They both did amazingly during my entire prenatal and postpartum timeframe. The actual birth was great too! I went into labor around 2am and they were at my house within the hour! As always, they were so encouraging and helpful during the process. There was a moment when I felt like giving up, of course by then it was too late, but even still they were so supportive! Again I say, I will definitely be calling them again next pregnancy and recommend them over and over.

The ladies at Family Centered Birth embodied everything I was hoping for!! They truly practice informed consent and do the research outside of social media and societal beliefs. I was recommended this midwifery by a outsider doula (that right there says a lot!) While trying to make my decision, I spent over an hour on the phone with Lisa, the office manager and Doula. We had great conversation and I immediately knew it was a great match. Office visits throughout my pregnancy were great. My 3 year old daughter and husband were able to be in the office, we never waited more then 5 minutes to be seen and they took as much time as needed answering any questions. The office is a very comfortable, Laid back atmosphere and yes, Genevieve (the midwife) and one of the student midwifes had their young, breastfeeding babies with them...I personally appreciated this culture and it never took away from my appointment. Midwifery is just that...workin mamas supporting other mamas and their babies! The hubby and I took the 5 week Hypnobirthing course that was included in our midwifery package. The class was taught by Lisa and we absolutely loved it! Keep in mind, we attended a local hospitals birthing course with our first pregnancy, we both agree this was much more valuable! When it came to delivery, Kate was our midwife. We gave her very little notice to make it to our home delivery before baby haha but she got there much faster then I expected. Kate is very calm and reserved but confident in her skill (with over 10 years experience). I was very happy to have her with us! Our son was born in the comfort of our home, in a birthing tub with my 3 year old daughter in the water with me the whole time and my hubby and mom at my side. This means a lot because we are in the middle of the Covid plandemic and hospitals barely allow the father to be present, let alone other family. We also had Lisa as our doula at the birth. She was a great resource and there for me the second I needed her! She also took the most beautiful birthing pictures that I will forever cherish!! A few weeks Postpartum I had some healing concerns. I text Kate and no questions asked, the very next morning she was at my house to check things out (we live about 1 hour away from here)...you won't find that at any doctors office!! We thank them very much, this birth was literally healing to my soul and a much quicker healing process than my previous hospital birth

At that point we were already 28 weeks pregnant and now had to find a midwife. Jessica was always so compassionate and helpful in answering all of our homebirth questions and concerns. She also invited family members to come to prenatal visits to feel more comfortable about our homebirth decision as well. That was a huge win for us! She took great care of me During pregnancy and each time we got to listen to our little girls heartbeat. I loved that she focused a lot on making sure I was getting great nutrition via food and supplementation to help make sure my body was as healthy it needed to be for delivery. When it came to Labor Day, Jessica's experience definitely prevailed! As I was slow to progress, she knew exactly what I needed to do in order to help Baby along. Her guidance and experience made our homebirth a reality. Her and her assistant were fabulous during our golden hour that we got to spend with our baby girl in our home. They took amazing care for me and the baby. Postpartum visits were so helpful and informative especially as a first time mom. Jessica took care / monitored both me and baby for six weeks. We put our full trust in her for caring for myself, our new baby girl and all our future babies.

I always looked forward to every appointment with her knowing that no matter what I was feeling I would walk out feeling comfortable, supported, and heard. She made my fiancé feel included throughout the process and always made sure all of his questions were answered too! During early labor she was in constant contact with my fiancé to check up on me. Unfortunately I didn't end up having the home birth that I had planned for, but Jessica was by my side every step of the way. When we ended up transferring to the hospital, she made sure to advocate for me, and thankfully, she was still able to be by my side throughout the rest of my labor and delivery. So was so calm, not judgey, and encouraging. Throughout pregnancy, she checked on me and asked how all my prenatals were. She was very professional with the rest of the birth team as well. They spoke very highly of her and her knowledge after meeting her and seeing her at work. She referred me to the best specialist as well for all my aches and pains. During labor, oh my god, I honestly could not have done it without her. She came prepared with a variety of tools to help ease the discomfort, she kept me calm yet energized with hydration and food, helped my husband with setting up our area and get rest. She surprised me with some pictures and notes that I would've never taken myself. She is just so thoughtful and knows exactly what a mom would want. My wife was referred to Julie by a friend, and I cannot express how fantastic the experience was and the relief she brought throughout the pregnancy. Julie had several pre-baby sessions with us, providing valuable insight on the birthing process and what to expect. My wife and her also put a birth plan together and worked side by side during her labor to follow it as much as possible. During my wife's labor, Julie was very nurturing and continuously ensured my wife remained calm and relaxed as possible. The fact that made this experience for me was the reassurance Julie provided me immediately following the birth of or child, during some minor complications my wife had, that everything was going to be ok. This was my first child and I wanted to be as prepared as possible to ensure a good and safe experience. What I appreciate about Sara is that she genuinely cares for her clients and treats them like close friends/family. I never once felt I was bugging her with questions via text or call, leading up to our due date. She has such a calming presence and is so good at reassuring you that you're going to do great. When I went in to labor, on my actual due date surprisingly enough, she was available by phone and text all day as I labored at home. She provided guidance as things started to progress and came over once my contractions really started setting in. Once she arrived, she was on her hands and knees with me, helping me breathe through contractions and stay focused. Shortly after midnight, she accompanied my husband and I to the hospital and wheeled me in as my husband tried to figure out parking (note to all: know where to park prior to labor lol). For the next 3 hours she was my rock in the hospital room, helping to keep me calm, comfortable (as comfy as you can be during an unmedicated birth), and even helped support my husband in advocating for us when things went a little south with the hospital provided laborist. After my son was born she stood right by my side as things were a little chaotic with some complications and I will forever be grateful that I had her there for extra reassurance and support. Once things calmed down she assisted my husband and I in getting settled as we embarked on the newborn journey. A day or 2 after we got home from the hospital, she came to our home to assist with anything I was needing and also hold the baby for a bit so I could get a break. She also lead a conversation to "unpack" the birth and really help me process the whole thing and validate my experience. That was unexpectedly powerful. I cannot say enough good things about Sara. I adore her and appreciate that she still keeps in touch with us even a year later. If you are unsure about hiring her for doula services or even after birth home services, I'm telling you that you won't find anyone better. She is truly a gift. My husband and I also attended a CPR class that she hosted at her home and had the privlege of meeting some of her other clients and her family. She just has such a wonderful community built around her and I feel lucky to be part of it!
