I'm in Texas & my friends are in Georgia, I needed flowers to be delivered to congratulate them on their new baby! After countless online searches & unanswered phone calls to local florist shops in Augusta, Ga done through the "almighty" Google, I got no where but frustrated! I then moved my search to my all time fave Yelp & got a florist to answer my call & take my order over the phone!!!! This made me very happy of course, Cindy was extremely helpful over the phone & was a solution to my kind gesture turned into a problem; she could get me a floral arrangement & delivered same day too! Fascinating! I'm an internet marketing specialist by profession & although this shop presently has no website, pictures on their business listing on Yelp, nor ratings & reviews....they answered my call!!!! Not only did they answer my call we worked around getting my needs met through texts & problem solved! Too many businesses flood the internet & spend a lot of "marketing dollars" trying to get in front of customers online but fail terribly when it comes to actually communicating with consumers by not answering their phone lines. I love Yelp & the internet of course, it simply gives a small local business a somewhat even playing field with bigger businesses & major national chains. Today was another testament of why I prefer to shop local even when I'm not locally present in the same city as the business I'm doing business with!
