Just drove an hour to visit this store on Memorial Day and brought my dog with me since the yelp page says specifically that dogs are welcome. I arrived and was told immediately because they have a new policy in which dogs are NOT allowed. Poor business practices and extremely inconsiderate to potential customers. My partner took a quick look around the store and as a person who is in the business of antiques, this mall is mediocre at best. read more

How many years have we driven past this treasure trove, only to say, 'One of these days...'? Well TODAY was finally that day and I wish I hadn't put it off. I've visited many antique stores with varying booths, but Antique Adventures is definitely one of the tidiest and cohesive to explore. Booths are clearly marked and associates walk the aisles should guest have any questions or need assistance. I did! I asked to please see a vintage MCM bar/stereo system that was hidden in a console. 'Of course!' was the quick answer. The piece made my heart happy, being a fan of MCM, but the owner/seller had it attached to a electric "fireplace," trimmed in "brick" that seemed more 80s. I asked if it was just resting atop for display purposes but, no, I was all one large piece. Bummer. I'm guessing the top console lost contact with its legs and this was an improvised fix. I have been interested in finding a record player and a bar cart to match our Mid Century furnishings, so this may have fulfilled both wants, but it was a pass. Very cool, though. Hubs found a treasure he had been seeking for a couple of years, a DVD of a "no longer broadcast-able" episode of "30 Rock". For a couple of bucks, he was a happy hunter. LOADS of cool jewelry and also some true estate sale finds. I'm always surprised when something I see jolts a memory from the recesses of my foggy brain. A couple of weeks ago it was a Raggedy Ann and Andy lunchbox priced at $30 - WITHOUT the thermos! Mind you, this was the era where we couldn't drop our thermos for fear of the interior glass shattering, resulting shards of glass slicing our throats with the first gulp. Hmmm....wonder if that was one of those "stories" meant to scare us into caring for our possessions??? Anywho, seeing that lunchbox awoke something and I shuddered to think why the thermos was missing. Today, of all things was an unusual wall hanging sculpture of a branch of flowers, painted gold and white that hung over the head of my yellow daisy canopy bed. Someone else had THAT hanging in their home?!? Weird to think and made me chuckle. Aside from the friendly folks and easy to navigate aisles, there are a handful of parking spaces in front, but PLENTY of parking in the back lot and along the street. We'll definitely keep Antique Adventures on our "to visit" list for each time we're in the Ventura area. Maybe I'll be a lucky treasure hunter like Hubs. Cheers! "CC" read more

Honestly if you always pass by this place and always wondered if it was worth visiting. It's a yes! They have so many things for everyone and it's not expensive. The stuff is good quality and better than buying something overpriced at the thrift store or online. If you're into shabby chic, they have a lot of that stuff here. This is an antique store through and through, and you almost get lost in the store. I wasn't complaining though. There's a lot of history alongside the knick knacks. That's worth a visit at least. I did not experience being shadowed by any staff. In fact, I never saw the staff leave the registers. I only overheard one person ask about a price and can confirm that another review was correct that they do not recheck prices under $100. Each stall seems to be from a different vendor. I cannot say much about the prices, as we really weren't interested in much since we're actually trying to downsize. I did get a crystal though, but it seemed fairly priced based off other crystals I get once in a while. read more

AAA+++ Ok, it has been too long since i made a spontaneous decision to take pleasure drive with my darling wife, without planing, when my wife comented she was inteested to see that antique store, i made my exit from the freeway. The most impressive message i want to convey is this, "there are bargains to be had",,,, The merchandise really is diverse and although i often scour thrift stores, i qiickly realized i was cheating myself out of both time and money because weather it is a specialty like collecting old tools from a byegone erra or crystal chandeliers, or anything, you can find something for even a lower budget If youre from another country just visiting, this is the place to find a unique gift that will convey meaningful sentiments as you share a hand picked thoughtful gift from your journey. Of course i could easily find items outside my budget,,, but all things considered this shop covers the gamut of decades to centuries, and prices beginning at just a few dollars. Im anxious to return after i save some more from my allowance, this is a worthy place to spend it. I have driven by here for years, but since the freeway was clogged, I took the Ventura Blvd exit off Johnson Blvd and found plenty of parking front and back. I was greeted by the front desk as I entered this place filled with fun nostalgic clothing, housewares, furniture, and glassware. Each little cubicle holds a plethora of treaures from all eras. I had been wanting to go here since I moved to 805 a year and a half ago. Lots of stuff to look at for sure, but the lurking by staff disguised as "customer service" was enough for me to walk away from the $300+ purchase I was going to make. I must not have been dressed nice enough because some woman walking around didn't take her eyes off me, asking me 2-3 times "if I needed help finding anything" yet paid no mind to the elderly women behind me who genuinely looked like they needed help. Not long after I picked up two items I considered buying, another employee swooped in to "hold them for me at the register." I get the system, but I was confused because I didn't even know if I wanted the things; I was thinking about it and at that point could no longer hold them or see them anymore until I was supposedly done shopping. Then again the woman appeared, still ignoring everyone else around to only focus on helping me. Maybe don't wear Raider gear to this store and they won't assume you're shoplifting overpriced garage sale items. I went home and bought similar/identical things on eBay for cheaper anyways, so this place saved me some money in the end and I still got what I wanted. Thanks read more

