There is definitely something for everyone. I left with a sequined cocktail dress that I intend to wear to my grandson's wedding ( so you can guess my age group) as well as an elegant top to dress up a pair of white jeans. Both set me back under $120. Amazing. There's an Emanuel jacket that I may have to return to buy. It was under $50. While I was there, the younger set was busy finding tiny dress treasures and YSL handbags. This was a sophisticated/ mixed age group. I overheard many shoppers tell Erin that they had been eagerly anticipating the store opening as they watched the changes she has made to the property over the past few months. You can tell she loves her store. Erin was beaming as she helped shoppers put outfits together. One woman looked so gorgeous in a long sequined evening gown that her companions audibly gasped. When the woman questioned whether her daughter ( the bride ) would think it suitable for the wedding party, Erin encouraged her to bring it home to physically show her daughter! WHAAAT? I wondered if she knew her personally, but, no. Erin told me it was just the right thing to do. You cannot believe the inside! Paint pens are available to write messages on the bright pink bathroom walls. Those left there after just one day were so cute. So there's something for everyone and you'll have fun shopping...for a change. Remember those days? They are no longer in the rear view mirror. Go to Newtown and see for yourself.

After browsing in here multiple times over the last few years, it seems to be the owner's decision to cater to tiny people, or else perhaps they bring in very few pieces in a true and ample 12 which sell out very fast. Yes, there were some seasonal ponchos today that would fit any size/ any height and separate tops that would work for multiple heights so long as you have thin arms and a minimal bust. Interestingly the one sales lady working today was trying hard to convince a 5 ft tall customer that the poncho was "perfect for her if she would drape it differently" and a bit of creative styling ensued. No, in truth it looked awful on this petite woman like she was trying to get out from under a big blanket. Well the customer had enough common sense to follow her instincts "this is not for me", despite urges from the saleslady to the contrary. I suspect the saleslady sensed big sale potential as many things were being tried on and talked about for Ms petite and her adult daughter as gifts. I however, was completely ignored. Meanwhile, I poked around on my own, never once asked what I was looking for, while the declassee gum-chomping saleslady catered exclusively to the other woman. While I was approached for her to take the two items I found into the dressing room, she never inquired how I was doing and even in my departing "good-bye, didn't stop talking to the other woman or bother to thank me for stopping in. Parking: I parked behind the building where the strong stench of rotted garbage permeates the air from over-filled and uncovered garbage dumpsters. Has Briarcliff no sanitation codes?

I had a very upsetting experience at Torrid (Danbury Fair Mall) today with the manager. Yesterday I…read morehad purchased many items from the store with one of the sales representative. I got home and realized two big issues with my order. 1. I got sale items where you buy one and get two free. The third item was never scanned but was given to me, and I got charged for the second item (not free). 2. I bought two sets of rings, buy one get one free, and the rings were not placed in the bag. I returned to the store today to receive the credit back for the 2nd sale item, scan in the 3rd sale item, and ask for the ring sets. The manager was very rude and was extremely ineffective. I brought back the sale items and the receipt with me in a bag. She said that she could not fix the items that were on sale unless we brought back all the items that I purchased. I asked her to please return the two sales items and ring up all three together and apply the buy one get two free sale. She refused and said that it would cost more money for me and that she could not do it without the rest of the clothes. I told her that I was hoping to get this handled because her sales representative made a mistake the day before and that I did not want to have to go back home AGAIN and come back. She reluctantly agreed and returned the items and re-scanned them and it worked out perfectly. I should not have to convince and reason with her to complete this task to get the money back that I deserve. On top of this, I mentioned that I had never received the ring sets. She stated that she could do nothing about this because "anyone could come in and lie about that", which insinuated that I was being untruthful. I told her that I was a valued customer with a credit card and have spent thousands of dollars at their store and I would like her to please look around if they were left behind. She checked a few drawers and told me that she does not know what to do. I said I would like money towards the store in place of the missing rings. She refused to give me store credit and restated that "there was nothing she could do" so I left extremely upset. Not only was the manager rude, not helpful, and inadequate in her position, but she also made it unlikely for me to return to the store even though I love the clothes. I do not appreciate the way that this situation was handled with the manager and I hope that torrid can speak to her or do something about this. It is highly inappropriate to be spoken to and handled as stated above.

I was nothing but polite throughout. Later she said she'd call the owner to explain away the poor review like it didn't matter. I have no opinion on the products this is about the interaction.
