Our dog stayed at her house for a week and had the time of his life in her 1 acre fenced in back yard. It is a dream place for dogs! Lisa was extremely easy to communicate with, super flexible with our last minute plans, and at $50/night, I found her rates to be reasonable. She clearly loves pets, yet isn't one of these dopey pet people who just gets googley eyed over your furry friend. Instead, she is great with pets and people, super responsible, and really cares about what she is doing. She made our dog feel like a part of her home. She texted us pictures of him on walks and at a family picnic at a lake. She could have easily left him at home but intead included him in her plans, which was great. I'm not someone who would even think to ask or want pictures of our dog while we are away, but we eneded up loving them because we could clearly see he was so happy. If all people could run a business in this fashion, oh how our lives would be easier!

In heavy traffic, I watched their vehicle go straight through an intersection from a right hand turn only lane, putting them in another right hand turn only lane and cutting off traffic in order to go straight. If you're going to put the name of your business on your car and advertise "pet taxi" service, perhaps drive in a safe and legal manner. I wouldn't want to risk my animals getting in an accident because the driver doesn't feel the need to drive properly.

Elsa instructed me on the appropriate way to train Cal and then watched as I then followed her instructions. I really appreciate her letting me take control for majority of the session and for bringing yummy high value treats for Cal. When the session was over I felt confident in my skills to train Cal. I would recommend Elsa. She is reliable, a fast communicator, backs up her training with research articles, and shows obvious knowledge in dog training. She followed up Cal's session with an email reminding me of the points we went over which was very helpful for my foggy short term memory. I recently moved to Maine and contacted Kara's Petcare on the recommendation of my vet. I was so…read moreexcited because it seemed like they would be able to offer daycare for my dogs and some auxiliary training if needed. They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.
