We were out for a drive and we weren't sure where we were going to celebrate our 26th wedding…read moreanniversary. We stumbled upon The Bistro at Labelle Winery. What a find! From the service, to the cocktails, to the food it was a five star experience. We were also lucky enough to see an incredible sunset. I had the cranberry amaretto sour cocktail, which was absolutely divine. We then had a flight of white wine with a baked Brie to start, and it was delicious. My husband had the short rib and I had the strip sirloin, both were cooked beautifully, and the short rib came on a bed of homemade pasta. I had a glass of their Malbec, which they recommended with the strip steak and it was so good that we bought a bottle to bring home. We ended our night with coffee and a pot de crème, which was out of this world. Our server Niamh, was fantastic. She was very attentive, warm and friendly and she helped make it a perfect evening. This place is a gem, would definitely return.

The waitress was knowledgeable on the wines and their pairings. We got the red wine braised shortrib poutine and and it was AMAZING I've tried a lot of poutine and this was one of the best. The meat was so incredibly flavorful and soft, the cheese had the perfect cheese pull, the gravy was scrumptious and the fries were thin and perfectly salty like a better version of a McDonald's fry. For dinner we split the steak frites and duck breast. The steak was well seasoned and was a nice size, the broccolini was surprisingly really great, and the fries were just as good as they were in the poutine. The duck breast was a pass for me, and I love duck. It was cooked medium as a default and that is not my preference. It was quite chewy and I didn't think it tasted like very much at all. The mashed potatoes were very good, I think they have a real knack for all things potato here and the farro was good and very flavorful for being a side portion. I would definitely come here again but probably stick to the red meats.

I made reservations for my wedding anniversary and was very excited to try greenleaf. I believe…read morechef Chris is a talented chef, he was not cooking tonight so that may have been the issue. When we first walked in we were greeted by a lovely bartender. Our table was not ready yet so we sat with him and had a cocktail while we waited. There was a Halloween festival going on in the town and they were very busy with foot traffic as well as their normal dinner service. They had a bar open downstairs for the food traffic and upstairs was grossly understaffed. That being said, our waitress and bartender were quite lovely. For our starter we ordered the octopus. It was VERY chewy, not what you want when you order octopus. I was very disappointed and hoped the main meals did not follow suit. My husband had the cod and I ordered the duck. Let me say the duck was fantastic. One of the best meals I've had in a while. My husbands fish was very over cooked and bland. If we had both gotten the duck I would've given this place 4 stars. Unfortunately two bad meals was not what we wanted to experience for our long waited visit here. Chef Chris recently opened up a new restaurant. I wish I had made a reservation there instead because greenleaf's food needs his touch.

I think it's important to share feedback not only for other diners but also for restaurants owners/…read moreoperators. While it has been awhile since I last wrote a review I thought this dining experience warranted one. Experience: - The Square is super cute and offers ample parking. -The bathrooms smell awful, from the moment you walk in the hallway there is clearly a plumbing issue present which has been present our last two visits.. rough way to start your experience at a restaurant. -The menu, no issue with prices going up but using white out over the prices, hand writing new prices which is barely legible is tacky to say the least. -Following our order the food came out nearly immediately and it was clear the guacamole to our main dishes are made in advance and not done well. - To the mgmt team -3% surcharge to use a credit card is a joke, add it to your price or offer a cash/ debit discount not the other way around. On the food side: -The beans were prepared with way too much salt.. inedible was the way we would describe it.. -Mexican rice was awful. No sign of a single vegetable or herbs... Mexican rice should and can be made flavorful with ease by any chef. -The guacamole was clearly made well in advance and brown... I'm sorry, happy to pay a premium for guac at a restaurant but this product shows no effort to ensure freshness. -Main dishes , both submerged in oil and our chicken was served nearly cold... fajitas served lukewarm and lacking flavor which seems hard to do but that was our experience. - Drinks - the unsweetened ice tea was served carbonated for some odd reason from their soda machine... not drinkable sorry. Service: - servers were kind and attentive, checking in routinely for anything we may need which was deeply appreciated. After a few shots at this restaurant we both agreed there is a reason the restaurant is empty, the food , the ambiance, the overall experience for our hard earned money. TLDR for the restaurant - take pride in your food, take a fresh look at the diners experience, Mexican food should be vibrant, flavorful and delicious, this is by far the worst finished product we have ever had in NH and simply put not worth a visit unless something drastic changes.
