Mackenzie provided me with such great tools and resources to prepare my body and mind for labor including chiropractic and acupuncture care, labor prep circuits, colostrum harvesting, and hypnobirthing tracks. She also met with my husband and I to go over labor prep exercises for when I labor at home. Having Mackenzie by our side helped me to have my dream birth experience! Her calming presence allowed me to tap into a deeper strength I never knew I had within me. Mackenzie was so amazing to have for my husband as well during my birth - they were such a great team of support for me! The care that I received from her was supportive, kind, compassionate and steady. I appreciate how calm and nurturing she is while staying firm in her knowledge of pregnancy, birth, and of a woman's body overall. Her care is holistic and evidence-based, and she makes her clients actual partners in their care. We never did anything that I was uncomfortable with (which is almost unheard of in a hospital birth). She came with us to the hospital and was right by my side as I delivered my son. We hired her again for our second-born son's delivery and she was with me, again, during active labor and at the hospital. We also saw her for a postpartum visit after each delivery. It's been 2 years since we first hired her and we are still friends. I text her randomly with a question and she is quick to reply! I've said this before and i'll say it again--i wouldn't want to birth my babies without Renea by my side!

I had a 36 hour labor with my 1st and an 18 hour labor with my 2nd. Sure, it was my second and you hear that they are usually faster but my labor experience was so much better. Everything I learned about labor from the classes made me much more calm, peaceful, and happy during birth. I had a hospital birth and I felt much more empowered to speak up and stick to my birth plan because of the class. I 100% recommend attending! We were swimming today in a pool and he said, "remember when Miss Joy made me get out of the pool and stand there in front of everyone." It reminded me how terrible she was and I thought I should help people out with a review. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Joy should not be anywhere near children, let alone teaching them. RUN, don't walk away from here with your kids. She lacks patience, kindness, and professionalism. She is skilled at swim instruction, I'll give her that- but NOT with children. She should be an adult instructor only. We had swim instruction with her for several weeks and she was VERY rude and harsh with the kids. We finally had the last straw when My son who was 4 years old at the time, (a Covid baby) and still learning to swim had a moment he has never forgotten. Joy YELLED at him and called him a "brat" when he made too big of a splash getting In the water, she made him get out of the water in front of his peers and stand there cold and crying while she made "an example" out of him. She told the other kids, "see if you misbehave like this boy, you don't get to swim." Thank God my husband stood up to her and told her how he felt as she just let my child cry on the steps. We never went back and didn't even bother asking for a refund as I knew we wouldn't get it.

Lauren was extremely helpful throughout all stages of our baby's arrival, from helping construct a plan, to staying in touch as we neared labor, and being so prompt at the hospital to help in the final stages. She added just the amount of advice and care we were looking for, and shared plenty of insight from her many years of experience on things we wouldn't have even thought of. Hiring Carly was the best decision we made! She worked with me to create a birth plan I was comfortable with and explained options to me since I really didn't know much about the process. She also checked in with me multiple times leading up to the birth and would send me checklists with helpful exercises and other things to help me prepare for birth. Once the day came, my husband texted her, and she arrived at the hospital when we asked her to come. I labored for a long time, and she was there supporting me the whole time! I loved that Carly decorated my room with lights and battery candles. It was so calming especially since I rested for a long time before I started pushing. Creating a calming space was so helpful for me to stay relaxed and rested. She also advocated for me when the nurses would come in and check on me and helped progress my labor with different positions. When it was time to push, Carly was cheering me on the entire time and offered different items to help me feel more comfortable. I was so scared and nervous about birth, but I really believe she made the whole experience a positive one for me. She even reviewed our health insurance to see if we qualified for a free breast pump and recommended a great site to shop from (a site that my health insurance did not disclose to us and only gave us two breast pump options). Sarah made my wife feel comfortable, educated and well-informed during the pregnancy and it was obvious to us that Sarah's heart was with her patients. She loves what she does and it shines brightly through the incredibly warm and nurturing care she provides. The postpartum care my wife and newborn received was top-tier! Sarah has a calming presence about her and it put our family at ease knowing someone with her level of expertise was there. Her gentle, sweet and authentic personality was something my two little boys gravitated towards too. Becky was our doula for both of my pregnancies and labors…read more She is knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. Becky deals with nurses/doctors/midwives in a variety of situations so that you can focus on delivering your baby. After my daughter was born she even went out and got me a cheeseburger. Who doesn't love that?! She also checks up during postpartum.

TLDR: Alix is 10/10; everything you'd want in a doula…read more We started our search skeptical whether we even needed a doula. We interviewed many and without question felt most comfortable with Alix. She was professional, organized, kind, warm. It was clear she took her work and her clients' care seriously. I couldn't name what I was looking for exactly - but with Alix, I felt like we could be friends / she was someone we could enjoy spending time with (which turned out to be an important measure given we spent an intense 17hrs together in the hospital!). Thank the universe we chose her. Alix was mission critical. When I try to imagine my labor without her....I simply can't. I don't know how anyone does it without her. From the second she arrived at the hospital, she brought in wisdom and knowledge that supported me to move through the different phases of my labor - positions, massages, pain management techniques, mindset strategies, tools, etc.. She and my husband shared the load of supporting me physically - no matter how much he would have liked to, with 17hrs of laboring in the hospital, my husband could not have sustained the amount of constant massaging and movement I needed without her. On top of that, she even found time and patience to go to the waiting room to update and calm my worried parents. We shared with her that it was also important to us that, if we needed it, we could have privacy and space as a couple during the intimate experience of childbirth. Alix was completely respectful of our space and was able to find the perfect balance of being a present guide: available when we needed her, and fading into the background when we were in our own rhythm. She is assertive and gentle. When I was lost in my discomfort and feeling nervous to try anything new, she'd be firm and clear in her recommendations, encouraging me to try techniques that might relieve symptoms - she was right every time. She advocated for me to hospital staff and midwives in a collaborative way that they seemed to welcome, presenting ideas, options, and tools that they hadn't thought of to ensure I had the birth I wanted - things that ended up being central to my successful labor. She provided me reassurance whenever I needed it. There were moments where unexpected decisions had to be made and I knew that in Alix I had an expert in the room who was on my side; someone that I could consult with whom I absolutely trusted had my best interest and goals in mind. In moments of doubt, I'd just turn to Alix and she provided the explanation, confidence, or guidance I needed to make informed choices and helped me flex my birth plan to the reality of my labor. She was there with us from start to finish. She was our partner and even though it was a very long day and night, she stuck with us until my baby was with us and we were ready. She kindly took pictures and videos of labor that are now so precious to us. My husband was most skeptical of needing a doula and having someone else in the labor room - here are his own words sent to Alix after our baby was born: "Alix, it was so important to have you there. I always felt so comfortable and safe with you in the room. We couldn't choose a better doula! Thanks for all your support and tips/suggestions you provided throughout the labor process.
