This is a walk-in orthopedic office which was perfect for me since I didn't want to wait till next week to find out what was wrong with my foot. This office is across from Broward General Hospital. I was seen by Dr. Jeffrey Alent who was very nice. Before being seen by the doctor X-rays were given and then the consult started. I was shown what the problem was and a plan of action. I am glad I did not break any bones in my foot. The recommendations were to take it easy, a no-impact exercise for a while, more stretching, and more supportive shoes as well as Voltaren cream for arthritis on my ankle from a broken ankle in the past. I did pass on the physical therapy since I rather work on the foot myself. Exercises were given to improve the range of movement. Hopefully, I will recover soon.

He's patient, he listens to you and he thoroughly explains things to you, He's definitely not one of those Drs who just prescribes you medication and tells you to come back in a couple of weeks. Keep in mind that this is a walk in clinic so they can be a wait but if you have an appt the wait really isn't too bad. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is from a couple of issues relating to the staff (not calling in meds, kind of a big deal). I recently started physical therapy here and can honestly say the physical therapists really have getting you feeling better as their top priority.

The admin assistants were then dealing with a heavier set lady (who worked there) with short curly hair who spoke to them like them were dirt on her shoe. All loud and aggressive for the entire waiting room to watch and feel uncomfortable. So no wonder the front of house staff treats people coming in the door terribly when that's how they are treated internally. We wasted time filling out all documents and sitting for an hour before being told being seen here would be a liability because he had already had a surgery on his clavicle. All we wanted was to review his pain management and wound care. Not to mention the place is FILTHY from the outside. You are a dollar sign to these people. Kind, empathetic, patient and helpful. Dr. Hesse was fantastic! She did an ultrasound on my knee and I had X-rays done. She took out fluid from my knee, gave me a shot for pain and referred me for an MRI stat. Once i had my MRI, I came back to her. She told me I had a severe stress fracture in my femur a torn meniscus and inflammation on my patella. She told me I needed to stay off my feet for 4-6 weeks. So I could no longer work in my field as a Registered Behavior Therapist. She wrote me a note for work and prescribed me two different pain relievers (My request.) She was very kind and thorough with me. She didn't rush me out of the room. Very smart, empathetic and caring. Her nurse (I forgot her name) (sorry) was also very caring, kind and helpful.

Thank God for Dr Purnell Traverso, a true doctor and healer who saved me from the worst possible…read morenightmare. I am so deeply grateful for this man and his staff of loving angels. I had broken my wrist and had an experience with a "physician" who had miscast me and was attempting to alter my healing to ensure surgery was necessary. Fortunately I was blessed enough to find Dr Traverso, who rescued me and change the course of my healing back to where it should have been. I am eternally grateful. This whole office and his staff reflect the heart and intent of this true physician who takes the Hippocratic oath seriously. Every single member of his staff is excellent. I'd highly recommend him. As Yelper Krystina said, "There might be a wait, but it's worth it at the end." However, the waits or no shows can really be annoying. He said he would stop by within 30 minutes to see my partner prior to discharge from the hospital. But after an hour, he never showed up so we took a hospital discharge, left, and I took my partner home. Then, we had a follow up post-surgical appointment at Dr. Schrock's office. We waited 2 hours for him in his waiting room, which was certainly no fun and for which we were offered no excuse. So, we gave up. We made an appointment for another day and left. How that appointment will go, I don't know but will bet beforehand more of the same forever waiting game; not good.
