We found Anointed Births less than a month before our daughter was born. After a few stressful conversations with my provider, we felt like we would really need some support in the room with us. But hiring Anointed Births came with a whole lot more than support on the day of our daughter's birth. Even in such a short time leading up to our daughter's birth, Elizabeth and Katarina were so very helpful! The first time we met in person was for our prenatal meeting and we walked away feeling so equipped and prepared for the birth experience - 100% more equipped and prepared than after my many doctor appointments combined. My husband and I completed the hypnobirthing course with Elizabeth and it was so much more helpful than I could have expected. My birth went very differently than planned (as it likely often does) but because we covered so many helpful topics in the class, I felt prepared for plan B, C, etc. The course meditations are helpful to mentally prepare you beforehand. I also listened to the meditations during different times of labor and used the breathing techniques as well. Even if your labor goes differently than planned, this course will still be beneficial, at least that was the case for me. Elizabeth is so caring and helpful, she has answered questions for me and provided recommendations that have made my journey as a mother easier. She was my doula for my homebirth earlier this year.  She played a huge role in my labor and birth and I truly could not have done it without her.  Our prenatal visits were informative and fun; she made it so easy to create a birthplan. TL;DR - We had a wonderful experience with Elizabeth Williams and Katarina Lunde at Anointed Births! This being my first birth, I completely attribute the relatively short length of my labor and doing it completely unmedicated to Katarina's expertise and support. Could not recommend them enough and definitely plan to use them again in the future! The long version :) - My husband and I had an absolutely amazing experience with Anointed Births. We started looking for a doula pretty late into my pregnancy and were on a pretty tight budget. I submitted the contact form and heard from Elizabeth in a very timely manner. She was so kind and encouraging and easy to work with. The timeline and budget did limit our doula options, but she was happy to work within those constraints. She matched us with Katarina Lunde and we were so happy with her! She is a gem! She came to our home for a prenatal visit and was so friendly and easy to talk to. She knew all the right questions to ask and had lots of information that helped us decide on our birth plan. We prayed together at the end of the meeting and my husband and I felt confident that she was going to be instrumental in helping us succeed in the unmedicated birth we were hoping and praying for. We stayed in touch with her between the visit and when I went into labor. She was very helpful with providing information, recommendations for prenatal and labor items to purchase, and adjustments to our birth plan. Once I went into labor we called Katarina and stayed in touch via text, phone calls, and a contraction timer app. She was so responsive, positive, and encouraging! She was at another birth at the time, so she put us back in touch with Elizabeth in the meantime. Elizabeth was also very available through phone calls and texts - and this was all happening from 12:30-6:30am! Once we were in triage my husband remained in close contact with Elizabeth and Katarina. Katarina was still at the other birth so Elizabeth was planning to join us. She was holding off coming until I was admitted to a labor and delivery room so our hours for her services weren't wasted with her sitting in the waiting room. She did suggest positions for me to labor in while we waited and encouraged me to try to rest between contractions. I think that rest early on made a huge difference in maintaining endurance through to delivery. As we were getting admitted to L&D we heard that Katarina was available to come meet us! She drove a couple hours up from San Diego to Orange County! We were so grateful she made that effort to join us since we had already met her in person - although I was feeling just as comfortable if it turned out Elizabeth needed to come instead. By the time Katarina made it to the hospital I was having pretty painful back labor. It was such a relief to see her come in the room! She immediately jumped in and knew how to help me. She had me labor in different positions that relieved my back pain and really picked up my labor. I ended up having an 18 hour labor completely unmedicated! I really believe that having Katarina's help was instrumental in having that short of a labor for my first baby. She was calm, encouraging, and understanding of my needs and requests the whole time. She communicated with nurses as they came in and out of the room and helped me understand what they were saying and suggesting. She also worked really well with my husband throughout the labor. Katarina took some video and photos on my phone as our baby was born! We hadn't talked about that ahead of time, but I am so glad she went ahead and did it! I have gone back and watched those videos many times since the birth and am so, so grateful we have them. I could not recommend Katarina and Elizabeth with Anointed Births enough. We were so pleased with their services and plan to use them again for future births! read more

