First off, the woman that owns the store (I am speaking from my experience) is a business owner. She is not there to be your friend. She is there to run her business, and provide her customers with high quality, clothing/accessories in good condition. You want someone that is going to be picky about what they put in their store. How are we going to find some great buys? I must say, everything I purchased was in mint condition, and DID NOT smell. Actually, they smelled like fabric softener. My friend had told me that everything is always clean that comes from her thrift store. I left with a couple of pieces that I am very happy about, and eager to wear (without breaking the bank). This INCOMPETENT MILLVILLE, NJ Goodwill has a terrible habit of using the wrong kind of tape on…read moreeverything. It's slapped across glassware, wood, plastic, even fabric -- and it ruins the products. The clear PACKING tape leaves residue, rips finishes and makes it impossible to carefully remove without damaging what you bought. On top of that, they're charging full retail (sometimes OVER RETAIL) prices for USED items that are already compromised by this over-zealous taping. Instead of helping people find affordable secondhand goods, they're destroying donations and overpricing them. Completely defeats the purpose of thrifting. I made every attempt to CAREFULLY remove their incorrect tape. See attached photos of $16.00 now-worthless, damaged Goodwill products. There are many other products that are incorrectly treated at this location similar to the attached photo. MILLVILLE, NJ Goodwill: Where Tape Is Stronger Than Customer Satisfaction. Apparently, this Goodwill thinks Scotch tape is a luxury feature.
