It's a decent sized store and there's not only clothes but super cute accessories and goodies. I could spend all of my money in this store... Staff were friendly and helpful. They got my dressing room set up right away so we didn't have to carry my items around the store. The quality is what you pay for here, and it's worth it. Love Anthropologie. But this store is awful. The last two experiences were so unprofessional. There's a brunette very pretty with curly hair behind the checkout. Extremely rude, mocks people and laughs at them. My husband and I were in shock! It was sad to watch. Then there was a blond girl taking an order over the phone (she was talking to a Margaret) using a sweet voice while rolling her eyes. It was disturbing. The store is beautiful and the layout is very open. Usually I don't have an issue finding my size. The only thing I don't care for is how the sale items are jammed in the corner. I've visited another location with a separate room designated for sale items making it easy to browse. The staff here is so so so so so rude and annoying and it's happened to me on multiple occasions to the point where it's just been my final straw. I was trying to find a birthday dress and some outfits for when I go home to Europe and I was asked and counted a total of 7 times by the same associate and 2 more to start a fitting room. I explained several times I just wanted to make sure the dress matched maybe any jewelry I was looking at to pair it with. Or a clutch for my outfits. And they would not stop. Iv worked retail for over 11 years and this is just a way staff prevents theft and trust me I understand but I was not doing anything suspicious.... I'm not going to spend $175 to match with a pair of earrings that are $75 and hate it when I go home... like please just relax!!!! Oh my, what can I say about Anthropologie that no one else has already said. It's a beautiful location with beautiful home decor and unique Bohemian clothes items. I remember watching a TV show a long time ago about how they get their antique in-store display furniture. It was all very interesting about how they travel to Europe and find great items. They restore the furniture and use them in all their stores. Each store has unique display furniture and they can be purchased for a steep price. Everything is beautifully displayed and eye-catching, but so way overpriced. That's the biggest negative of all. I think the only people who pay full price for these items and shop here on a regular basis are the Tampa socialites and rich tourists. I've found a few unique items in the past that I paid full price for (like hair clips) but this would never be a routine one-stop shop for me. This past week I did actually find a few things that were 30% off the red sticker price. The do have a sales rack in the back of the store near the dressing room. I found a simple 100% cotton t-shirt with a botanical print on it that was originally priced at $58.00. Yes, holy crap Batman! The sticker price was 39.95 and I got it for $27.96. Not quite a bargain, but it was at least affordable. I also got more of the hair clips that I like for $10.46. The set is usually sold for $14.95. It's worth it to me because they are well made. Other than that, I just walk around the store just to browse and admire the decorative items. As other have mentioned, there are always sales associates roaming throughout the store who are very helpful when you have questions. They greet you sometimes when you walk in (not always). When it comes to cashing out, it's still a joke. Only one associate assisting a line of people. I'd think opening up a second wouldn't be a problem. They have extra registers but they are never in use. Just the one. They do have a lane now where you can form a line. That was different from the last time I shopped there. It was unclear because I didn't really see anything that said it was a line, but okay. I didn't know about it until the associate politely told me that the line is over there as I was waiting behind the one person that was checking out. Everyone else followed after that. Maybe some signage with big letters would be helpful. Then again, maybe it's too unsophisticated and tacky to have one in this store. I'll be back next year around this time again. The Christmas season is a great time to shop at Hyde Park Village. There were many sales for some of those unique gift items that you can't find any place else. Not so much at this store, but there are other reasonably priced stores nearby and great restaurant options. read more

