I really wish I saw these reviews before booking this company for my wedding! I met Broderick at my best friends wedding. I really liked the set up and the work they did. We booked them for MC, cold sparklers, LED lighting, and walking on clouds. The morning of my wedding the LED lights were set up before the ceremony so I didn't think anything was wrong but all the other stuff was never delivered. We didn't notice until we were ready for our first dance. I was completely devastated it ruined my entire image of how I thought my wedding day would look. After the wedding it took days to get a real response they offered a partial refund but I said we deserved a full refund which they agreed. After lots of back and forth and lies they never gave us our refund and our bank disputed it but DO NOT BOOK THIS VENDOR!!!! read more

Let me start this review by saying I had to take Brodrick (DJ Smooth B) to small claims court regarding our wedding booking. I not only was granted the judgement for the services he was supposed to provide and didn't, but I was awarded the total amount I paid because AEP failed to honor the contract. Additionally, Mr. Archie has refused to pay what he owes, even with a legit court ordered judgement against him. STAY AWAY and don't believe those 5 star reviews!!! I booked DJ Smooth B for our wedding, adding the Cold Sparks and Dancing on a Cloud to our package. The IG page for the company showed a DJ who shows up looking fantastic and gets a party going. What I got was NOT DJ Smooth B, but someone else entirely. Dressed casual for my formal event, announced us incorrectly- even mispronouncing my name twice, did not play the correct music for cocktail hour, did not know the songs to play for specific things like the cake cutting, didn't announce a single thing- including the toast and cake cutting. To top it all off, there was NO Dancing on a Cloud or Cold Sparks. The DJ had absolutely no idea that we were supposed to have those things, and he couldn't get a hold of anyone to tell him why it was missing. I never heard from Any Event regarding what was missing. I had to call them about it the next day. I was told the guy who had the effects was in a car accident on the way to my wedding and that's why we didn't get the effects. Later that week, after numerous calls and emails with no response, Brodrick answered and told me the guy died, and he was dealing with that and would refund me eventually. It never happened. It has been over a year now with zero refund and nothing but lies and lies and more lies from both Brodrick and his assistant. My wedding was beautiful without the DJ fiasco, but it was definitely not what it could have been. I would NEVER hire this company again. I would suggest you use your own playlist on your phone before giving them the time of day. read more

Con artists, stealing from honest businesses. Any show Accepted a contract for their client providing video wall then sub-hired my company and did not pay us. I was told by Tim (one of their employees) we would be paid by the school we were providing the service at. After talking to the Assistant principal, we found out quickly we would not be paid by the school and that everything was supposed to be paid by Any Event Productions. Turns out, Any Event only charged the school $2400, so it's really clear they never had any intention to pay my company who's bill was higher than their entire contract. Brodrick, the owner was on site the entire time and kept telling us Tim was going to pay us. He told us Tim was his boss, and we did not know at that time Brodrick was actually the owner. After countless calls and texts to Tim, he never showed up to pay even though we rendered the service flawlessly. When Brodrick grabbed his check from the AP, the school told him he needed to square up with us. He promised the school he would. Then left before we could be aware he was there. Straight up scam artists beware all!! We are filing a police report and suing right away !! read more

Had a fake Cash app support number call us to report that the payment was made(Cash app doesn't call you). He then proceeded to steal our contents for his social media page. Reviews don't lie! DO NOT BOOK! I booked DJ smooth to DJ at my wedding, provide up lights, and MC 6 months prior to my Wedding on November 5th, 2016. Guess what, I got 1 out of these 3 services breaching our agreement. On August 31 he and I met to select my up light color at our wedding venue and on September 20th I submitted to this man our song list. 2 nights before our wedding I emailed him that the bridal party wanted to add 1 more song, he responded that it was perfectly fine but that he had food poisoning 4 days ago and would not be DJ'ing for our wedding. Now it doesn't take a medical degree to know that food poisoning is a 24 hour illness NOT week long. So I did some research, it didn't take long to find out that DJ Smooth took on another event the same day as ours and even posted it on his Facebook page! GENIUS. He did however, send a lame replacement DJ who delayed our wedding 30 minutes getting his equipment ready. Now the worst part, I had NO MC and NO UP LIGHTS! I kindly confronted Mr. DJ regarding this days later requesting a partial refund and he replied with a forged email (SEE ATTACHMENT) claiming that my venue coordinator said that the up lights were not pre-approved. Not only does the venue NOT get involved with vendor agreements (which he posses the vendor policy), they weren't aware I was using up lights for them to intervene anyways. It was painfully obvious how the entire original email written by the event coordinator was well written in one font, yet the very last sentence regarding up lights in the version sent by DJ Smooth was in a different font with VERY POOR GRAMMAR and PUNCTUATION. I first met Broderick while I was working at the Toyota HQ in Plano as an independent contractor. He worked as a general technician as I did that week. While working with him, he told me he needed a new assistant for his photo booth that he used for weddings and he would pay me for 6 hours of work at $125.00 and I would be able to make tips on top of that. I asked him what happened to his last assistant, and he told me some story about how she was dressing "too provocatively" for him (i. e. see through clothing and talking about her piercings on her privates) and that it was making him look unprofessional. When he "confronted her she blew up" at him. He told me he liked the way I carry