They have one of the lowest ratings overall of any store in Corona Del Mar at 2 1/2 stars and more 1 star ratings than any business I can find on yelp that does motorcycle jacket and boot repair. Does this man not understand that when so many people say that he is rude that maybe he really is the problem? It's the exact same story over and over again. He is rude when you come in he is rude when you leave and he doesn't do good work. You can get away with being a little bit rude if you do really good work, but they are subpar not even professionals as shown by all the photos of very unprofessional work they do. And way overpriced. He always has the same canned weak excuse for everything he doesn't remember who you are or what you are saying is not true. A piece of the hardware holding the shoulder strap onto the bag came out after 10 years of use. I took in a pair of TOD's light gray suede shoes which were only a couple of months old and are $550 shoes. I took them to be cleaned by Anthony's and they RUINED them! They are now black! I am very upset with Anthony's Shoe Repair. I complained to Greg Sermabeikian which was the person I dropped them off with and stressed they are suede. Then returned to complain to Greg since my fiance did not complain because the shoes are RUINED! (Greg...older man with one eye off center stated he was the owner) and he did not offer any resolution, no reimbursement, and not even a refund of $29 for such a horrible job! I recommend NO ONE go there for any type of service especially suede shoes based on the service I received! How very sad. Serious lack of concern or care. Zero stars!!! read more

Although I have no problem with the work quality at Anthony's I will no longer step foot in this business. The gentleman at the counter is extremely mean and rude. When I rejected all the extra things he wanted to push on me to pay for he got mad and rudely suggested I polish it myself. And he was rude againwhen I picked it up again. This is not the first time I have had this experience. After reading some reviews I see this is a common occurrence. Maybe he should retire he is obviously pissed off that he is working there. I usually bring my boss's shoes to Daniels Shoe Repair & Luggage next door for repair and he is Amazing! This time, I tried to use a coupon for shoe repair at Anthony's and the shoes came back semi-fixed and totally dirty. I have taken about 15 pairs of shoes to Daniels and they are fixed properly, completely cleaned like new, and the owners are amazing. My boss made me take her shoes from Anthony's to Daniels for a proper cleaning since he doesn't let shoes leave his shop without looking pristine (whether you paid for cleaning or not).... I have been taking all my shoes and purses to Anthony's Recently I just dropped off my $2000 Prada purse to have handles repaired I stopped bye twice and looked at purse repair both times the repair looked like a small child had finished work and they wanted $75 I showed them and they even agreed it didn't look good A month goes by and I call them with the response. Previously I was always very happy with Anthony's. I brought shoes their often for various repairs. Unfortunately something must have changed there because my fiancé brought my boot in a couple of weeks ago for a zipper repair. They required payment upfront ??? That was strange already to begin with but I thought ok, maybe that had issues with some customers before. But then when he picked up the boot again, it was $70!! for a zipper repair. They said somebody had tried to fix it before and that made it more difficult. It was actually them themselves who repaired it before! When asking if they would work with us on the repair cost due to the fact that they repaired it before, the person behind the counter just smiled and didn't answer. I brought some shoes in on Monday to have the straps loosened and told them I needed to wear them Saturday. Shoe Repair was good, but overall Customer Service by Chris , who handed the repaired shoes without showing what was done & when asking for it, he seemed annoyed to show the work that was done. Chris was very unfriendly when being called out - sad - customer service does not have to be so difficult , o Interesting response, in every business customer's experience should be helpful for improvement as no customer service is 100% perfect - if it cannot be seen as something to learn from instead of making excuses than there is for sure a problem with management. They wanted to charge me $60 to clean a purse. When they were done the purse looked the same as when I brought it in. They said it wouldn't be perfect but never said it would look the same as when I brought it in. They would not give me back my purse unless I paid them. Eventually had to get police and my lawyer on the phone to get them to reduce the fee to $30. While they were processing payment, I was talking to the police and didn't look at receipt and they charged me $35 instead of the agreed $30. Definitely dishonest people. read more

