This place is anything but cranky old men complaining about the war. My first experience here was completely surprising. I came for the Friday fish fry with my father and the nugget, who was a baby at the time. During Lent, this place is PACKED with people on Friday nights. I could not believe it. While waiting for my fish to arrive, I got a glass of wine at the bar. I thought I misheard the price...nope I didn't...it was soooo cheap compared to a bar or restaurant. After I bit into a nice meaty piece of fried fish, I was hooked (buh duh cha). The fish fry continues all year long...not just during Lent. Don't like fish, no problem. They have Italian Beef sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried shrimp. The price of your meal also includes coffee, and cake for dessert. You can't go wrong. Don't forget to bring some cash for the raffles. They usually do a 50/50 raffle, and some other thing. For Valentine's Day there was a delicious pork dinner and a band. For St. Paddy's they do a corned beef dinner. High suggested! Tuesday is Bingo and Thursday is wing night. There is almost always something going on here. Check it out!

Between the time you call to inquire about the program until the time you successfully graduate from the program you will feel the professionalism, compassion and love. If entered into the program they will partner you with people who will help you with your career, finances, budgeting, education, health and so much more. The amount of volunteers that go out of their way to help others in need are amazing! I highly recommend this program if you need help or want to volunteer and be part of an dynamic organization that is making a difference.

Why did mnt you textI was lectured. You called for the interviews so why didn't you say you expected a text. No apologies but a lecture. To waste my time, my gas n schedule this over a different interview. I applied again in January of 2026. They told me to come in for an interview than took that back. NEVER AGAIN! Guardians and parents are speechless at the lack of care and leadership that is provided to the clients. I won't talk about the "good old days" but now? It is an operation with heavy emphasis on management and not enough workers. It's a tough job for workers and they rarely stay because the pay is low and demands are high. State funding is inadequate, but no visible signs to alleviate the top-heavy organization are apparent. The saddest part is that as the guardians and parents grow older and are unable to care for their family member (yes, they are special needs and have been given no voice or ability to express their opinion) there aren't any other options. When our family members were born, law firms didn't take on cases that would provide families with financial assistance and put the blame on the doctors and hospitals that were responsible for many of their birth defects like they do now. RGA needs an angel to turn this once stellar organization back into one that is acceptably and efficiently run.

They used to host discussion groups, throw parties for civic-minded community members, and provide advice to citizens looking to make a change in our community. Though based in Elmhurst, they provided support throughout the Chicagoland area. I really appreciated that you could simply pick up the phone and bounce ideas off of a community lawyer to further improve your own activism. CAC has had limited staffing in recent years, and does not appear to be providing support for any new issues brought to their attention by community members. Pretty much every activist that I've spoken to (and I've spoken to many, including long-time supporters and donors) is no longer actively involved with CAC.

We don't need no water, let the muthfuka burn!…read more Five sexy stars for the five alarm event that was going on at Fitz's Spare Keys for the 2012 3rd annual firefighter benefit. It was muy caliente. So hot in fact, that I would have called the firehouse... if its employees weren't already here (and shirtless)! *Takei voice* Oh myyy! For $30 all the single ladies (all the single ladies) and anyone else who wanted to come for a good time and a good cause were granted entry to the event and given wristbands for all-you-can-drink. They also had a sweet spread of bar food with sandwiches, pizza, peppers and sausages, and cookies. I piled my plate high and waited for the bidding to begin. The Date Auction portion was a hot hoot. They had the manly mancakes parade around on stage, take off their shirts, thrust their hips, answer questions, and do pushups. All of them (ages 21-39 this year) were attractive and seemed like great guys to take you on a date. Most of them ended up raking in about $100 for the benefit and they even did a few impromptu auctions for some of the ladies hosting and the owner of Fitz's himself. It was so much fun and you can tell everyone was there to have a good time and help out as much as they could. I didn't bid on any beefcakes, but I took part in the raffle for Split the Pot and the raffle for prizes that were generously donated by local businesses. I ended up winning a $20 giftcard to Famous Dave's with a four pack of sauces. Like I said, I donated $30 just to come to the event and I more than broke even on my investment, but I would have loved this great benefit even if I'd come home with only fond memories and a smile.

Great cause for the American Cancer Society and a great way to thank all the firefighters that risk…read moretheir lives to save others. $30 got you in the door for all you can eat and drink. Unfortunately I can't say that the event was about the food, because the food wasn't all that. They had pizza, sandwiches, sausage and peppers, and a sweets table. Nothing to write home about. The firefighters sure knew how to work the crowd! From taking their shirts off, to dancing, to push ups and even YOGA poses (my favorite). I don't think one fighter fighter left with out a date. Even the owner got auctioned off. The drinks were pouring and lets just say it was very entertaining. Our table had lots of willing ladies bidding for the cause. I will definitely be going back next year. =] Oh and did I mention, the money was raised for the American Cancer Society. Win Win situation!

Stuff all over, just not well kept. Be weary when going here - it's a mess. I realize customers mostly contribute to this mess, but many other Goodwill's are much neater and cleaner, so their stores/management must be doing something better.
