I was recently in a non-renaissance themed wedding. The bride chose to have custom made gowns made…read morefor the bridesmaid, along with a second gown for herself for a mid-wedding costume change. Mother of the bride also chose to have a custom made dress. We were all very disappointed with the process and the final products which were received. We paid premium dollars for a custom fitted gown so we'd each have a perfect fit, but all were ill fitting. The gowns were two pieces, consisting of a long skirt and a corset top. The claps on 2 of the skirts fell off and had to be sewn on, and there was no zipper closure on the skirts. Two of the skirts were made too small (even though we went in for several fittings), and V-shaped panels were sewn in which didn't lay flat and looked sloppy and terrible. The tops didn't fit properly. One girls' top was so short, that her midriff was showing, which understandably lead to her being upset and embarrassed. The corset tops should have been made with room so that there was a few inches for the lacing on the back to be seen. But all of the bridesmaids tops were laced up so that both sides were touching (they were made too big), defeating the purpose of the look. More frustrating was the overall process. All of the girls initially went for fittings in April (for a November wedding). The dresses were not ready until a week or so before the wedding. Lady Gwendolyn is a one person shop, so while we're sympathetic to the fact that she became ill, it seemed that the dresses did not get attention until the last minute. Our overall feeling is that formal gowns are not Lady Gwen's specialty, and a lot of heartache could have been spared if she had been more up front with her skill set.

I was recently involved in a Renaissance themed wedding, and the bride and groom had met Lady…read moreGwendolyn at the PA RenFaire and purchased their wedding attire through her a year before the wedding. Their outfits were brand new, beautiful, and mended to fit them perfectly, so if you are purchasing clothing from Lady Gwendolyn you will be pleased. The bride and groom decided that the bridal party and parents would also rent their Renaissance attire through Lady Gwendolyn, which is what this complaint is about. For $50 each, we would've been better off purchasing items from a Halloween costume store or website (many of the guests did, and they looked so much nicer). The bride is too nice to complain about things, but here are all the issues we had. We went to the shop at least 10 months before the wedding and should not have had the issues we did. First, the bride wanted her three bridesmaids in the same color. Not only did Lady Gwendolyn not have multiples of anything in the same color, but she didn't even have outfits to fit the three women, who are average sized women between sizes 8 and 14. One bridesmaid's outfit seemed fine and fit her well. The maid of honor's dress was too small and had black silk fabric pinned across her back and tied with a ribbon that didn't match the dress. Several of the buttonholes were missing hardware, and there was at least one rip in the side seam at the hip. The third bridesmaid was told she would have a vest made to match the skirt the bride picked. About a month before the wedding an e-mail was sent asking about the status of the vest - the only response was that the bridesmaid mentioned the wrong shade of blue. That should've been a red flag, but the bride wasn't worried. 3 weeks before the wedding, the bride is told Lady Gwendolyn couldn't get the fabric to make the vest and the bridesmaid would have to wear a different outfit that was not previously tried on. When the bride and groom picked up the outfit, they were told since the skirt was long, it would need to be hemmed by the bridesmaid (but done so that it could be removed after the wedding). In addition, the skirt was incredibly wrinkled and had to be ironed before the wedding. The vest was a different style than the other bridesmaid and not what we were expecting. The mother of the groom had a shirt that went under her dress that had a stain on it. The groomsmen didn't complain much, but they also changed immediately after dinner. The mother of the bride had tried a hat on with her dress but was told the week of the wedding that it was unavailable. The father of the bride had requested a medallion and scepter with his outfit, and these were also unavailable. We tried to keep our complaints and lack of comfort from the bride and groom because no one wanted to give them stress on their day, but many of us were extremely unhappy with the service given. I feel Lady Gwendolyn is better suited for renting costumes for day use at the RenFaire, but I would not recommend her for a wedding. I feel the couple took second place to the RenFaire which appears to be her main business - but this is someone's wedding day, we were paying a lot of money for everything, and this should've taken priority over a person renting a costume to wear around the woods for a day. Items should've been repaired, stains removed, and more advance notice should've been given for the missing items and outfit that was unable to be completed as promised.