My shopping experience was after the Covid shut down. They may have gotten rid of whoever was nasty in the past. There a lovely little Caucasian woman (brown maybe strawberry blonde hair) she was so nice to me and my mom (both Hispanic). I knew what I wanted and couldn't find it on the floor. She went to the back twice and found it. She also got excited for me when the bags I bought were on sale. She even gave use extra tissue paper for the item so we can use the store bag as a gift bag for item for Christmas. She mentioned that this year she is being conscious about recycling store bags and using them for gift giving. Great idea. I have a love/hate relationship with this Anthropologie store. I love the wide variety of clothing options with unique fabrics and interesting cuts and styles. They have everything: dresses, tanks, jeans, shorts, and even some sleepwear. They also have a wonderful selection of home goods including plates, mugs, glassware, towels, door hardware, pillows, and so much more. Anthropologie is also the perfect spot to pick up a nice gift for a friend with a good selection of coffee table books, jewelry, note pads, and other assorted knick knacks, perfect for making almost anyone happy. However, I hate their expensive price tags. I do not mind paying more for quality, but when a cotton tank top is priced at $58 (or higher!) that's just insane. Fortunately, they usually have a few sale racks where I have found some cute items; I never buy anything there at regular price. I also hate check-out at this store. No matter how many workers are wandering around the store, they never have enough cashiers open. I often think their goal is to have a line of people waiting to pay for merchandise. This sometimes deters me from going in - no point trying things on if I'm trying to make a movie and can't get out quickly. This particular store is very large, with everything laid out well and easily accessible. Plenty of fitting rooms with diligent monitors make trying on a breeze. I do love this eclectic fun store. There are woman's clothes and housewares here. It's a fun hip style. The clearance is the back of the store where you can find all types of deals depending on the time of year. I definitely love the clothes' styles here as well as the housewares. Went in to Anthropologie as it is a usual haunt for essentials -and I had a gift card - woo hoo! Left with mixed emotions and mostly not anxious to return, when normally Anthro is a slam dunk great experience. Sadly, here's why... Store Layout / design / ability to find items more difficult than most Anthro's - whether your experience comes from a large/major city or smaller shop. The most frustrating aspect was the mixing of "forever 21" style items (let's face it long time devotees, they have sacrificed quality to bring in lower price points) with the unique/ boutique styles - forcing professional and more mature shoppers to sift through all the "junk". This store does not carry higher end jewelry, specialty handbags, or shoes Notably absent was anyone approaching 40 or above to assist mature shoppers - who in my first observation - made up the majority of those in the store during the week day I was there. This was the first time I noted the bias at any Anthro store. Also, I was taken back that a young man was assisting in the dressing rooms. He was sweet, respectful, and perfectly nice. This is obviously not an issue for the less reserved, I simply note it so sensitive shoppers are aware. Additionally, while the store was *fully* staffed with respect to shopping and restocking activity, it was a surprisingly long wait to purchase - there was only ONE girl at the cash register. The woman behind me was not happy either. On the upside, I had help from an amazing girl who could be my next personal shopper and I adore that. Once I recover from the disappointment, I'll try again and hope to post an improved 3-4 star rating! read more

I love the brand and browsing the stores with all of the fun and unique items and gift ideas. Yes, their prices can be high, however, I use discretion in my purchases. I have been shopping Anthropologie for years and have ordered a lot of items online when lived in states where there was not a brick & mortar store. The reason for the low review is not just the prices, but the customer service; I agree with some of comments concerning sales associates. In my opinion, it is their inability of projecting a welcoming environment, at the Hyde Park location, or ensuring the guests visiting their stores feel like a valued customer. As an example, the lady that rang up my purchases left me feeling uncomfortable, it was as if she was "looking down on me". There are a lot of fun stores in Tampa and Florida. Anthro is always a favorite store and one of the reasons I fly back to the mainland! This store is clean, gorgeous and stands out as having one of the biggest sale sections I have seen! The store is divided half and half: Home Goods and clothes/Jewelry. both of these sections are combined together in the sale department at the back of the store. The service is stellar and sales people are always more than willing to help without being pushy and annoying. The dressing rooms have plenty of space and comfy chairs and there are couches up front for the unwilling male shopper to rest while you spin around in an overly expensive antiqued twirly dress.... read more

They had an outdoor chair that was 80% rusted yet the price tag on it was over $1000. How does that make any sense? Their clothing is just as bad. Tops for over $100. I gotta admit I love this place - and love it more for being next to Restoration Hardware. Where RH is spare, clean, uncluttered - anthropologie is the opposite. Cluttered, fancy, visually a riot of color... and yet, it works. If you are doing a house renovation, this place, unexpectedly, has interesting glassware, door and drawer pulls, and stuff for walls and baths. Plus, I seriously need to find a (new) girlfriend who looks great in these filmy, frilly fabrics. read more

Everything is perfectly laid out and everyone who works there is helpful and friendly. The place always smells amazing because of their top-notch collection of candles which I can never resist stocking up on! I rarely buy clothes here because of the price tag but I love seeing all of the cute trinkets, books, aprons, etc. It doesn't feel like shopping, it almost feels like an interactive museum because everything is so beautiful! While it's not the largest Anthropologie I have been to, it's wonderful that it's here. I want to move in, plain and simple. The antique furniture, the vintage inspired linens, the apothecary section and the oh so incredible selection of kitchen accessories make me smile each and every time. The clothes are stunning, the jewelry unique and the selections to die for. I really wish I could move in, no joke - sans people walking in. Take your time when you visit. So much to look at and imagine it all in your abode. Also welcoming is that the sales people are super nice, they are definitely NOT pushy. That makes it 5 stars in my book. read more

