Amazing. Total time in canyon is approx 90 min to walk thru the crack in the earth. There are lots of steps and ladders and they are narrow and steep. We saw one pretty big guy coming back up as we were starting our way down the first set of ladders, he decided he'd never be able to come back up if he went down. Know your limits. At the narrowest parts at the bottom I could just fit thru, so it's not for everyone. Make sure you know the rules. No bags allowed. Just your camera and a small water bottle. No videos at all. No pictures on the ladders. Keep it moving. Stay with your tour group. To enter you must be with a Navajo escort from one of the 2 companies and stay with them the entire way. Make res ahead of time to make sure there's spots for your group before you get there. Only porta potties available at the meeting place, and foot pump your water to wash hands. There was no soap. Pictures and words don't describe how amazing it was. I was glad it didn't rain because if it's flash flooding they'll close the slot canyons. Although not a national park, I enjoyed it more than Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion.
I visited this wonder in December of last year with Things while on a vacation. This place has been on my bucket list for years, and I am so glad I got to see it with my kiddos. I booked this tour months in advance due to its popularity via Pink Jeep Tours in Sedona. Facts: Antelope Canyon is one of the most photographed destinations in the Southwest. Guided tours are offered year-round, but photographers time their visits to arrive at the canyon midday March through October. That's when the position of the sun creates light shafts that reach the canyon floor and illuminates pink, orange, and gold patterns on the canyon walls. A permit and a tour guide are required to explore this special place. Several authorized tour operators lead small groups to the canyons and share their knowledge about the area's history and geology. Most visitors choose the Upper Antelope Canyon tours to see taller canyon walls streaked with sunlight. The Lower Antelope Canyon tours are equally impressive, immersing visitors in the swirling embrace of sandstone walls. Our Experience Our Navajo Guide was well versed in the history of the canyon as well as ensured the safety of all guests. Further, our guide adjusted the filters on guests' cell phones in order for them to get the best photos possible on the tour (wow)! Everyone who goes on this tour will have a unique experience as each guide is different, as is each tour group one is part of. #thankyounavajonation
A true 6-star experience. Antelope Canyon is a bucket list item that I truly believe everyone should experience. It left me speechless but if I try my best to put feelings into words, it felt like an embrace- a hug. The lower Antelope Canyon is said to be a little bit harder to access as you have to go deeper into the canyon, descending stairs (a few a bit steep) where the Upper Antelope Canyon is a bit more accessible- so accessible that sometimes wildlife can creep into the canyons, from what our Navajo guide told us. I would say, if you or anyone you're with has difficulty walking or descending down stairs or ladders, I would recommend the Upper Antelope Canyon over the Lower. I came with my parents, ages 67 & 75, who were both able to do this tour but did have some difficulties on the hike over to the canyon entrance, as well as descending. Even so, they were able to make it and said it was well worth it while they still could do treks like these. Now onto the canyon experience itself- there are truly no bad views or photos taken within this treasure. They do let you know that videos are no longer allowed here and if you are caught taking any, you'd be escorted off the tour. Our guide was great, guiding us through the canyon at a good pace where we could take pictures and our time to marvel at the canyon formations. He gave the tip that most great views are missed because some people forget to take a second & stop to look back at the views behind you. The canyon has many faces and, if you let your imagination run wild, you can see many things across the canyon walls. Truly beautiful, in its shapes and color. Definitely recommend making your way to Page, AZ to this breathtaking place.
Awesome guided tour of the lower antelope canyon. Leisurely stroll through a beautiful slot canyon with views unlike any other. Our guide Aaron was super friendly, very knowledgeable about the land and evolution of the landscape and kept everyone involved for the tour. If you're in the vicinity you should check it out.
10stars for the Navajo Guides who travel deep into the slot canyon with the guests! They are knowledgeable, informative, friendly and experts with the camera! No video allowed, Navajo own copyrights for all video. Absolutely stunning slot canyon. It's a trek down 1 mile into the canyon. Lots of dips and do. Not for the faint at heart. Navajo mostly friendly at visitor center. My only concern is that they are not organized with the big groups and separating into their tours. Only 15 at a time and sometimes there is an odd number which they don't accommodate. Located Page AZ on Navajo Reservation.
Absolutely Amazing. If you haven't been out here you absolutely need to see the Antelope Canyons. They have both the Lower & Upper Antelope Canyons in Page AZ, both are absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend going to see these natural wonders. I would also suggest booking months in advance as they fill up very quickly. I tried booking about 1 1/2 months before we went and found that they were booked for the day we wanted. We were fortunate that someone in Flagstaff AZ told us to go to the Lower Antelope Canyon as it was more likely that we could possibly still get in. There is so much to see in Arizona. The Grand Canyon is massive & something that you must see to fill appreciate the magnitude of this magnificent natural wonder but to me the Antelope Canyons are absolutely magnificent. The canyons are these incredible undulating canyon walls that tower above you as you meander through. They were carved out over millions of years by erosion of the water, wind & rain. We were fortunate that we were able to walk through and see this. Each step is more remarkable than the step before. We witnessed where there had been steel stairs anchored to the canyon wall torn out by the force of the flash flood that passed through. The only evidence was the holes in the red rock where the steel anchors were ripped out by the sheer force of natures flash flood. No words or pictures can adequately describe the beauty of this canyon that only nature & God could create. If you have a chance to see the Antelope Canyons I'm sure you will be in awe. It's definitely worth your time
Super cool - although pretty pricey. I was surprised that kids 8+ are the same price as adults. Mine enjoyed it but definitely did not get the same value out of it as an adult. They do give discounts for military, but only for the ID holder. The ladders were pretty cool and added a little more adventure to the experience. We went on the 10:15 tour and the lighting was perfect but started to be a little too bright to see all the colors towards the end. Our guide, Orlando, was awesome and pointed out different shapes in the canyons and photo ops. He also played the wooden flute in the canyon which was very cool. Loved the tribal hoop dance before the tour. I was worried about the crowds in the canyon but there's plenty of bends and turns to allow you to get a photo without others in the background.

