Within a few minutes Elsa had approached Cal in such a way so that Cal stopped barking and was calm enough to start the training. Elsa instructed me on the appropriate way to train Cal and then watched as I then followed her instructions. I really appreciate her letting me take control for majority of the session and for bringing yummy high value treats for Cal. When the session was over I felt confident in my skills to train Cal. I would recommend Elsa. She is reliable, a fast communicator, backs up her training with research articles, and shows obvious knowledge in dog training. She followed up Cal's session with an email reminding me of the points we went over which was very helpful for my foggy short term memory. We have a beloved family dog who needed somewhere to play and be happy. We found happy tails and immediately knew we found the right place. Jay was welcoming and accommodating given our out-of-town status. Enrollment, including uploading health and safety data as well as scheduling the time that we needed to have our pup in their care, could not have been smoother. We did a test run two days before the wedding for 4 to 5 hours and agreed that if we didn't want to be at the wedding so badly we would spend the day at happy Tails! Whitaker was quickly noted to be a "good boy ". We returned on Saturday early in the morning and left him in good hands until the pick up at closing time on the same day. Everyone was happy and we wonder should we move to Portland in order to use this wonderful doggy daycare? One of ours is an older 35 lb dog that does not see well. She had at least two giant dogs running right at her. My husband had her leashed and walked away. I could not follow with the other dog because if I did, the horde would have rushed at us and my older dog would have been even more scared. They kept screaming at the dogs and the dogs did not listen at all. They just kept coming at us. I lost it on the women and instead of being nice and apologetic, they were rude and snotty. Told us to turn around and keep walking. They finally got the dogs loaded on the buses, and we could hear them talking rudely about us. If you don't want your dogs to get hurt, or handled by people that obviously have no control, you might want to skip this place. They really are unprofessional and need some training in how to handle dogs safely.

In heavy traffic, I watched their vehicle go straight through an intersection from a right hand turn only lane, putting them in another right hand turn only lane and cutting off traffic in order to go straight. If you're going to put the name of your business on your car and advertise "pet taxi" service, perhaps drive in a safe and legal manner. I wouldn't want to risk my animals getting in an accident because the driver doesn't feel the need to drive properly.

Our dog stayed at her house for a week and had the time of his life in her 1 acre fenced in back yard. It is a dream place for dogs! Lisa was extremely easy to communicate with, super flexible with our last minute plans, and at $50/night, I found her rates to be reasonable. She clearly loves pets, yet isn't one of these dopey pet people who just gets googley eyed over your furry friend. Instead, she is great with pets and people, super responsible, and really cares about what she is doing. She made our dog feel like a part of her home. She texted us pictures of him on walks and at a family picnic at a lake. She could have easily left him at home but intead included him in her plans, which was great. I'm not someone who would even think to ask or want pictures of our dog while we are away, but we eneded up loving them because we could clearly see he was so happy. If all people could run a business in this fashion, oh how our lives would be easier!
