskerry Arms Pub is a nice little find if you're looking for something to eat around Blarney Castle. Service is friendly and they seem to have a good amount of seating, both upstairs and downstairs. Parking might be an issue but we were lucky enough to snag a parking spot right in front of the restaurant (note that you don't need to pay on Sundays!). Here's what we had: Guiness Stew: The stew was solid. Nothing bad to say about it but it wasn't anything special. Paired well with a Beamish stout. Prawn Salad: I expected a salad with shrimp. What we received were fried shrimp with some leaf decorations lol. Look at the pic to see how misleading the name sounds ... Wings: Surprisingly this was my favorite dish. The wings had a sweet bbq flavor to them and were really tender. Is this what farm fresh wings are supposed to taste like? Anyway, we had an enjoyable lunch at the restaurant. Do note that if you order an entree, they provide you with a free "baby bowl" which was mashed potatoes, gravy, and carrots. My daughter seemed to enjoy it as much as I did :-P read more

Solid 4/5, even though it's in a touristy town (next to Blarney Stone / Castle)...it's a nice non-touristy local pub with great local food. Great service, friendly to traveling foreigners, fairly reasonable prices. Give it a try (try the beef stew and locally-made ice cream sundae). My dad and I stumbled upon this neighborhood pub at the suggestion of our B&B. Well the tip paid off. Local families and friends sharing a pint...local live music (schedule on the wall)...extensive beer on tap, gin, whiskey list, great pub food and local (high quality) fare...we couldn't ask for anything more. Free parking lot for customers is hidden around back (small street to the right of the pub), and a back door to the rear of the restaurant. Try this lovely pub out for a wonderful experience and great food/drink. Don't automatically assume it's a tourist trap. Oh, and try the amazing locally made ice cream Sundae! Yum!! read more

We originally went in as a quick spot to grab some food after a long day of walking. Everyone was very friendly, and the ambiance was quite nice! The fish and chips of course is the star of the show! It was delicious and filling. The restaurant is in a great location in town also, right near the bus line and a park. The only downside is the differences of the online and in person menu. We scouted it out before hand, and the menus online has many more mains that they no longer have, which was a bit of a bummer. Saying that, what we did order was delicious as I said, but it was a twist to be ready for if you are the type of person who checks before they go to a new spot. read more

Also, they have darts and we played for hours until the place was sold out of said ciders and I had the best time with friends. BUUUUTTTT (It's a big but)...the food was so bad. Like no one at my table of 6 people got anything edible bad. The curry dish smelled so terrible, we picked it up and carried it across the room (as our waitress was MIA the entirety of our dining experience). We walked here from our B&B. Not like any other pubs in Ireland. Menu called it the best fish in town. Unfortunately the fish is frozen and not fresh like any other pub located 25 minutes outside the Blarney area. Fish had a fishy taste, not neutral like fresh fish you find in any Cork pub (or any other pub we have hit south of Limerick from Galway to Dublin). Raw, greasy batter pulled the skin off the fish and congealed my fries. Chef told wait staff to tell us that there was. I thing wrong with the dish because the fish was cooked prior to entering the pub. Recommend leaving the Blarney area to get back to good, fresh, high quality food and service. read more

While this place is full of local fun we visited tonight and really felt ripped off. We purchased 2 drinks and was charged 33e. We had dinner at Christy's with a bottle of wine and paid less than double that. So a full meal at 72e and 2 drinks at 33e I say stay at the hotel and enjoy your evening. First bad experience since we have been in Ireland. Everywhere else has been so friendly and charged a fair price. Guess they are making up for COVID. read more

I'm currently staying 2 nights here and have eaten here 3 times and I have to say that my experience has been an absolute pleasure! The staff here are above and beyond friendly and show very warm hospitality. They provide prompt service but at the same time there's no sense that they are rushing you out of the door. My stay was in a comfortable 2-twin bed setup with a wall mounted TV, desk, complimentary coffee and tea, heater, oscillating air tower fan, and all of the necessities you need. The restaurant and bar is just downstairs in case hunger strikes. The staff and bartenders bust their asses to make you feel welcome and make sure your stay or dining experience is enjoyable! The meals I had are as follows: * Fishermans Seafood Chowder and coffee - €13.95 + €1.95 - it was delicious and filling, the garlic bread is a SO TASTY! Their coffee is really good and I've tried MANY different kinds of coffee, it is like a blend of coffee and chai which is surprisingly VERY TASTEFUL. * Tuna Sandwich w/ butter and a coffee - €7.95 + €1.95 - The sandwich was delicious and hit the spot for me. (I had my tuna sandwich with butter rather than mayo, but I would go back and get the mayo, only for the reason that it would be less dry with more of a moist mixed texture, my mistake for not clarifying with the waitress. * Beef & Vegetable Stew and a coffee - €12.95 + €1.95 - It was delicious! Just perfect for what I envisioned for dinner! The serving size is generous with 2 large scoops of mash potatoes. And, as you can tell, I REALLY REALLY like their coffee.