If there's any doubt of getting a doula.. please read this review. Sorry in advance for this lengthy review (lol) As a first time mom, navigating through this chapter in my life was exciting but often times overwhelming as there was so much information and preparation that I knew was necessary in my dream of having a natural, unmedicated birth, in a hospital setting. I unfortunately did not have any friends or family that were able to provide me with guidance in this type of birth experience, so I prayed prayed prayed, and decided to at least start researching. I learned that there are angels/ aka doulas which, according to research and from my personal experience, are fundamental in achieving this type of birth experience. Let me tell you, I reached out to MANY doulas and although they were all beautiful individuals, when I had my consult with Elizabeth and Katarina at Anointed Births I knew in my heart and spirit that this was the perfect match for the type of birth I longed for and knew I didn't need to search any further :D Prior to even meeting for our consult these wonderful women were so extremely kind and helpful in providing me with resources and answered any pressing questions I had about my pregnancy / birth.. I was amazed at the love and commitment they had to the birth space and how beautiful their hearts were in helping a momma in need. After making the decision to commit to having Katarina and Elizabeth as my doulas, these ladies never disappointed and were SO insightful, honest, loving, and continually were there for me and my spouse every step of the way. I honestly never thought one could feel so much peace going into birth! Guys so my birth.. I will sum it up but it was like a movie! I know everyone's story is different so please don't compare yours to mine but I honestly owe it to God, my spouse and my beautiful doulas prep and guidance for how everything panned out. My labor and delivery was a total of 12.5 hours! From the moment my first surge started, they made me feel confident and at ease knowing that I was prepared for anything that was to come. Fortunately I labored more than half that time at home before heading to the hospital during active labor. Upon arriving at the hospital I decided to have my first cervical check ever (lol) and to my amazement I was already 6cm dilated. I was in complete disbelief but I knew the bulk of the work was completed so we all were excited and worked together in hopes of meeting my sweet baby boy soon! My doulas gently and lovingly guided my husband and myself, were so extremely hands on during my entire labor, and ensured I had the most peaceful and comfortable birth space imaginable. Laboring and birthing a baby is hard work but I felt so prepared and capable in my ability to do so. I am proud to say that I delivered my sweet baby boy according to my birth plan, all while having my dream team and such an empowered birth experience. I'm happy to report that I 110% made the right decision, had the birth of my dreams, and couldn't have done it without these truly anointed and beautiful women of God. As a side note, aside from doula services, I also attended the 5 week hypobirthing course that Elizabeth teaches, which was 11/10- highly recommend pairing with doula services!! I had a baby girl November 2023. My doula was Kayla. She was amazing before labor, during labor, and after birth. She was very informative, nonjudgmental, compassionate, grounding, and invaluable. She assisted me in navigating my birth plan and she was so responsive with any questions I had leading up to my birth. During labor she went above and beyond. She offered me water all throughout the labor, using essential oils, doing countless hip squeezes during my contractions (surges), offering snacks, using a mini and cold wash cloths when I got overheated, and more. Most important to me, she believed in me and my ability to have an unmedicated birth and was so supportive. I felt very comfortable with her. After birth she continued to be supportive and she did a postpartum check in where she came over and brought some goodies. Elizabeth was such a blessing to have alongside our journey from 24 weeks to now postpartum. We stumbled across her page anointed births from an Instagram ad and sent out a message- within an hour we already had a virtual meet and greet scheduled the same day to answer any questions I had about doula care and pregnancy. We wound up signing up for her hypnobirthing course and eventually hired her to be our doula. Hypnobirthing- The course was extremely informative, gave my partner and I confidence in labor and child birth, and also newborn care. We also loved the close proximity with other couples this class had as it allowed us all to connect as friends. Whether or not you hire Elizabeth as your doula, I recommend taking this course with her as she's very thorough and has such a bubbly and fun personality that it makes her enjoyable to be around in general. Doula care- Being my partner and I's first pregnancy, everything surrounding physiologic/ natural birth was very daunting and it's hard to get support when you conclude this is what you're looking for. Elizabeth always had an answer to my questions and concerns and made me feel secure in my choices emotionally and physically. I bothered her via message and phone calls probably more than I should have but she was always there for me and never made me feel like an annoyance to her. She genuinely felt like a lifelong friend since the beginning. The birth of our daughter- fast forward to 40 weeks pregnancy, I was experiencing some complications and had to go in for an unplanned induction. At the start of the process I panicked and started begging for an epidural (which I had long been against) but my partner called Elizabeth and she was there within minutes. She changed the environment immediately to what she knew I wanted and my whole experience changed. I labored unmedicated to 7 cm with her and my partners support. Our l&d nurse (whom at first didn't seem to have high hopes of things working out naturally without pushing pitocin) changed her tone once she noticed things were progressing, and fast. She changed her tone to mimic Elizabeth and even started referring to my contractions as surges. Not only did Elizabeth provide emotional and environmental support during my labor, she also helped change my pads and keep me clean when I wasn't able to do so myself. At one of the most vulnerable times in my life she helped me feel secure and taken care of, and helped to give my partner confidence in helping me as well. We couldn't be more thankful for Elizabeth and everything she did for us to bring our beautiful baby girl earthside. On a side note, her partner Kayla also provides wonderful birth photography which I feel was/ is crucial in helping me process my labor and birth in the postpartum period. read more