myself on gigs and he could use someone like me on his team. I decided it would be a good gig to have and I worked for him the following weekend, 5/29/2021 at the Hall Arts Hotel. While I was working, he offered me another gig with him the following week at a venue in Addison, TX. It was a 12 hour gig for $250. I agreed to working with him then. I received much praise from the families from both parties and even Broderick's crew liked me very much as well. Broderick himself said I did a great job. Well, I should have known the only money I would make with this guy is $60 that I received in tips the first night. He told me to send him an invoice and our payment terms were net 30. I let him know that any payments made after would be given a late fee and he said that was "fine." Broderick later tried to book me on gigs but couldn't seem to pull his Google calendar together enough to send me locations or times. He texted me asking to be free for work June 12th, and promised to send the location but he never did. I asked him if he needed me the day beforehand and he said no, which left me without work that night temporarily. I had other gigs I could have taken but I decided to take a chance on him. I was lucky someone else needed me and they paid me that night for stagehand work. When it came to sending off my invoices, he gave me two different emails to send them to, and neither one of them got an email response. He texted me back saying "checks goes out on the 8th to be paid by the 10th." When I decided he didn't need me on his team anymore, he asked me if I had a "female friend" to work as his assistant instead of me. I'm not going to volunteer any of my friends for someone who obviously can't handle scheduling his employees. I resent the invoices when they were past due with a late fee attached to the email. I got no response that day and I decided to call later in the week when I had more time to deal with this problem. No one answered the phone. I got a text back from this lady Donna who proceeded to tell me she didn't see my emails because they were in the junk mail. I told her Broderick told me he got them, then she tells me the phone is a company cell phone and any one of the 15 people that work for them can answer the texts it receives, so there's no guarantee on who saw it. Alright, well, I still haven't been paid. She tells me she has to get the late fees approved and to send a new invoice and she will get them processed. I called to see if they ever got processed, and no one has answered the phone or my voicemails. It is about to be September and I'm still being ignored. This is unacceptable and I wish someone would have told me this company only cares about what they can get out of people. Word of advice is you're thinking of using DJ Smooth B for your special day, DON'T! You're better off using Pandora, at least it will play what you want! This DJ was horrible, ruined my reception as far as we are concerned. We paid for the venue and his services for an extra hour and just cut the whole night short because we were so frustrated with his lack of skills. This DJ was given a specific playlist and just did what he wanted, he couldn't even transition properly! Such a waste of money!! My wedding was NY Giants themed and even had the audacity to come into the brides dressing room to show her he was going to wear a Dallas Cowboys hat...just so disrespectful. Oh and to top the whole unprofessional thing off with a bow, afterwards he had someone call me from 972-259-5741 pretending to be the venue and did nothing but talk about the DJ!!! Please do yourself a favor, if you want your day to be about YOU and not about the DJ, DO NOT HIRE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL TERRIBLE DJ!! If you're on a budget, plug Pandora into a speaker and put on your favorite playlist!! You'll be glad you did! He ran our guests out of the building with his unnecessarily loud and brash music, then when he was confronted about his actions, he kept changing his story. Lame lame lame lame lame!!!! This guy is a thief, criminal and crook! I hired him to provide a lighted dancefloor for my daughters 15th bday. I paid upfront. And a few days before the event someone named Sonia Williams calls me to say my last payment didnt go through. I looked at my statement and it showed it posted 2 weeks previously. The week of my event, suddenly this sonia who was emailing me from soniaw1512@gmail.com has dissapeared and her emails are bouncing back as if the email account was deleted. I had been been calling the 1-888-333-4617 and the 682-558-5401 numbers at least 4 times a day. Finally this guy calls me back and asks if theres a problem, I explain to him the situation and he says he's told sonia about sending emails from her gmail account, however that she was in a car accident so thats why it seemed like she dissapeared. So he assures me that we'll figure it out, he calls another guy on 3 way and asks if im scheduled for the dancefloor, the guy says no. He seems reasonable so I tell him if he needs my credit card number again, i'll pay it just so that i get the dancefloor and we can figure out what happened later. He says ok and that he's fixing to board a plane and will definitely call me back within 2 hours. Several hours pass and no call, however i do see that my card was charged. The next day was the actual day of my event, i spent most of the current day repeatedly calling and leaving voicemails and never got a call back. The next morning i get a call from a lady saying the drivers are on their way leaving out of houston. Sad to say the dancefloor was never delivered even though i paid an additional $1,500 for it. To this day, the guy which i believe goes by dj smooth b, named brodrick wayne archie, which i cannot get a physical address for has not returned my calls, yet his website still uses this phone number for business. Most of the reviews here seem like they were posted by his entourage to make his business seem legit. I've posted negative comments on his website http://www.djsmoothb.net/ only to see him remove them....they are hard facts, why not address them rather than remove them to make your website look like a legit business? Try and find a physical business listed for this guy...it doesnt exist, because he doesnt actually have a real business. We booked Any Events DJs and Brodrick (Smooth B) was our DJ and our MC for the evening was Nina. WOW. I mean words can't express how amazing this team was. