Terrible experience with this jeweler. Unprofessional, and borderline dishonest. They offered to obtain the appraisal and certification, and we put down a $200 deposit on a ring so they wouldn't sell it in the meantime with the understanding that if we weren't satisfied with either the certification or the appraisal the deposit would be refunded, less the costs associated with having them done. We were told it would take 10 days. Five weeks later after countless unreturned phone calls and repeated requests for our fax/email/address information, the appraisal came back low and we decided to pass on the ring. We were initially informed by Donna, with whom we had made the agreement, that they would only issue us a store credit. We had to call the owner and defend our reasons for passing on the ring. Ultimately, they agreed to issue the refund, as we had discussed. The time and hassle we spent on this was unreasonable, and the staff were entirely unapologetic. We were told that a family emergency is what caused the initial delay and, while the impact that would have on a small mom-and-pop store is understandable, a simple phone call explaining that "it would take a few weeks" would have gone a long way.
