I reached out to her, and she made all the right promises - she's an expert (specifically with respect to paint), she has more than 15 years of design experience, she talked about other projects she had done. I thought I had done my due diligence, so I signed a contract with her and spent $1000 for design services. To say the least, she was not an expert, and she did not handle herself professionally or even appropriately. She was distracted and brought nothing but chaos to my house... and she claims to be a life coach of some kind? She came to a paint consultation with an iphone and a magazine, no samples or swatches. No discussion of what I have versus what I want to keep and acquire, undertones, light, windows, etc. Nothing. When she left, nothing had gotten done, but she said she "knew" what I wanted. For the second paint consultation, we were supposed to be putting paint on the wall. Instead of bringing liquid paint samples, she pulls two paper samples out of her purse that looked like she had grabbed them out of a drawer. I never saw trim or ceiling paint. When I asked her if she had a chart with paint finishes (because she didn't even know the different paint finishes or the proper recommendation for old walls), she yelled at me that she's not being paid to run around town. So she refused to do anything else that day because she had so much to do in addition to dealing with me, and that she was going to be suddenly unavailable for the next two days. At this point, painters had been at my house for 3 days, house in shambles and we still hadn't picked paint colors. And she was ribbing at me for being anxious. I have messages to her telling her I wanted something calming on the walls. I ended up with a griege that turns pink and orange after 3pm. After, I told her I just needed space from her, she shows up at my house uninvited, she wanted to just fix it, we gotta fix it, I have to be happy. "No, *I* have to fix it; you need to go." Just awful. The whole experience was bizarre, chaotic, and definitely what not would someone would expect from a business called "Simplify with Di." Do not recommend.

In late 2022 and early 2023 we hired IKB for a major renovation of our master bathroom that…read moreinvolved removing and rebuilding the floor and walls, expanding the shower stall, moving and redoing all plumbing and electric. The short of it is, they did an outstanding job, were a pleasure to work with through both the design and construction phases, and we are completely satisfied with their work. The work was completed almost to the day they'd initially estimated, and there were no cost overruns or disputes. We researched a handful of other contractors and IKB was the most reasonably priced. We first learned of them through neighbors who had used and recommended them. Here are some additional observations for those who want more details: Through the design phase, they offered a variety of options, and their CAD images provided a helpful visual sense of the these considerations. While they came with ideas, they were also very receptive to our design inputs and readily incorporated them into the final design. Their proposed fee was the most reasonable we received from the handful of other contractors from which we got bids. They were very good at problem solving to achieve desired outcomes. Everyone of their team was professional and pleasant to deal with. The quality of their work was top notch. And because it is such a visible aspect of a bathroom, I'll mention their tiling craftsman's work is outstanding. We wanted to incorporate some bold color tiles. That expert was able to make helpful suggestions for how to arrange those for very nice results, and his execution and grout work are just beautiful. Prior to this bathroom renovation, we'd used IKB to build an externally-exhausting duct for our kitchen stove and also install the exhaust fan. They did this work quickly, affordably, and the result is great. They will be our first choice for any future remodeling jobs.
