I needed a back adjustment and the Osteopath that I have been seeing has retired so I called my…read moreinsurance to see where I could go and they sent me here. I have gone to DO all my life so I know about adjustments for these problems and have had several over the years. I was able to get an appointment quickly and was seen by Salim Khalifa in a few days. He didn't do much of an exam but we did talk a little bit and I told him I needed a back adjustment. He tried to do it while I was on my stomach and he did pop it a little but he really hurt me doing it. He said he thought he got some of it and that I needed to come back in 2 days so he could do more. I went back 2 days later and he tried again, on my stomach and sitting up while he grabbed me from the front and tried a different approach, again he hurt me a lot and this time both my shoulders were hurt and still are sore now. He also did something that cut my forearm badly and I bled all over everything, I think he may have had something metal in is shirt but don't really know how it was cut. I was in a lot of pain when he was done so he had me lay on my stomach and he put cold packs on my back for a few minutes. When he came back is when he saw the blood on my arm. I hadn't noticed it, probably because everything else was hurting so much. He was a bit flustered by the blood and went and got a small first aid kit to try to bandage the cut. He is not much good for this as he didn't clean the wound, did not have any antibiotic to dress it, he just had a huge gauze bandage but no tape. I wrapped it up and went to my car where I have a full first aid kit and took care of it properly. Before I left Salim told me that he was new and might not know what to do for me and told me that there was another Chiropractor there with more experience who might know better what to do for me, wish he had said that before he hurt me I know that I have a bit of prejudice about chiropractors but thought they might be able to do this simple adjustment, they are not real doctors they can't prescribe, can't admit, do surgery or any of the things that real doctors do so its my own fault for trying them. Another thing, while I waited in the front each time I saw several patients go through the office and my feeling is that they like accident and workmen's comp case so they can do lots of billing, but that's just my opinion. I delayed doing this review to see how long it would take for things to heal, my shoulder finally stopped hurting in about 3 weeks and the cut is finally looking better (see picture) Needless to say I won't be going back.

I've been going to The Joint for over 10 years, and one of the things I love most is the drop-in…read moreoption. It works perfectly with my busy work schedule and mom life. When I first started coming, I saw Dr. Jeff Otto at the Cedar Hills location. He was incredibly kind, always listened, and somehow made the five minutes he spent with me feel like thirty. After Dr. Jeff left, I never quite found another chiropractor who made me feel the same way--until I met Dr. Kent. I know the doctors at The Joint see a lot of patients every day because of the walk-in model, but Dr. Kent always made me feel like more than just another appointment. No matter how much time had passed between visits, he would ask how my twins were doing and remember details about my life. That personal touch meant a lot to me. Dr. Kent never made me feel like a number. If the clinic wasn't busy, he would take extra time to help stretch out my very tight muscles and address my concerns. I always left feeling better, not just physically, but because I felt genuinely cared for. Dr. Kent gave me the same level of compassion and attention that I experienced with Dr. Jeff all those years ago. Because of that, I plan to follow Dr. Kent whatever location he is at. He is truly one of a kind, and I can't thank him enough for the care he's provided over the years.
