We had a great experience with our guide Wally to Deer Canyon. It was just opened a year ago so fairly new. They did a great job putting in the stairs and ladders. We went on a private 10am tour and we basically had the canyon to ourselves. Wally pointed out places to take pictures and even pointers on how to take the best shots. We didn't feel rushed or like cattle like the other more popular tours. The entire tour took about 2 1/2 hrs long. It was a bumpy off-road ride to Deer Canyon but nothing too bad. Wally even stopped once along the way to point out the buttes in the distance. We learned that Navajo Nation was in the same time zone as Utah but not Arizona. That explained why our cell phones were switching times back and forth. Wally took us the correct way into Deer Canyon. Going down a long flight of stairs and heading into the slot canyon in that direction and climbing back up using ladders. When we finished our tour, we ran into another group that was entering the canyon down the ladders. Going in the opposite direction that we had gone. This seems quite dangerous and more challenging. I'm glad we didn't do it that way.

Great tour of Deer Canyon. Jon was a great and knowledgeable guide. The trip is a long ride into the desert to the drop off point. But well worth it. The canyon is extremely cool and amazing for photos. We were lucky to not have anyone else with us, so it was a very private tour and excellent way to see these amazing natural formations.

Deer Canyon was a beautiful experience. Wallace was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about Navajo history and culture. He also had photography experience and pointed out the best photo opportunities as well as took multiples photos of my daughter and I. Bonus, we had the tour to ourselves!

Great experience. We did a 6 mile hike and had the area to ourselves. We loved being away from all the crowds and had as much time as we wanted to enjoy the beauty.

This Antelope Canyon hike with our tour guide,Joann, was a bucket list wish come true. Pictures do not do this amazing hike justice. We loved everything about it and hope to come back soon. Would definitely recommend to anyone who's wanting a guided hike with incredible views and gain knowledge of the land from the wonderful tour guides.

My wife, two teenage sons (17 yrs, 15 yrs), and I came here in early April 2023 and booked a tour after reading the Yelp reviews. It was a super experience! As first-time visitors, we chose the standard 2 hour Ligai Si'Anii canyon tour. It's a great introduction to the landscape - but you may want to consider a longer tour if you are an avid hiker or want to see more than 2 slot canyons. First, I liked that this is local Navajo family-run business on their private land. Email communication was easy and professional. Second, the tour gives each small to medium-sized group plenty of time to take pictures, relax, or ask questions. Third, the main slot canyon ("tree stump") has a spectacular spot where the acoustics are superb. The experience of looking up from a slot canyon is peaceful. By the way, Ligai Si'Anii is translates as "white cone" which refers to the many rock formations in the local area. Overall, visiting the slot canyons is a "must-do" experience in Page, AZ. You'll also be helping to give a boost to the local economy and enjoy some the natural splendor in this remarkable pocket of northern Arizona!

Amazing tour and amazing people! A must visit!!! They are very friendly and accommodating... our tour guide, John, was very knowledgeable. Thanks for the memorable tour!

After reading reviews of several tour-operators, I decided to go with "Antelope Valley Canyon Tours by Ligai Si' Anii". The main reason was to avoid the experience of being treated like cattle, being pushed to keep moving to stay ahead of "the next group." So it was and so it is. We were not treated like cattle. In fact, from the very first interaction, we were treated by Ligai Si' Anii staff as sacred. Our tour had a relaxed pace. There was no other group to keep ahead of. Being oblivious and forgetful, I neglected to notice that Arizona does not observe daylight savings time. So, coming from our lodging in Utah, we arrived an hour early. But ever full of care, the Ligai Si' Anii staff affirmed our choice to ally ourselves with the Navajo people, who do observe daylight savings time. They called for a back-up tour-guide, and Tristan responded quickly. What a delightful soul! Though separated by many social categories, we nevertheless connected at deep levels with Tristan. I did not keep track of the precise time, but I think the walking part of our tour lasted closer to 100 minutes than the advertised 45 minutes. Tristan led us into several slot canyons, each unique and gorgeous. He offered to take photos of my Beautiful Bride and me (with my phone). He also modeled some photo techniques that were new to me: a vertical panorama, for example!