This store sells things for women, but not just clothes. There are pillows, books cut into the shape of letters, ceramic rolling pins, coat hooks and drawer pulls, candles, and $38 kitchen towels. Beautiful stuff here. Pretty clothes, quirky clothes, well-made clothes, sexy but not slutty clothes can be found here along with jewelry and even shoes. I surely love pretty much all of it but for the life of me can't figure out why it costs what it does. Even the clearance stuff that's DAMAGED is outrageous! However, if you wait for the after-holiday sales, the clearance table which is already marked down gets an additional 25% off and you might be able to score some Christmas gifts for next year or some birthday presents. Maybe I'm just cheap but I can't see paying $48 for a T-shirt unless it's woven of unicorn fur by damn fairies or elves. Honestly some of the stuff is very similar to what can be found on Etsy. It costs more, but you can actually check your items out and won't have to pay shipping. read more

So many cute things and tons of cute clothes. This is the only Anthropologie I've been to. I love the stuff, but it's so expensive. I've never bought anything, but I love looking. The place smells great. One thing to note is some of the beauty products are overpriced here. For example, rose bud salve in a tin and a tube are MUCH more expensive here than they are at Sephora (I think other beauty stores carry it to). If you aren't white and dressed to a certain standard, the staff (especially "this one self-important woman that considers herself a furniture specialist/designer") will follow you around the store harassing you with questions, suggest you look at the sale section/lower-priced, and tell you to get off the furniture (even though the whole purpose of display furniture is for it to be tried). I would honestly give this place zero stars if possible. In conclusion, I would recommend another location if you want a shopping experience that isn't classist, racist, and invasive. read more

I have shopped Anthro many times (in stores and online) and was highly disappointed in this location. I came to exchange a broken barrette. I purchased a set of barrettes less than two weeks ago and one broke the first time my daughter wore it. I brought in the broken barrette hopefully to swap it out for another one. Clerk was arrogant and rude and told me I couldn't unless I had brought in others from the set. I explained I just wanted to swap it out and that I lived an hour and half away, so I would not be able to bring back. He discussed with the manager and she told him to tell me to call customer service. They were in my view as they were talking and she never came to me to explain the policy. I called customer service in front of them and passed the phone to the original clerk as customer service wanted to speak with them and approve the exchange. I was also there to purchase some knobs for a friend of mine. He just threw the knobs in the bag without wrapping them so then I had to ask him to wrap them so they wouldn't break. I then saw a cute little ring dish on sale. I should've not purchased anything else but against my better judgement I did. Original clerk was on phone and manager was standing by register and literally turned around and walked away when I came to register. They refuse to make eye contact with customers and treat customers poorly. The two employees I encountered were ARROGANT and rude. No excuse! I have shopped the Orlando store and will continue as they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. read more

This is a good Anthropolgie and I agree with Tu-Van, they do have good sales. I have been there a number of times to get presents for my fiance and can usually find something in the sales that she would dig. Their non-sale clothes are made very well and are always beautiful (well usually), but they are way to expensive for a simple painter such as myself. I also dig going their to check out their displays, furniture, dinnerware and even books. Recently I got an awesome history of costume book there and they have an elisabeth peyton book I have been after for some time. People are nice and helpful....like all places like this though there is way too much smelly things in the air, sometimes I can only spend 20 min in there with out running out for some fresh air. read more

I love Anthropologie and go there in other cities when traveling. I was there with my granddaughter today, in the Tampa Hyde Park Store, and we found the perfect holiday blouse for her. There was no line, so we stood in the appropriate place and as time went on, there was a line behind us. We waited for 15 min as the employee and customer conversed. After a while the employee went to the back of the store and came out with another employee and the 3 of them talked. At no point in the 15 min did anyone look our way. We were totally ignored. Eventually, a 3rd employee came out from the back and chatted with the others, and after about 10 more min, looked at us and said "next". She then asked for my membership number, and I said I didn't want to use it, I just wanted to pay and leave, and I didn't appreciate waiting so long. She looked at me with disgust and said, "for your information, there are only a few of us able to check you out, and i had to come from the back to check you out" All of the 3 "check out" employees had an attitude of arrogance and we in line felt we were a nuisance. The problem must surely be management and poor training. I left feeling so upset that we were happily shopping for fun and were treated so rudely. read more

Love this place! I love the whimsical prints, unique designs, distinctive Anthropologie scent that lingers in the clothes when you take them home, and no hassell return policy. A lot of dresses come with pockets which are a great! They do free shipping from the warehous if ordered in store. The Tampa store is not as big as the NYC or San Francisco stores which have rooms devoted to sales. The only thing keeping my rating a 4 instead of a 5 is that numerous dresses, shirts, and skirts, have required me to resew the hems! Seriously, dresses with original asking prices of $150+ should not fall apart after the first few washes in the handwash cycle and require stitching and I've had a few items get holes in them, too with infrequent wearings. But still, it's my favorite store ever! On Black Friday, they gave out poppers containing prizes and I won $100! Can't beat that! read more
