The quality has been on a decline for a couple years at this point. They allegedly only have one groomer who works one day a week, which truly sucks. My dog became cage aggressive as a result of the very first groomer we encountered here to start (can't remember her name) which was never an issue any other time she had been groomed elsewhere. Most recently, I had called to set an appointment for her yearly vaccines in anticipation of getting her groomed. When I requested the grooming appointment, I was told that because HE (they consistently say he when my dog is female) is cage aggressive she needs to be with an experienced groomer. This experienced groomer is also the only one available, who only works Wednesdays. This call was made at the beginning of June, and the appointment wouldn't be until June 25th. Fine, I'm okay with waiting. The 23rd rolls around and I still have yet to receive the email reminder, so I decide to call and see what was going on. The girl who picked up the phone checks the schedule and sees no appointment for my dog, and offers to reschedule for the experienced groomer on July 9th. I had already waited so long for the original appointment that I'm starting to get annoyed. I accept the appointment for July 9th. My husband then texts me that the appointment was canceled, due to the groomer being sick. GREAT. When can she get groomed? They're not sure, needed to see if they could squeeze HIM (again my dog is female, she's been groomed here for years, and they can literally see it says female on her profile) in with the manager. I'm already annoyed as it is so I ask what the solution here is, how soon I'd have to call back. I'm told they'll call me when they have a solution. Well I figured out MY solution. I went to a different groomer.

I was rushing back, literally within minutes, and called them to alert them. They told me to take her to the emergency vet. I'm sickened by them. They caused her issues and forced me to take her farther because they failed her. They should be ashamed.

Calista told me to come right away after explaining what the charge for an emergency visit would be. Didn't matter, I didn't want my kitty to suffer! They took him right in while I completed the paperwork. I'm new in town, so I do not have a veterinarian yet. I do now. They had him evaluated and told me he did have an abscess that had ruptured, but they had shaved the area, evaluated if it was in need of additional care, cleaned the would and felt he would be best served with antibiotics and an anti inflammatory to help him get comfortable. He is home, doing well, and I plan to use them for future care.

Dog left happy and his coat was soft and smelled great I actually set up my appointment with the owner on Yelp and the staff when I walked in knew nothing of that exchange! But they fit him in and I picked him up in about an hour. I will update this review as we continue to need baths and appointments. I understand the groomer isn't there all day most days and this might be tricky.

The staff goes above and beyond to take care of them, and is so reliable. We had a puppy that needed eye drops and meds, and they kept a track list of every dose for us! They truly love animals here and the dogs just have FUN! As far as safety, when you board your dogs somewhere with other animals that play, things happen. My dogs have come home with scratches and gashes, this is part of boarding people! The facility can not be responsible for every little thing that happens. Also, if your dog has aggression issues, do not board them and then expect to have no issues when you return. I HIGHLY recommend Howl-A-Day Inn for all of your boarding needs!