My understanding is that you must do an organized tour to see Antelope Canyon, and I would whole-heartedly encourage you to do a tour with Ken's Tours. These slot canyons are spectacular (as are just about every other slot canyon I have had the pleasure to explore) and the way light and dust hit the formations is just breathtaking. Page and the Lake Powell area have more to offer than just Antelope Canyon....but it is absolutely worth a visit to the area JUST for the canyon. Like Nike tells us...just do it! Go here and feast your eyes.
Just beautiful!! Despite it being hot outside, it's cool inside the canyon. The rocks are stunningly beautiful and it's relatively easy to walk through. There are some tight spaces, but it's a flat walk through sand the whole way through. There are tons of photo ops! read more
All I can say is if you go to Arizona, please do yourself a favor and go see Lower Antelope Canyon! I can't even put into words how phenomenal the scenery is. Our tour guide was cool and assisted the group in taking pics and making sure our cameras had the correct filter to get the best pics. Absolutely recommend doing this if it's on your bucket list. read more
Came here on a day tour from Las Vegas. It's worth coming here to see the beauty of nature. Lighting (for photos) will vary by time of day and season but worth seeing IRL. Respect the rules while you are on Navajo land. No videos and only take photos when standyon dirt/rock. Never in a metal stair. The Navajo tour guides will also help you take the best pics at the right spots. read more

Booked our tickets online the night before, finding the location was very easy. They had a bunch of tour guides that took us in groups. When we walked into it, it was amazing. The cost was high but very worth it. read more

The Antelope Canyon originally is a place for Navajo people to meditate and a holy place to communicate with the gods of heaven and earth. The tour guides are from the Navajo tribe, and they have accompanied and disciplined with achieved photographers for many years, they become master of lights in the cave or canyon. The name of Antelope Canyon is actually a mistake. The bighorn bull was mistaken for an antelope, hence the name. Lower Antelope Canyon is located underground, and there is no clue from the ground. Walking into the underground along the stairs, there is another world. The other stalactite caves had to be assisted by various colored lights. The beauty of Antelope Valley is that it is lighted completely by natural light, which outlines beautiful curves, and the scenery changes around clock in a day and throughout the year. Our tour guide Clodia showed us a photo: a beam of sunlight enters the cave, and the faint dust in the air dances in the beam, like a phantom. It is said that it can be seen.only a certain 10 minutes of the year. Clodia guided us to observe and discover the curves of the caves from various angles, and took many beautiful photos. read more