Mom and son operation that was friendly, professional and personalized. We arrived to meet John our tour guide who drove us 20 min to the slot canyons site. We took a steep walk down into the canyons to see the smooth walls as he explained the history of his family, the canyon and helped us take family pics and some great shots with our iPhones. We forgot our backpack so he loaned us one to carry our water and car keys. Our group was small, only 5 people. Please be sure to bring a mask as the Navajo nation rules are strictly enforced. You will not be able to tour without a mask. I recommend bringing a hat and water as the desert heat is hot. You will need either running shoes or hikers. No flip flops or slip ons as there are areas that are very uneven, sharp and also narrow. Hubby is 6 ft 3 and 230lbs. If you are a wider build, you may not be able to squeeze through certain parts. Hubby was able to get through without issue but something to consider for my fellow travellers. Our tour took about 2 hours and was worth every penny! We tipped John $20. for his service. Do note that we originally booked Ken's Tours but all tours were cancelled for the next 2 days due to flash floods. We drove 2 hours each way from flagstaff to page for the slot canyons abs are blessed to have found this small opera. August is monsoon season so you may want to visit in a different month. Overall, spectacular job with family memories and pics! Give the smaller operators a chance. We don't regret it all.
What an excellent way to spend an evening walking through the canyon walls at night and viewing the stars/constellations. We also learned the history of the Native communities. They supply headlamps to safely navigate through the dark canyon walls. Our guide, Wally, was awesome. And he showed us how to adjust our cameras to take better pictures. read more

Amazing tour and hike! My husband and I did deer canyon and it ended up only being us, so we got a very private tour away from the crowds. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We would love to come back and do another hike in the future! I would consider deer canyon a moderate level hike there was uneven dirt and rocks and ladders, once in the canyon it has very narrow pathways read more

Amazing touring company! We came here instead of the tourist heavy upper/lower antelope canyons as those companies will herd you like cattle and rush you through the canyon so you don't get to enjoy the experience much. We hiked both the deer canyon (day) and night star gazing tour and both were excellent. You still get the slot canyon views you'd see in other ones but this includes more adventurous climbing and leisure time to go at your own pace. The Navajo that run this organization are very friendly and informative. If you want to see slot canyons or stars, I 100% recommend this company! read more

The stargazing tour was incredible!! As a city kid, I've never seen so many stars! Being in the canyon felt magical and unreal. There's a sense of peace there that you simply have to experience for yourself. Though I had a great time, I can't give this 5 stars for two reasons: 1. We really wanted to learn more about the Navajo culture but our guide didn't share of that with us as I've seen in other reviews. He did have many facts about animals which was very interesting! 2. The confirmation did not have an arrival time so I planned to be there at 6:50pm for a 7pm start. The owner called at 6:41pm inquiring if we were coming. I let her know that the GPS said we'd arrive in 11 mins (6:52pm). She informed us that we were supposed to arrive 20 mins early and the tour guide was ready to pack up and leave. We pleaded for them to wait as we were en route and after checking the email again, it didn't say anything about arriving 20mins early. She eventually agreed but was extremely rude over the phone. Once we arrived I called back to make sure we were in the right spot as it's super dark and we are unfamiliar with the area. She was even nastier on this call, I could barely get a word in to explain where we were. We realized that we just needed to drive a little further and met our tour guide. While he was nice, he seemed to be annoyed with us initially. This interaction really put a damper on our experience which made me really sad because this was the last activity of my little sisters birthday trip and the thing we were most excited about. I understand that we all have tough days, especially at the end of the work day but I still think it's important to treat people with kindness. read more

