The Goelet A.C. Beuf Community Center is located on 35th Ave. & Pinnacle Peak Road. This is an…read moreawesome community center with several ammenities including: classrooms, a gym/weightroom, indoor track, and dance/exercise room. The indoor track is free to walk and is air conditioned - bonus for those walkers who dread the summer heat. Use of the gym is at a cost - I think around $60 for the year, so it's pretty inexpensive but the gym is pretty small. They offer a variety of fitness/dance classes, at a cost, including: aerobics, ballet, belly dance, kickboxing, pilates and yoga + many more. They also offer specialty education classes including: oil painting, computers and spanish. I have taken a few of the classes and they are pretty inexpensive and last for a few months at a time - either once or twice weekly. It seems that they offer a lot of classes and activities for kids and seniors as well. Other amenities include indoor basketball court, softball fields, soccer field, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The center is always clean and the staff is incredibly helpful. If in or close to the neighborhood this is a great community center to have access to.

The library still has its regular programming for the year round residents. There are two study rooms one can use for free for a two hour period. We recently had May the Fourth be with You (5/4) with Star Wars characters. That was a big hit. Come visit our cool surroundings. Covered and open parking with free WiFi.

I first discovered this incredible group back in January during one of their desert tours. I was so impressed by the enthusiasm, depth of knowledge, and the fascinating discoveries shared along the way that I knew I wanted more--so signing up for Talk & Taste was an easy decision. And it did not disappoint. What stood out most was how beautifully organized the entire experience was. At each stop, passionate volunteers shared unique edible desert delights--perfectly paired with just the right amount of information to spark curiosity and leave you wanting more. A heartfelt thank you to Mimi, Diane, Abby, and the many dedicated volunteers who make this "best kept secret" so special. BUYER BEWARE...DO BUSINESS WITH SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! This is Ownership that does not keep its word, nor appreciate people that make an effort to support local. It was a recent Monday and my birthday was Wednesday of the same week. I purchased a Groupon for SmashIt and was REALLY excited and looking forward to going. As instructed, I went to their website to book a reservation. Their calendar allowed me to select Wednesday and go through all the steps necessary to schedule, including a prompt that said something like "complete our waiver to secure your reservation," which I did. I thought I was set, and didn't think anything else of it. Wednesday came and my husband and I drove up to New River from Phoenix (not around the corner) and found the place to be locked. I called the phone number and nobody answered. We waited...in the heat...in the afternoon...on my BIRTHDAY. I sent a text to the number with no response. Finally, I called again and left a voicemail. Shortly thereafter (still waiting outside the storefront), I got a call back from the owner, who informed me that they are closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and that he doesn't know why their website would allow me to go through the process, but he insisted I didn't have a reservation. When I informed him of the details of the steps I went through for scheduling, he was snarky when he asked if I got a confirmation email, which I did not, and I acknowledged that. I told him how much I was looking forward to this, and that it was my birthday and his only response to that was that he would be interested to see a confirmation email and they are closed and he doesn't have staff for Wednesdays. He was condescending in pointing out that it was not his problem. He was able to see the waivers that were completed for my husband and me, and when they were created, but nothing else. Then he said "Oh...my wife must have opened Wednesdays. She's not here right now. I'll talk to her about it when she gets back and one of us will get back to you in the next little bit." Nobody from SmashIt EVER reached out to me by phone, text or email. In good faith, in my mind I gave them 24 hours to get back to me with some kind, ANY kind of response. When it didn't come, I went into my Groupon account and requested a cancellation, which you can if it's within 72 hours. I had a lengthy chat (in writing) with a Groupon rep and let them know what happened. The rep escalated the cancellation request, and when I got the email from Groupon, it stated that the VENDOR DECLINED the refund request. That means NOT ONLY DOES SMASHIT NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT THEY WERE BIDING TIME UNTIL GROUPON COULD NOT REFUND WITHOUT THEM APPROVING IT. It would have gone a long way if they reached out to me when they said they would, offering an apology, explanation or try to make it right in some way. Now I am out both the money for the experience and for the birthday experience itself. I know I could reschedule, but if this is how unethical the ownership of this company is in doing business, I would rather do business with LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE!

The house will last JUST long enough for the warranty to expire and then fall apart. The stucco is coming off in large bubbles the size of a volkswagon. ALL homes in this subdivision have been affected by shoddy building practices. My windows leak, and one has fallen out, water that comes up from under the slab, and nails are working out of the studs through the drywall. This is a latent construction issue and NOT related to the original warranty. There is a private HOA discussion board being held related to the homes and the extensive cost related to living in this area. EVERY home built in Sonoran Mountain Ranch subdivision has stucco issues and ALL stucco had to be replaced. Beware, you may be buying home that was "patched" but may need all stucco replaced and filled with mold underneath.

The tour guide Joseph was so kind and full of energy. The video you watch when you get there is a very heart felt explanation of the passion to continue this community. They own 800 acres and the property is built on 20 acres, it was built between 1971-1975 for the main spaces that are shared. 45 people live there but could range to 80. They show how the products and structure are made. I had no clue about silk casts and loved the hands on understanding and history. They have concerts, events, gatherings. Etc at the amphitheater. Check out the website. The cafe is closed. You can stay as a hotel guest overnight. They offer apprenticeship also.

Clearly what the original architect had in mind many years ago never came to fruition as it really hasn't changed in years. Is appears to be a small artist community but we didn't see anything going on at the moment so couldn't tell if it id still active or they make everything south in Scottsdale at Cosanti. There is a gift shop where you can watch a brief video on the history and learn about their wind chime creations. Personally I've received many of the wind chimes over the last 20 years for housewarmings or Christmas gifts. Each is unique. The greeter in the gift shop was friendly and stated there is a tour available as well. We didn't have time for the tour but purchased a couple of small gifts. He suggested visiting the Scottsdale location as well which is called Cosanti. I had no idea it was located in Scott's well. Will check it out.