This place is the most unprofessional experience I have ever had living in Newport Beach for 40 years. I took an over $850 new Hermes men's belt to make it smaller. I was out of the exchange period which is why I didn't change it in the store. And they assured me they would do it in such a way that is unnoticeable, just like as if it were untouched. When I went to get the belt, I was shocked that they just cut and spliced it!! Literally cut and glued it together, leaving a horrible seam! How can you say you're the best leather repair expert and then take a fancy Hermes belt and just cut and glue it?? Then they began to scream and yell at me when I complained and said that their work was garbage. They literally kicked me out of their store after asking me to pay for it. But with the hefty price tag that Anthony's always has, I expect a few things in return: quality work, efficiency and good customer service. At Anthony's you get none of the above. Today was the third time I went to pick up shoes ($130 worth of work) and the shoes were not ready at the specified pick-up time. Apart from that, when I walked in, no one was in the store. I realized the guy was out at the curb talking to someone in a car. He saw me and nodded, then I proceeded to talk to someone outside for 5 more minutes. He came back into the store and asked for my tickets, looked for the shoes for another ten minutes, then proceeded to tell me they were not yet ready, and could I come back in an hour?! ZERO ZERO ZERO - ACTUALLY NEGATIVE ZERO STARS!!!! Bad attitude, no customer service skills, shoddy work. This is for the people that do the work. I took my Dainese leather riding pants to Anthonys to have velcro sewn on for knee pucks. They are an "AUTHORIZED" Dainese Warranty Repair Center - which makes you think they have seen plenty of pants with pucks. John sewed the velcro on to the shin, not the outside of the knee where they are supposed to be. He had multiple suits in his store to use as a reference. He didn't. I told him over the phone (I live in SD) the velcro was in the wrong location. He took this personal and yelled at me that I shouldn't be telling him how to do his job and to never bring anything back to his store. Then he HUNG UP ON ME. I complained to the Dainese Warranty Rep - Art Aguilar at the Warranty Department (949-645-9500 X 110 - warrantyusa@dainese.com - for those who need it). Art had to mediate this situation, go to the store, show John where the velcro was supposed to go. I had to ship the pants back to the store and wait even longer to get them back. This whole process took about 2 months. The other service performed was to lengthen the pants. Overall, they did a decent job on this. However, there was a hole in an area that wasn't sewn properly. I asked them to fix this when they were fixing the velcro. Unfortunately, they didn't. What he did do - he sewed my liner into the leather so the shin guards would not fit, but did not even touch the area where the hole was. On a good note - the owner paid my postage both ways to have it sent up and back, gave me $40.00 for the hassle of John not fixing the hole (not willing to send my pants back a 3rd time just to have them messed up by something else) and overall, tried to fix everything that was wrong. The main issue is that you can't change someone's behavior that is rude, no customer service, not willing to work with customers etc. John is a HUGE liability and apparently gets away with this on a regular basis. read more

Since I'm a small business owner I know how a review can be image to devastate/enhance a business. let's just skipped to the final pick up experience, picked up my leather suit at the promised date, and evidently, the work that is promised was not perform. I do encourage others to see these pictures before you head into your repairing your leathers. In the end, I'm not satisfied with the work they have performed, plus, I'm very disappointed the source of referral as well, (brand of this suit), I may not want to buy this brand of stuff anymore. Anthony's has been around forever, or so it seems. But for however long it's been around, it never seems to get any better. Because it's close to home, I find myself dropping off something for repair, only to be disappointed again. On a recent stop, I had a tennis shoe that needed a patch over the toe fabric. Anthony's was close, so I thought I'd drop it off. I walked in and showed it to the guy at the counter. He looked at it, said no problem, let me ask John. John looks at it for 3 seconds and says "$19.00." I said how long? John said "next week." OMG, $19 for a patch! And it takes a week? It wasn't the money, it wasn't the time -- it was the principal. How stupid did he think I was? I stood there for a minute, picked up my shoe and said "forget it." I left. Later that day, I was in Tustin. I saw a shoe repair place on 1st Street and Tustin Avenue (Larwin Square Shoe & Boot Repair). I walked in and asked the nice asian lady (owner) "how much to repair." She said "how much do you want to pay." That was a new one. Feeling a bit guilty, I said $8? She said "no problem." "How long," I asked. "Tomorrow," she said. I picked it up the next day. Done. $8. Perfect! No wonder asian-owned businesses are taking over! If they ever come to CDM, Anthony's will be done, too. Finally, side note: about 5 years ago, I was spring cleaning and took 5 pairs of shoes to Anthony's for polishing. They lost them all. No kidding, all of them. Gone. It took me 3 months to get them to pay me the replacement cost. It was amazing; how do you lose 5 pairs of shoes? But they did. And I am still going back? After this last round, no more. Chris ( would not give his last name ) gave me the worst customer experience one could have after 30 years of business with both locations of Anthony's !!!! He was stubborn, EXTREMELY LAZY, prideful, and intimidating and the very simple request to help identify a color was mocked and denied . He laughed at me as I left and did the same on my follow up-phone call to speak to the owner . This low-life does not belong in retail nor in my city of CDM.