Freeway close! Easy to see from the Freeway on the way to Ventura. The shop has several vendors selling different items in booths. They also have furniture. Prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and full of smiles! A friend of mine bought a table and chair set and they were able to deliver it to her. I love stopping here to browse! Don't buy anything from the record table. The prices are absurd for junk records. I was here last year and I stopped by again this week and i can say that all the records from last time were still in the same spot. Just with a 10% price reduction sticker on a few. Records are scratched and beat up. A $10 record for some reason is priced at $75 here. Decrease prices and maybe you'll sell something? Common business knowledge if you didn't already know. read more

You can't really window shop here at all without one of the owners creepily hovering over you. By the time you've realized everything is way overpriced they kick you out for loitering. They're very suspicious of younger people and people of color. Overall there's a really oppressive atmosphere here and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Coolest place ever! My girlfriend and I spent 4 days going through everything. So much to look at so much to buy. We even took our husbands one day and they found things they wanted for our homes. We stopped in on our way to visit family and instantly fell in love! First, the employees really care about their shop! They are constantly cleaning so the store does not have that awful musty/moldy/rejected smell. Each of the booths are well presented and easy to shop. There is a wall of tin signs that are fun to look at. Plenty of Pyrex, games, furniture, and figurines. One of the shops has tons of gently to rarely ever worn Hawaiian shirts. The front of the store has old fashioned candy to add to your purchase. This shop takes card and cash payments. read more

This is a place that anyone and everyone can have a great time just window shopping. I've passed this many times while going north on the 101 and have always been intrigued and curious as to what kind of antique store has such bright flashing colored lights. The first time I passed it I thought it was bar or club and to my surprise, the store's name was at the center of the lights, Antique Adventures. I decided to stop in and check this place out. There are antiques of all kinds and there's something in this store that will spark conversations and take you for a stroll down memory lane. I'm glad I did the sports memorial was interesting and what caught my eye first, but the old board games and toys are what took me back in time. The staff were extremely friendly and greeted me both coming and going. They were attentive without being overbearing while I was perusing the aisles, occasionally asking if I had any questions. One of the owners baked a double chocolate cake and was offering a free slice to everyone that came in that day. If you're ever in the area and have an hour or two, to kill, stop here and check out what they have for sale. They are constantly getting rotating the collection so you'll never know what surprises they'll have on the day you walk in. read more

When asked about this the owner said they have had a lot of shoplifting lately (sounds like he needs to learn the difference between causation and correlation). A clean and organized antique shop! Actually lots of cool stuff. Fun to browse. But I'm only giving 2 stars because the records on the table were severely inconsistent in pricing. Records that sell for $10 online are priced at $45-60 here. On the other hand, I found 2 very rare records that sell for $80-100 online that I bought for $30 each. Not sure why the vendor doesn't do their homework on these but if you don't know anything about records, you are taking a gamble. If you don't care about over spending, then it will be heaven for you. Also be sure to check each record thoroughly. Lots of them have big scratches that could cause skipping. The records in the big glass case in the back: don't even bother. They are all scratched and dirty and beat up. I bought 1 that looked decent and the entire record skipped throughout. Overall an ok place to look around and I saw some stuff form different vendors that are priced reasonably. Just be careful with the records. read more

Very nice antique store located just off the 101. The store is large, well lit and nicely organized. Everything is very easy to see and almost all the prices are easy to read without getting help opening up a case. There are plenty of cases with fancy things in them, but usually I could find the prices without assistance. The staff that did help my friend and I were very enthusiastic and friendly, offering help without being asked. All of the stuff for sale was quite nice too, clean and in very good condition considering age. There were some modern things and some reproductions but the large majority of the goods for sale were vintage or antique. Prices are reasonable for the goods, though every display is by a different vendor so some areas were higher priced than others. That said, I definitely expect to stop here again. read more

This was a great stop even though I didn't make a purchase. The exterior screams, "Stop here!" and for good reason: its painted like a red barn and it reminded me of a few places like Red Barn Antiques in New Jersey. So, stop I did. It has the typical booth-style layout with just a ton of stuff. Whether you're looking for trains, WWII helmets, old Hawaiian shirts, or Mickey and Minnie Mouse, it's all here and its clean. I had fun walking around and taking in the memories. Check it out. Totally worth the stop...even if you're just sniffing for a bargain. read more