We booked a tour around 1pm for a tour between 4 and 6pm the same day through Expedia. I got a phone call about thirty minutes before the tour was supposed to start stating that the tour would be cancelled because it was too hot, around 100 degrees. We were already on our way to the meeting site so we arrived as planned and I asked about a refund when we got there. I was told that they couldn't provide a refund because we were inside of 72 hours before the tour. I have been working with Expedia for a refund and they aren't responding to Expedia's requests. They don't seem to care that THEY CANCELLED ON US or that the tour was booked only about two hours before the tour. One would think they wouldn't have allowed the tour to be booked since the weather was hot when I booked!! ***The owner has commented on this review stating that I reviewed the wrong company. The phone number listed matches the phone number that called me to cancel. *** read more

I was nervous from the many well known tour operators in the area since all of them received enough below three star review about how they felt rushed and even on some occasions very rude tour guides. Luckily I made one last effort to search around and that's where I I found antelope Valley Canyon tours. The one thing that stood out immediately upon looking at the reviews was they had no stars below three!! That was something that I had yet to see from any other of the tour companies around! Reading the reviews was pretty much exactly what I experienced as well! WALLY was/is an awesome tour guy and generally a good human being! we appreciated the time that he invested into making sure that our experience was nothing short but amazing! It was only me and my girlfriend on the tour and nobody else!!! Yes you heard that correctly!!!! What I found even more comforting was that this is a family run business so you are supporting small business! Even more importantly, these are the same people that grew up in this area! If You are concerned by being rushed through like the cattle herd and surrounded by many people not able to take a very good picture or even a rude tour guide please do yourself a favor and book Antelope Valley Canyon tours!! read more

We wanted to see stars at night while visiting Page, AZ so we decided on the Ligai Si Anii Stargazing Night Tour. It was by far the best experience my family had!!! Our guide, Ron, was wonderful and taught us so much about Navajo family and traditions while guiding us through the amazing slot canyon that opened up to the Milky Way and countless stars! It was my family (4 of us) and we all said this was the high point of our trip! We never felt rushed and Ron's knowledge of our surroundings and everything Navajo was superb! I typically don't write reviews! I was on a mother daughter trip over the 4th of July Holiday. Our first family trip in over 10 years. We wanted to see the upper Antelope canyon and chose this company cause it was not sold out on the day we wanted/needed to go. Our tour guide Tori is the best and inspired me to write this review. She is a stellar tour guide plus photographer. She was so fun, told historic stories and wsuper engaging we didn't want to leave her side! Lol. She knows how to take photos that are absolutely frame worthy, (which I hope to get signed by her somehow). She set up my iPhone for several epic shots, she also prefers Android (she knows both). We had an incredible and magical experience. Thank you so much for a memory we will never forget. Love and light to all. 10 out of 10 stars read more

Wow! Blown away by the kindness this business has exhibited. Was, by hands down, a great tour, from start to finish. Making reservations through the phone, with a friendly and patient representative was just the start of the hospitality experienced. When we arrived we were greeted and also felt very welcomed. Mike, our guide, was amazing. We learned so much about the land on the way to the canyon. We were among 6 people total with our guide - it made for a very personal experience. Our guide showed us how to use our phones to take the best pictures. The canyon hike was amazing with lots of great information, sites/sights to see, and questions answered - we would not have had this experience with one of the larger tour companies. Our tour was honestly one of the highlights of our 2 week roadtrip in AZ. Joann was a wonderful tour guide. She was generous with her time and knowledge, and friendly and personable. After seeing the crowds of people lined up at some of the other canyon tour locations, we were so grateful to have a very small tour group. With just 5 of us plus Joann, it felt like being with friends. She let us take our time in the canyons soaking it all in, and took some great photos as well. Wow! Such an amazing experience. It was not the Antelope Canyon we expected, but this probably was even better. This is a tour of a Navajo family's private property where you are not rushed or pushed during the tour. There were only three of us and had a guide John to ourselves. John drove us to get to their canyon entrance and showed us 3-4 beautiful slot canyons. It is a lot less expensive than more touristy tours. We loved it. Thanks John!!! read more

