Spoke with Arnold about the project. He asked me to send pics and what railings I would like installed. I told him that I lived in San Jose ca since his home base is Tracy. He told me that he was currently doing a project in San Jose. I asked him when he could come over and give me a quote but never responded back. I even tried calling again and left a message on the voicemail. All I'm saying is that, if you don't want my business, just have the decency to reply back and tell me so. Arnold from ANS was very honest from the get go, and was one of the few companies willing to talk to me when requesting a quote. Most didn't even want to return any of my calls. Arnold and his crew did an outstanding job, remaining exactly within what was quoted. His crew were very clean, covered all surrounding areas, to confine the debris from the work from the custom work that had to be done. Arnold was very timely all the time right from the quote all the way to finish. He was extremely reasonable in quote compared to all the quotes I had ever received. Amount of work needed was so huge there could easily be increase in quote during work but Arnold just did not bother to mention about small items he may have found here and there. Overall a great experience. They were quick to respond, I only wish they would text less and chat in person or via phone more, especially while getting consult/quote. It's just easier to ask all your questions through conversation. Aside from that, they answered all my questions, were ready for the job once I decided to proceed. It only took 2-3 days to complete , but quoted me 10-14 days, again, this may be due to only having text chats and not seeing job in person during the quote phase. Everyone was friendly, they had good spirits despite my many stairs to climb, and cleaned up after each day. I worked with the stainer to try and match as close as we could to my non wood floor. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! Arnold and his team are outstanding. We just did a large remodel and we were the most impressed with ANS Custom Stairs. They were straight forward, honest, helpful and when we asked for a temporary railing since they had to pre-demo our before flooring - amazing they built us a solid one (we have young kids and a dog) for no additional charge. The main project was - we had them build our modern glass panel and metal frame railing on engineer hardwood that came out absolutely stunning. These guys are pros, very focused and know how to deliver. They even expedited our glass manufacturing due to the kids - without us even asking! I would never even consider working with another team for railings - these guys knocked it out of the park! read more

Long overdue review for this AWESOME company! I had a super chanllenging stair project involving artificial stone sculptured on the side of curved stair wall, and a semi-curved stair case that are iregularly shaped. The previous company I hired (not a professional stair company in the first place which is my biggest mistake) botched the job and Arnold and his team from ANS saved our lives. They totally turned the stairs around with the detail to PERFECTION. It is so worth the wait for having them do the project!! I can't say enough about ANS stairs. We have a very old home and wanted to re-do the staircase. Sal was very professional and helped in determining how we'd curve it at the base. The guys who actually did the work were phenominal! They tore out the existing staircase, blocked off the rest of the house with plastic so we didn't have a saw dust mess all over. The finished product came out beautiful. BTW- I interviewed 3 other stair companies and was not impressed by any of them. Their deminor and attitude was just not up to the caliber of ANS. They are truly excited about helping you make something special in your home. We don't live near Tracy, so they used their travel time wisely and got the job done as efficiently as was possible. Arnold was initially very responsive. He responded to my e-mails, came by our house and provided a bid. Then all the sudden nothing. Rather than saying he was no longer interested, they simple stopped responding. I should have figured when I had to reach out 3 separate times for a simple question. In my opinion our stairs were no small job so I was rather confused. We signed the bid saying we were interested only to never hear from them again. read more

I found ANS by chance looking at Yelp reviews. They were my second call, and I'm so glad I did. Sal came out to provide a quote. He was meticulous in the detailed questions he asked. Several items I had not even considered. Pricing was on par with another company just restaining. Arnold and his staff were awesome. I had a complete re-do of my stairs. Took out the oak false treads, railings and balusters. Replaced it with Beech and Iron. They did a great job, were on time, respectful of our home and cleaned up each night when they were done. They subcontracted with Bona Vista Painting to do the stain. Miguel created a beautiful custom color and his experience was obvious. We found a couple small issues after the job was complete. Both Arnold and Miguel were quick to respond and satisfy our requests. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and I already have! read more

We had to coordinate with 2 other companies to schedule bids... and ANS simply said - send pictures of what you have and what you want. Did that, got a quote a few days later. I am very pleased with my stairs remodel - beech wood stairs with santos mahogany stain, copper wrought bars with a volute. Within a 1 week notice, Sal and team quoted for the stairs modification job. They were quick in corresponding to messages. The price was reasonable, especially for carpet installation on stairs. I'm writing a review for the company located in Tracy, CA. (408) 687-4054. We have just bought this house and the stair railing was not up to the current code. The railing were too far apart and dangerous for the little ones. So we saw one of our friend's stair done by ANS, and it look absolutely stunning. We contacted ANS to redo our stairs completely. It was originally all covered by old carpet, with standard wood railing. They finished the project on time, right before we move in. They even worked on weekends to fit our schedule and ensure we could move in. We are amazed these guys were able to transform the old stairs into a masterpiece for the house! They gave very good recommendation, including material selections, and stainer. They were also very willing to work with our budget. We are very pleased with the service and end product. This started out as a nightmare project for myself, and they took my project by the reigns and made it a dream come true! Not only that but Sal and Arnold were professional, knowledgeable, and down to earth! They never made me feel out of the loop, explained everything in detail. They even helped with my crown molding, baseboard and front door knowing I had a time crisis to move in ahead of schedule!
