Arnold and his team was easy to work with, fast, reliable and built a beautiful staircase for our family. They took it in consideration that we had small children and got the job done very quickly to insure their safety. The staircase is absolutely beautiful and a statement peace in our home.

Arnold and his crew are simply amazing craftsman. If your thinking about modernizing your stairwell, there's only one call to make. I'm a GC and in the business for 40+ years, and the attention to detail by everyone of the guys was great. Good guys, great work, timely completion. Arnold was very helpful in the choices and decision making. We're very happy with everything from concept to completion. My wife and I, highly recommend ANS Stairs.

10 Stars if I could. Arnold and his team (Javier) did an excellent job and well exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Arnold for anyone looking for stair and railing work. Arnold was very timely all the time right from the quote all the way to finish. He was extremely reasonable in quote compared to all the quotes I had ever received. Amount of work needed was so huge there could easily be increase in quote during work but Arnold just did not bother to mention about small items he may have found here and there. We changed the design of post and balusters few times and he was fine. Clearly he puts customer above the profit.

Overall a great experience. They were quick to respond, I only wish they would text less and chat in person or via phone more, especially while getting consult/quote. It's just easier to ask all your questions through conversation. Aside from that, they answered all my questions, were ready for the job once I decided to proceed. It only took 2-3 days to complete , but quoted me 10-14 days, again, this may be due to only having text chats and not seeing job in person during the quote phase. Everyone was friendly, they had good spirits despite my many stairs to climb, and cleaned up after each day. I worked with the stainer to try and match as close as we could to my non wood floor. I am extremely happy with the results. Would definitely recommend.

I can't say enough about ANS stairs. We have a very old home and wanted to re-do the staircase. Sal was very professional and helped in determining how we'd curve it at the base. The guys who actually did the work were phenominal! They tore out the existing staircase, blocked off the rest of the house with plastic so we didn't have a saw dust mess all over. The finished product came out beautiful. BTW- I interviewed 3 other stair companies and was not impressed by any of them. Their deminor and attitude was just not up to the caliber of ANS. They are truly excited about helping you make something special in your home. We don't live near Tracy, so they used their travel time wisely and got the job done as efficiently as was possible. See my before and after pictures.... Would use them again and highly recommend them!

Thank you ANS. You came in consulted, paid attention to my request and details, demonstrated patience and completed the job within seven days. My stairs are stunning and truly complements the decor in my home. Sal, Arnold, Wilbur and entire team, thank you for your services.

Super happy with my new stairs! We had done the demo work, and reached out to a few stair renovation companies. We had to coordinate with 2 other companies to schedule bids... and ANS simply said - send pictures of what you have and what you want. Did that, got a quote a few days later. Best in price, and they were able to start the soonest. They kept within the timeline promised, and did excellent work! Check out my before and afters. We're holding off on the carpet until the upstairs bedrooms r done so we can tie it all in together..

Ask the Community - ANS Custom Stairs & Interior Finish

Are you able to do a stair skirt?

Outside skirts are easier accomplished if treads are being replaced. There is an outside return that passes the riser and the skirt needs to go under it.

What do you base your prices on stairs when they are being changed from wood to wrought iron? I have wood spindles on my bannister and I always wanted wrought iron bannister.

If we are not changing the color of your stair rail system, the process is pretty clean & quick. Provided your wood balusters (spindles) are 1 1/4” square at the bottom. 1 3/4” is too large to replace as iron is smaller (5/8” or 1/2” or 9/16”).… Read more

I am *really* fussy about hiring contractors. So many of them conduct their business sloppily and…read moreunprofessionally I can't believe they stay in business at all. So I do my research and am VERY selective in who I hire when our house needs work. My wife and I hired Andy Fernandes and Adval and they proved to be the real deal. Andy was *always* prompt - every time he or anyone from his company was scheduled to arrive they arrived early. Andy and his crew were communicative, clearly very knowledgeable, and straightforward, which is to say that they told me *and showed me* what was really happening and not what they wanted to promise or what they thought we wanted to hear. And they followed through exactly as they said they would. The quality of their work was outstanding. We had a few kitchen cabinets that had gotten damaged by the 2014 Napa quake and were looking like they were going to fall off the wall. Andy sent over a master carpenter (he spent years building stuff for moneyed people on Martha's Vineyard, who can be quite demanding) who didn't "upsell" us by telling us one of the cabinets needed to be rebuilt (the build cabinet in their own shop), he showed us in detail exactly what the problem was and convinced skeptical me that a new cabinet built from real plywood instead of the particle board of the cabinets the flipper who sold us the house had installed was the way to go. They reused the facing from the old cabinets, so the match was immaculate. Price-wise, yeah, they weren't the cheapest I could have found, but they were most definitely not close to the high end, they were right in the ballpark, and I figure if I demand quality I have to be wiling to pay for it. And we most decidedly got what we paid for. I repeat again that I am VERY picky about contractors, but I unhesitatingly give Adval Construction my highest recommendation. Our job was pretty small, but I would hire them for a big job in a heartbeat. This is the way construction contracting is supposed to work.

The Adval team is amazing! We researched a number of companies in the Bay Area for our master bath…read moreremodel/closet project and they impressed us from the start. Kurt came out and spent time with us to understand the scope of the project and really listened to what we wanted. He was professional with a warm and caring approach. Patrick did a great job spearheading the project and Andre and his team were onsite every week working tirelessly to ensure we stayed on schedule. The communication was top notch throughout the project and the team made sure no detail was overlooked which made us feel that our project was in good hands. I would highly recommend Adval!

We actually met with quite a few contractors before we found Mike. Honestly, the fact that he was willing to come out on a Saturday just to work around our crazy schedules told us everything we needed to know right off the bat. From that first meeting, Mike just 'got' it. He didn't just listen; he offered real insight on how to open up the space and make it actually functional for our family while keeping the modern look we wanted. Even when the inevitable hiccups popped up, Mike always had a workaround ready. He wasn't just a guy we hired; he felt like a partner in the whole process. Our home is beautiful, and we can't recommend Mike enough if you're looking to start your own project.

This included a complete demo of the master bath (including removing the tub and extending the shower) and partial demo of the guest bath. I was very happy and pleased with the results. From the beginning of the design phase through the final touches of the "punch list" my HQR Project manager, Ronnie Illan, was in constant contact with me. He helped me with materials questions, project timelines and even picked up some of the materials for me. From the beginning it was clear my satisfaction was his number one priority. The contractors HQR used on my project were equally friendly and easy to communicate with. Even when I made some changes in the middle of the remodel (which is bound to happen!) everyone was friendly and accommodating. In short, I was very pleased with the work HQR did and I would highly encourage others to include them when you are getting bids...I'm sure you won't be disappointed! Attached are pictures of both remodeled bathrooms. I've included pictures of the original master bath as well as the 3D rendering of the remodeled master bath BEFORE any work was done. Notice how close the new Master Bath is to the 3D rendering.

Even his sub-contractors (workers, electricians, countertop stone pros, etc.) are just as skilled and reliable as he is. Oh... and his pricing is quite fair too! We are VERY happy customers.. not only with the final outcome, but with the entire process.... made possible & lead by CK Construction. We'll be hiring them again next year for our next project. If you're looking, CK Construction is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

He replied that he had a backlog of a month or so, and to go ahead and get the stairs delivered and he would reach out if he got an opening in the meantime, and to follow up in a few weeks. After having the stairs sitting in my garage for a month, followed up and was again told it would be a few more weeks and he would reach out. Well, it's been six months and I became concerned that the warranty on the stairs would expire before I even got them installed. Ended up giving up on the endless wait and having someone else solve the problem.