My family and I were so elated after going on this tour with Ron. Morning of our tour we were sure that it would get canceled due to high winds and the sand blowing so violently in Page. However, Ron did not want to dishearten us, our have our trip be uneventful so he had a backup plan of Deer Canyon. Let me say things work in mysterious ways as I had been reading that Antelope Canyon tours are congested, and the high tourist traffic makes it hard to enjoy the beauty of the surroundin gs. On this tour it was two families, so it was very peaceful and private. Ron drove us out to Deer Canyon, the hike itself was one hour. There were stairscases leading down 200ft into the canyon. The hike was gorgeous, and Ron gave us such informative insight about the Navajo land, plants and animals. The ladders leading out of the canyon were quite an adventure for the kids. They ladders and staircases were constructed by a retired Navajo iron worker, such amazing work! We are so greatful that we got to do such a private tour of a private canyon with such an amazing tour guide! read more

The experience in the slot canyons was awesome, but even more important the scheduler and our guide went above and beyond! We had to reschedule due to a medical issue and they were extremely kind and accommodating. Then during the tour they went out of their way to insure that my physical limitations were accommodated. My husband and I had a private tour guide and he let he take my time and go at my own pace, modifying the tour, as needed. He gave excellent information about the area and Navaho culture and history. I have wanted to see the slot canyons in Arizona since I was a little kid. I did my research and saw that Antelope Valley Canyon Tours was highly rated as well as Navaho and family run. I didn't see how we could do better. So, for our wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided to go in December! We could not have asked for a more amazing experience! We are avid hikers and wanted to see as much as we could in one day, so we picked the Rams Head Canyon Tour. It was pure magic. We saw slot canyons, but also the frost covered canyons, amazing panoramic views and the epic Mary's Gorge (Canyon). It was challenging, but also totally unforgettable. One of the best parts of the trip was our awesome guide Tristan! What an awesome human being! He told us about his family and how people lived in the area both in the past and present, he told us stories, and pointed out cool plants like the wild rhubarb. He helped us take better pictures and showed us the best to place to stand to see the best views. He is open and accepting, both willing to teach and excited to learn. The experience would have been amazing no matter what, but taking the trip with Tristan made it extra meaningful. He felt like an old friend by the end of the 6 hour hike. He gave us amazing local recommendations for things to do in Page after the trip. Don't hesitate to book at tour with this company. It might be a little more expensive, but you get a personalized experience with a knowledgeable guide. I recently took the antelope canyon tour led by Wallace, and it was an unforgettable experience. Wallace's knowledge and passion for the canyon's history were evident throughout the tour. His engaging storytelling and insightful explanations brought the canyon to life in a way that was both educational and entertaining. Beyond his expertise, Wallace was incredibly personable and attentive, ensuring that everyone in the group felt welcome and included. His enthusiasm and professionalism made the tour not just informative but genuinely enjoyable. We took the Ligai Si Anii canyon tour and actually got to see 3 slot canyons (Ligai, sheephead, and zigzag) not just one. Our tour guide Marjorie was awesome, explaining Navajo culture and life during the drive, her family's history in the area, etc. The tour lasted a little over 2 hours (not 1.5 hours as listed in the description). This was good and bad since we enjoyed the extra time in the canyons, but we also had a 2nd tour booked with them which we then had to cancel due to our schedule. Marjorie's daughter Melanie was very understanding though and issued us a refund for the 2nd tour. So just be careful about planning anything immediately following this tour. But overall we LOVED it and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Best tour ever! Wally, out tour guide, was totally in love with his land and natural surroundings. He was very informative in a casual story driven kind of way. The tour itself was amazing. There were no other people, coupled with no road or sky sounds. The trail was well marked, a tiny bit challenging but with bountiful wildflowers and interesting rocks. We appreciated not being pushed along. We were able to linger as much as we wanted inside the 3 slot canyons and along the trail. The total hike was a little under 3 miles of walking for the Wind Pebble Canyon Full Tour. The tour was 3.5 hours. read more