If this place is not on your bucket list, I highly recommend that it be added! What an incredible natural beauty. I appreciated Ken's Tours guide, Francis, for sharing his knowledge about the area as well as his photography skills. While we got great shots of the natural beauty, Francis shared professional type photo tips and even took our pics. Here are a few tour tips- Only clear bags allowed, use sunscreen, carry water, and show appreciation to your guide with a $ tip. Hiking shoes not required but athletic type at the minimum. You will be descending about 2-3 floors worth of narrow and steep steel steps to get to the canyon floor. I recommend making your reservations online. Depending on the time of year, reservations fill quickly. The tour is about 2.5 hours. The land is protected by the Navajo. I'm looking forward to visiting Upper Antelope Canyon next! read more

Out of the two canyons in the popular Antelope Canyon region, I would choose the lower one to explore once again. Apparently there's more light in the lower canyon at any point in time versus Upper which was weird to me, but our Navajo guide, Jesse (who is AMAZING and super informative), explained to us. We used the Dixie Ellis Tours and was the last group to go (4:45pm) into the canyon. If you're a photographer, I highly suggest going to the Lower canyon since you're going to have less fierce competition with other people in the background and will not feel like a sardine with the Upper canyon crowds. I was even able to use both my Nikon and iPhone to capture different angles and take selfies/portraits, and saw others do the same. Yeah, I felt kinda obnoxious but at least I wasn't alone :P Our guide suggested setting your ISO to 400 or trying different iPhone cam filters like Vivid Warm or Vivid Cool to bring out the deeper shades of this beautiful place. If you're lazy to edit, do those and the shots will be hella striking as it is. If you can go, go!! It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is def a bucket list item you should check off. Soak in to the geological and biological aspects because that shit is so fascinating too. If your tour guide is as dope as Jesse then you'll be in great hands. Also, listen to the rules! Don't take pics while climbing or descending the stairs bc that is dangerous and just disrespectful since you're a guest to the sacred Navajo land. Oh, and a major point to know is that the flash floods occur about every 7-8 years in this canyon, and the last one happened in 2013... So yeah, be careful if you decide to book it during their monsoon season or if the date falls on a rainy day. My original date was this rainy Sunday but I rebooked to the day prior since it was sunny and bright, so we'd be safe. The essentials to bring on the tour: -Water bottle -Camera/phone -Hat/Sunscreen Thank you to the kind Navajo tribe for hosting us visitors and showing us the drop dead gorgeous canyons! This tour was just amazing and jaw dropping from every angle. I can't wait to come back! read more
Hands down best experience I ever had. Narrow passageways that you squeeze through and steps and ladders you need to go on. It does get crowded which is why they have set hourly tours. But that didn't seem to be that bad. Just wait for others to take there pictures and wait for them to leave to take those pictures. These canyons are made because of the thunderstorms and flashfloods that happen miles away from the canyon. This place is great in the summer because it is very hot outside and the bottom of the canyon is at least 15 degrees cooler. Highly highly recommend doing this. read more
Other than the first visit to the awe inspiring Grand Canyon, our visit to Lower Antelope Canyon Arizona was just as incredible, if not more so for the fact that you can actually smell, walk, touch and feel the Earthly presence of millennia of rock layers, cracks and colors which show the long ago streams, swamps, oceans and lakes that have scarred and beautified the area for over seventy million years! And, over time, the elevation of the ground permeating upon the stratas which is now the Colorado Plateau with its incredible pigments, curves, blemeshis, shapes of what Mother Earth is. Today, this continues to change as seasonal rains with its floods, wash through from deluges from on higher ground, to continue Mother Nature's terrestrial artwork upon the landscape. Awe inspiring are words not suited to something so astonishing, and words will never describe it. One must visit, see, and personally and emotionally experience this wonder of earth's magnificence in order to 'feel' and 'absorb' its breadth, scope and soul - which makes us one with the earth. Hear and listen to the First Nations of the land when they tell us that the earth lives. To many this may just be a giant wash during rains, but to others, the earth speaks its independence, never to be tamed by man. We are residents on a celestial plain we only lease and will never own. Yet it is home! Let us love it and care for it, then we can appreciate it more. A place on earth worth seeing once in a lifetime! read more
