Last fall Anrik came to winterize our irrigation system and they called to say they could not complete the work because the shutoff valve was defective and a plumber would have to replace it. I arranged to have a plumber come on a Saturday (their recommended plumber was too busy) and to make a long story short there was nothing wrong with the shutoff valve so we wasted a plumber's time and our money. Fast forward to this spring. Anrik came to open the system up and left a note saying there were leaks in the system and they couldn't complete their work without having to come back at a later date to find the control boxes (apparently they don't have the tool to find the boxes on their truck). I would also mention that over the past few years we had issues with water sporadically staying on all day and night which Anrik had diagnosed as a bad controller, which they replaced but we continued to have that problem. I called Anrik and told them don't come back to our property, EVER. I called another company who came out and found the issue to be a control valve was stuck open so they replaced it and completed the startup without incident - there were no "leaks". The technician said the valves were very old and if we wanted reliable service from them they should be replaced, which is why we had water running day and night previously. We followed their advice and had the valves replace and since then no issues with water staying on day and night. So Anrik's prior misdiagnosis cost us for a new controller we apparently didn't need. Our landscaper actually had hired Anrik to do the seasonal startup and shutdown and when I called him to tell him what happened and not to pay their bill he informed me they collect their money from him in advance so he had already paid for a startup they couldn't complete. Of course they charge in advance, with such terrible service they would never get paid if they didn't. If I could give ANRIK zero stars I would. The property they had been servicing is the Greeley Point Condominiums in Amherst. We hired them because they had originally installed the system many years ago but they just don't seem to know what they're doing now. I highly recommend you use someone else. I am intentionally NOT saying the name of their competitor who fixed our system because they would accuse me of being a shill for them so instead I am saying ANYONE would be better than them. read more

This will probably cost me because I've paid for a winterization service that hasn't yet been provided but I'm really pissed off right now and need to share with potential customers the way I've been talked to by Annemarie like I'm some kind of scumbag. Apparently this is a company that obviously has so much business they can afford to lose customers by treating them like they are an inconvenience. Per the standard process, if Anrik Irrigation services your sprinkler system, you pay first for your system to get winterized and they fit you into their schedule when it's convenient to them. I'm somewhat okay with, don't prefer it, but I also have a job and so does my wife - and I'm sure many of their customers have situations similar to mine. So their "take it or leave it - we'll be in your neighborhood on Thursday morning" standard isn't what anyone should consider responsive to their customer base. Regardless, the first appointment came up - I don't recall what the exact date was. I HAD to work at the time but my wife took the day off to be at the house. Apparently the service reps came to my house and upon realizing I hadn't shut off the main valve, they determined they couldn't winterize the system. DOESN'T APPARENTLY MATTER they didn't see the need to go push the doorbell to ask my wife to let them into the basement and turn the valve off themselves. That seems like it would have been a really good idea. But they didn't and I have security cameras at each door and they never came to the door. My wife had no idea they were there. Second appointment came up, I was here, met the tech outside and brought him into my basement - showed him the main valve was off but they failed to bring an adapter to connect the air hose to my system to blow it out. According to AnneMarie though, that was also considered a no-show of MY doing that she felt obligated to rub my nose in as she left a voicemail to let me know my third and final opportunity (due to the 2 previous no-shows) for service would take place on Wednesday. So the message I want to share in this review is to manage your expectations with this company. They are probably technically very competent but they are doing so well there is no concern with losing customers. They really seem to believe they are doing you a favor by accepting your business. Last penny I'll spend on them. You should all do the same. read more

Have used Anrik for the past two years. Prices are high, but most of the technicians are knowledgeable and helpful. I am giving only one star because they are price gouging for irrigation shutdown this year. When I called to arrange for shutdown, I was told the (already high) price would be increased because I did not answer their letter, (which I never received), before the deadline. This company did not flush out my system correctly causing pipes to burst and a plumber visit that was not inexpensive. When I called the company, they told.me.the issue was my fault and wanted me to buy from them a 500.00 part and hire the plumber again. Luckily I have a good plumber who said I was not missing the part and to find another irrigation company that knows what they are doing. Another company came, fixed everything for a reasonable price, but all said and done, this company cost me 1000.00 or more in damages. read more

This company came over to help me out of a jam I had with another irrigation company. Annmarie quickly replied to my email, followed up with a phone call and the gentleman who showed up to resolve my issues (sorry I do not remember his name) was well versed in the business, very helpful, very polite, on-time, and all other checks in the boxes which you would like to see in a company like this. They have since earned my business, yes; they may be a more pricey than some of their competition but at the end of the day I'd rather pay more up front than chase a cheaper company to do a job correctly. We had an irrigation system installed this past June, and I can see why practically the whole street went with Anrik: They are a good, honest, responsive local business. The price for the job they did for us was more than fair, the quality of the components was excellent, and everything worked fine. They sent us a hand-written note thanking us for our business, and a quick call to remedy a few misbehaving sprinkler heads (out of 33!) was handled expertly. read more

At the end of the day the job was completed but I had to hold this company's hand almost every step of the way. Rick showed up on time for the estimate. I had two other estimates that were lower but were months out on installing. I had to wait two weeks for the installation by Anrik. I went with them, not based on glowing reviews but on lack of really bad reviews--and the quick installation appointment. It's seasonal and weather-dependent so I kept an open-mind thinking they'd do everything possible to stick with the schedule. After hiring them the office person told me that my "tentative" install date was 6/6. I had to call on 6/5 to confirm that they were going to show up and get the start time to insure I would be there--I get a confirmation call for a $20.00 haircut and didn't get one from this company. I haven't had a chance to use their service for repairs, etc..yet so I guess we will see if that's any better. The crew was there on time but a couple of hours after they started the plumber called them to let them know he wouldn't be able to make it. They had no backup plan so I had to rearrange my schedule for 8 days later for the plumber to hook up the water, the installation guys to come out and hook up the system to the water and adjust sprinkler heads, etc...And the tutorial--which isn't even worth mentioning. It was rushed because the guys had another job to get to and I had to drive from work and go back. Now the system seems to work fine except if the WiFi goes down for any reason the system won't run and there is no indication on the app that the WiFi isn't connected so it will be in the back of my head..especially when out of town, etc... It will probably take me a while to trust that it works correctly. Not having anything else to compare this company to I don't know where they should rank. In an industry where there are hundreds of players I was hoping that I would have gotten better service, especially for the amount of money the system cost. They told me they would make it right but I have yet to see anything happen. read more