I was concerned when I saw the sea can as the main office in the middle of no where, but rest assured it was a great day touring the upper canyon and inside the canyon.!!! our tour guide was Herman, a Navajo local who we enjoyed our time with thoroughly !!! I got so many cool pictures and it was an adventure. We chose to ride in the truck box that had comfy seats and made it even more exciting. Once we got to our walking destination I was in awe!!!! I highly recommend this tour , as it was not like a typical touristy setting. I'll be back with friends!!! read more

I signed up for the All-day tour to Lower Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley with Tulita. There were only two of us on the tour, but they ran it anyway. Tulita was wonderful, sharing stories about family as well as about the Navajo Nation. She was very efficient connecting us with the guide and tours of the lower Antelope Canyon and at Monument Valley. Taking the guided tours meant we had access to more of the area than that which is available to the general public. It was the highlight of my trip west, and a truly amazing experience. read more

Our tour with Jean was one of the highlights of our 2 week tour into Utah and Antelope Canyon. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend this tour company. Wach person we had contact with was the nicest, most generous person. Jean shared her vast Navajo knowledge with us, from plants to eat, use as medicine, drink from, what not to touch and ok to touch. The scenery was heavenly and she knew everything about where we went. Highly highly recommend this company. read more

Loved this tour and highly recommend it to others! Enjoyed hearing the history of the company (go woman owned!) as well as the history of this Native American family. The Canyon was breathtaking and our guides took several moments to ensure everyone had great pictures to take home. No rush, no commercialism, just a fabulous day of history, funny stories, and rich history of this land we call America. We would definitely go back for one of their other tours! read more

We had an amazing time! We did the Deer canyon tour. It was very beautiful with the sun right on top! We had to climb a few ladders in there and had to squeeze through some narrow spaces in the canyon. Our guide Julia was very informative. She took us through deer canyon very patiently and gave us ideas of how to take good pictures in there. All in all a very good experience. Thank you. read more

3 of us did the 3 hour tour to 3 slot canyons. Jean, our guide, was extremely energetic and knowledgeable about the plants and the ways the Navajos used them. Another young guide gave an amazing demonstration of how the sandstone had been formed. It was a wonderful private tour experience. We feel that it must be immensely more informative and authentic, compared to the larger tours. read more

This was our favorite part of vacation so far! Our tour with Walt was fantastic! We really appreciated how he took time at all the best spots to help us get pictures. Our 7yr old loved the tour as well and it wasn't too much for her. We were the only ones, so the area wasn't crowded and we got to see everything that we wanted to and hear about Navajo Nation. 10/10 recommend! read more

Our guide Jean was very friendly and informative. She made sure that each family (there were 3 families on this tour) got time alone in the slot canyon for pictures. We did the Wind Pebble partial tour. It was absolutely beautiful! Our only regret was that we didn't book the full tour. I would definitely use this company again. read more

John was our guide into Deer Canyon -- our first exploration of a slot canyon. He was well informed not only about the canyon but also the surrounding area. We were surprised that the two of us were the "group" but really appreciated the fact that we could take our time. We highly recommend Ligai Si' Ani. read more

The great thing about this tour, besides the beautiful canyon, is the small group we were with. Other tours can have dozens of people, but we only had 8. Our guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and was quick to help us take our photos. It's off the beaten track but worth it. read more

We had an amazing experience with the tour. John was our guide, he gave us enough time to explore as he explained and showed us around on the tour. Our family of 4 was the only ones on the tour. We learnt about some Navajo history and also got to meet Hummer- the lama on the propert. read more

Wonderful tour. Ron, our guide, knows the canyons and customs from long experience. We learned much about Diné heritage and history and even about traditional uses for many of the plants. It was not at all rushed; in fact, we took more time than we had booked. Highly recommended. read more