I recently attended the event at Marian House in Cherry Hill. While the venue was beautiful and the…read morevendors were kind and engaging, I was deeply disappointed by the apparent lack of integrity in the way the main raffle--the event's primary draw--was conducted. At the start of the raffle, I observed a blonde staff member quietly place a ticket in front of a bride seated beside me, who showed no reaction. That bride later handed the ticket to her fiancé. At the end of the event, the same staff member returned to announce the honeymoon winner, reading a pre-drawn ticket number. The bride and her mother nudged the fiancé--who hadn't even looked at his ticket--before he finally claimed the prize, awkwardly feigning surprise. It was the same blue ticket placed in front of them at the start. This sequence of events strongly suggests that the outcome was predetermined. It is extremely disappointing to witness such a lack of fairness, integrity, and transparency, especially at an event meant to celebrate such meaningful moments. I am happy for anyone winning an amazing honeymoon - but the fact that it was rigged to gift to someone predetermined soured my experience and trust in attending any future events. Beyond the disappointment in the moment, the implications of this are significant. Many brides came with genuine excitement and invested their time, under the impression that they had a fair chance at the prize. The rigged grand prize not only undermines that trust but also damages the credibility of the organizers and participating vendors. I was not the only witness. For upcoming bridal shows, I will not be attending any run by this company - and I highly advise any brides attending or thinking of it to come in with the expectation that the main prize is likely someone the staff knows or has prearranged with to win.

Briana went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and were making the right decisions for us, every step of the way. She was such an amazing advocate with vendors and especially with our venue, which had terrible communication and practices. Briana was always available to text or call or email, had recommendations for vendors, and spent a great 90 minutes planning with us in person, which she then spent who knows how many hours developing a timeline and contact info docs etc. included in our package technically, was : in person Introduction, unlimited communications online or via phone, walk through of the venue, in person consultation closer to the date, final walk through, rehearsal and full day of coordination with an associate. OUTSTANDING especially given the veryyyyy reasonable pricing, especially for the city. Briana made me feel so valued as a bride, and so comfortable. Going so far as to make sure we had alone time post-ceremony (with cold beverages in hand!), connecting with all family members involved in the ceremony and reception, giving cues, fixing my broken jumpsuit late-night, and cleaning up like a champ. I can't even imagine all the effort she put in behind the scenes, and I am so grateful to have chosen Briana at the bridal concierge! A million thank yous from me and my husband!

Throughout life, we experience several life-changing events, but once you find your person, your…read morewedding day is quite possibly one of the most memorable and important ones. Even if the celebration is small and intimate, we still try our best to make it as perfect as it can be and, in my opinion, the person you choose to officiate that marriage is, by far, one of the most essential details. I got married to my best friend just a few days ago, and I am leaving this review because I am beyond grateful to have had the chance to meet Michael and have him officiate our ceremony. My husband and I aren't the most typical; we are both nerds, both introverts, and both neurodivergent. We aimed for our wedding to represent us in every possible way, and to be totally honest, before we met Michael, we struggled to find an officiant who understood us and gave us the feeling we were in good hands. Michael not only took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple, but he also went above and beyond to tailor his speech to perfection. He found the exact words to make us feel seen, amused, understood, and absolutely happy. He even researched the videogame I met my husband in and used a few of the beautiful phrases our favorite characters say. As if that weren't impressive enough, he was the very first person to arrive at the ceremony, looking sharp in his suit, ready for anything that came our way. Did you forget a ring box? No worries, he had one. Would your makeup get ruined with all the tears? Fear not. He had Q-tips and tissues in every pocket. For those who get the reference, his suit was like Mary Poppins bag. He also made sure we were calm, relaxed, and happy before stepping outside the bridal room and helped us with all introductions and announcements. Throughout the entire event, and even before that, communication was smooth, prompt, and transparent. I could keep going about how impressed and grateful we are to have hired him, but I believe this review says we absolutely recommend him clearly enough.

Arriving early to multiple locations the day of...the relief I felt when I saw you pull up I knew we were going to have a fantastic day. You are incredibly organized, thoughtful, calm and fun!! When our hand fasting cord got left behind, you went running mid ceremony to find it even tho you didn't have to..only taking maybe 2 min to find it amongst all the craziness of wedding decor, boxes, bridesmaids bags and who only knows what else!!...then running it out to our outdoor ceremony (those longs legs help!) I believe you knew where more things were than any of us did the day of!! My husband, so grateful for your humor and professionalism was beyond thankful when you would fix his boutonnière and in the moment tell him things to help keep everything going smoothly...like not to hug people wearing makeup the way he was bc he's so tall too, that they were smearing all over his suit but you pulled out a shout wipe, cleaned him up and kept it moving. Communication from our first phone call all the way through after the wedding was impeccable. We had a blast doing all of our photos, you keep it light and fun so everyone can relax and you can get the shots we wanted, to have our wedding day story told so beautifully. Really we couldn't be happier and more amazed by you! Thank you for so much and for helping to give us a FANTASTIC day. Would love to work with you again, even hang out with you as friends, you felt like family