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this DJ. I would definitely take any negative reviews on this site with a grain of salt. Just so you have some background on our wedding- I am 33 and my husband is 38. Our wedding was a mix of young professionals, older Executives (VPs and Directors), family (young - elderly) and very close friends. In total we had around 180 guests. And we had the best reception ever. All of our family and friends were asking and talking about the DJ during and after the wedding. We heard things like "Wedding of the century" and "Most epic wedding ever" from our wedding guests. Once the music started the dance floor was PACKED and stayed that way ALL NIGHT LONG. People that do not normally dance were out there dancing! People that I assumed could possibly leave early were standing at the end with sparklers. There was never a dull or awkward moment. The transitions were perfect and the announcements were flawless. Even the names were pronounced perfectly, (and we had some crazy Louisiana names!) We have such wonderful memories that will last a lifetime with our family and friends. I have been to a lot of weddings and I have to say Nina is the best MC out there and Any Events DJs executed everything flawlessly- from the processional music to the reception. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This guy is TERRIBLE!!!!!!! I am the husband, we got married last night (4-9-16), and I still had a headache this morning from the volume of the music. He totally screwed us. It was bad from the beginning. When we did the ceremony, the volume was so high the walls behind my wife and I were literally vibrating! And it was just the preacher talking! When the bridal party introduction started, he messed up most of the names, and immediately went to the bride/groom first dance.... He then told everyone to start eating, skipped speeches, toasting, blessings, and father daughter dance, and everything else! We asked for a mixture of country and top 40 genres, an the was like 5 country songs and the rest was rap.... My wife actually had to tell him to announce the cake cutting and the matron of honor had to announce speeches!!!! He is a total scam.... For $1600 it was absolutely horrible!!!! If I could give less than 1, I would. This company is a scam artist. I hired Any Event DJ & More for their photobooth promotion they were advertising on a fb page. $400 for unlimited hours and props...GREAT DEAL! Well I signed my contract, they took my money and about a week before my wedding I had to contact them to see when I was going to be receiving a proof for the script of the printed photos. I got the run around that they would get it to me later that day..then it came to the day of my wedding and it would be there by 4pm. I get a TEXT message at 6pm to confirm my proof. Fine I accept. They advertised my wedding invitation ON THEIR FB PAGE the day of the wedding. Come the day of my wedding my DOC told while we were waiting for the ceremony to start, that they did not arrive until 5 minutes before my ceremony so they would set up immediately following. Fine, right? Ok. Well fast forward to after the ceremony and my MOH comes to me asking me where my receipts are so that way she can show the photobooth people I paid. I paid a month in advance and luckily I brought my receipts with me. Come to find out Any Event DJ's & More called another local photobooth company to do the event and this 3rd party was not paid. The owner of the 3rd party contractor approached me 5 minutes into my reception saying she was not going to let people start taking pictures until payment received. My DOC called "Lauryn" who was who I talked with when setting everything up and tried to get payment over to them via paypal but Lauryn never did such a thing during my reception. So needless to say my photobooth did not open until 7:30pm (when it should have been open at 5pm) and they shut down at 9:15pm (when they were scheduled til 10pm. It was not the 3rd party's fault that payment was not received but Any Event DJ's & more. I contacted them the day after my reception, no answer via email, phone and they BLOCKED me on FB. I call Monday and told them I want a call back or else I am getting my lawyer involved. Richard (the 'owner'), called apologizing and said he would look into and call me back. No call back that day. Fast forward to Wednesday I get a call back saying that Lauryn used their contract and took my money and I need to deal with her. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? How can someone just steal your companys contracts and bank info? Richard was no help in this all. I told him I want his lawyer information and none was provided but to have my lawyers call him. Well he doesn't answer his phone! Plus if I tried, I couldn't send anything certified mail because their address is a PO BOX! After several calls and endless excuses I finally gave up. I got my money back through my bank with NO help from Richard or Lauryn. My advice STAY FAR AWAY! They are scam artists and do not care for their customers.I don't want any other wedding reception ruined like mine was because the whole time you are being hounded for payment when it had already been received only to be jerked around for weeks on end after because you had a bad experience. WARNING! DO NOT BOOK!! We booked a 4 hour photo booth with this vendor. He was very quick to ask for our payment and then didn't make any further contact with us leading up to the event. I made attempts to contact him multiple times and was finally able to get ahold of him the day before the event. "Oh oh oh! Yes... we will be there. Where and what is this for again?" He. Had. No. Idea. He was nice enough though and we confirmed the details. He asked me to text all of them to him too after we got off the phone, "so he wouldn't forget"... THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT. The next day, I got a text message 20 minutes after the event started that his employee was in a wreck and he wouldn't be there. IF this person was truly in a wreck - I hope they are ok, truly. But I just don't believe it. He was never going to show. THEN to get my money back I had to again contact him and my credit card company. After my credit card company contacted him the money return miraculously started the processing the next day. It pretty much ruined the event. We were all looking forward to this and the keepsakes we were going to have from this special day - not there. Awful. read more
