Peerless was contracted to provide a tent with heating and lighting for our ceremony on Dec 8th. Our coordinator had worked with them before and recommended them due to the last-minute booking (the weather wasn't looking good for our outdoor ceremony, so we pulled the trigger the Tuesday before our Saturday wedding. Jennifer, the main sales person, was easy to work with and sent a team out to our venue (The Filter Building) during the week to make sure that the tent would work. She confirmed that everything looked good and that there was plenty of power to support the heaters/lighting. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. First, the set-up crew didn't know what time to set up, despite it being in the notes. When they got there, they didn't know where the tent was supposed to be - again, despite it being in the notes we reviewed with Jennifer. Once the tent was set up, they realized the heater was broken. We didn't get another one until 3pm (wedding was at 4pm and the Peerless team told us that the heaters had to be on for at least 2 hours for the tent to be heated at all). They were told by maintenance to use the various plugs on the back wall (i.e. not to plug everything into one outlet). However, that's exactly what they did, and when the heater was plugged in, it popped the breaker. Then, the Peerless set-up team left, saying it wasn't their issue. Due to timing, we had to move forward with the ceremony. The tent was cold and the lights kept going off (one of the coordinator's team members was upstairs with the breaker to flip it every time it kicked off). After we finished and went upstairs for our private moment, we both looked at each other and said, "What a shit show." The tent was also supposed to be used for the cocktail hour, which didn't happen because it was cold and dark. Once the ceremony was done, my coordinator and the maintenance man started to look into the set-up and realized that the Peerless team had plugged all the heaters and lighting into one extension cord that went to one outlet. I'm no electrician, but I do know that when you overload a circuit, you will pop the breaker. Once they saw this and replugged stuff in using the other available outlets on the back patio, the heather and lighting worked great and the breaker didn't pop. Unfortunately, this was 2 hours into the evening, so no one used the tent anyway. When we were having issues, we couldn't get a hold of Peerless, despite them having an emergency line. When they finally called back, they offered to bring out a generator (that we would be charged for) but couldn't get it out there until 7 or so (again, ceremony was at 4). Then, when we tried to contact the company after the fact to discus what happened and get a refund, it took weeks to get a call back. We finally got connected with the owner, Matt Cosby, who essentially said that they weren't responsible for the set-up. I'm sure if the tent had blown away due to faulty set-up, they wouldn't have been responsible for that either. We requested half of our $4K back. He accused us of trying to take advantage of him - an interesting approach to customer service. After much haggling, we finally agreed to a refund of $1.3K, which was given begrudgingly. Our coordinator told them that they have lost her business, and I have advised my friends who are getting married to steer clear. If you are lucky enough to have everything go right, I'm sure you will have a great experience. But know that they have inexperienced team members who don't know how to do a proper set-up, and if that goes awry, they will take no responsibility. For your wedding or any other event, it's worth it to go somewhere else. read more

The tent was fantastic, unfortunately the fans and lights connected the day before and not tested on-site caused unnecessary stress the day before the event. Contacting them on Saturday was like pulling teeth. 3 1/2 hours after I called, I finally received a return call. On Friday, I called and explained the situation about the fans and lights and was given many unsatisfied answers. Bottom line, according to them was that everything worked because it was tested at the warehouse and I would have to pay $150 for them to come out. Even though I said that they did not do any testing on-site. So customer service is very poor because for the money I paid, they should at least want to resolve issues and want their customers to be happy. My advice to anyone who simply must use them, please have everything tested and inspected before they leave. And please read reviews of negative posts, because they tell the true story of what happens after the event and shows how poorly they deal with you once they take your money. I wish I would have read Lauren C. before choosing Peerless. Also, they did a poor job refunding me for partial lights and a 2 fans and they also offered a $100 in-store credit which they can keep, because I will never use them again or refer anyone their way. read more

Do not use this company! They tried to change things after I booked, said they were out of chairs and dance floors, then built a dance floor with plywood showing, completely unacceptable. I had to buy 7 yards of black felt to staple around the entire edge of a 16 x 20 dance floor. The Elite College Showcases have been using Dallas Party & Tent for years for their College Showcases, since about 2002 I believe. Over the years I can say that the product and support have been outstanding. As anyone knows, problems occur no matter what you do or who you use. People, businesses and contractors should be measured, not by the fact that they had an issue, but rather how the respond to the issue. I have been working with Sandi for several years now, I even when there are problems, Sandi and the, now Peerless Events & Tents, team have done a phenomenal job taking care of us. Problems, although do happen at times are rectified immediately and everything is done with professionalism. An example, now that I know Peerless and Dallas Party and Tent are one, we have previously used a different company for our Showcase in Round Rock. Sandi informed me that there was a branch in the Austin area so, to me, it was a no-brainer to make the switch. The previous company was always very slow to respond however I continued to use them since they knew what was required annually. It was the easy way out for me. Additionally their product was below average. This year, we used Peerless out of Austin and were extremely happy with everything. I met the installation crew to show them what we needed and the location and the supervisor was amazingly polite and helpful and everything went very well. We hired Austin Party Tent & Event (an extension of Dallas Party Tent & Event) for a sales event my company hosted. We rented a 30x70 ft tent, complete with tent siding, chairs, tables, and table cloths. We donated a portion of all of our sales to The Wounded Warrior Project, and Austin Party Tent & Event very graciously discounted our rental rates so that we could donate more to this endeavor. Everything was extremely affordable and arrived on time. They were also very accommodating when we had to change our order multiple times. I used Dallas Party Tent & Event for a tent only at my wedding. The tent arrived when it was supposed to, it was clean, it was set-up properly (which is especially good since it had to make it though a MONSOON that came through the night of my wedding), and they were very friendly when I spoke with them. I did have a bit of a delay trying to get some information about the tent pole. I needed to know where the poles would be located so I could plan my table locations. It took almost 2 weeks to get that information, but I did receive follow-up contact about the delay. The DIGS test situation is a bit of a mess as well. The DIGS test is basically a bunch of city workers who come to survey where the tent will be placed and mark and electrical, water, or cable lines. My contract with Dallas Party said that I had to make the arrangements for the DIGS test. I called the DIGS number 10 days before my event to set-up an appointment, but when I called, the woman to whom I spoke said that the tent company had to call since I didn't have all of the information (like how deep they would have to place the poles). When I called Dallas Party, they reiterated that I needed to call and make the appointment. I spoke to 2 people trying to figure out what to do since I just didn't have the information the city needed. Come to find out Dallas Party had already called and the DIGS people had already come to the event location earlier that same day. All the rest of my issues with the DIGS test in solely on the city, not Dallas Party. But it was no picnic dealing with the whole DIGS test. It would be wonderful if Dallas Party had someone in charge of making that run smoother. Overall, the product I received for the money I paid was pretty good, it's just a process to get to that point. read more

My fiance - now wife- recently hired Dallas Party Tent & Event for our wedding. Not so great. As a disclaimer, the staff that came out to set up and break down did a great job. They were friendly and efficient. There was a mishap with communication between the main office and the field guys in how the dance floor was to be set up, but the staff was quick to find a solution. My complaint is with the company's front office/coordination. Their scheduling is worse than the cable company. They not give you a specific time frame of when the crew will be there to set up or break down. If you are planning a wedding, these are key things to know. My fiance asked if they would be there early in the morning as in 7 am? "yea, possibly -or they could be there as late as 9 pm". THAT"S A HUGE WINDOW! (side note - their form does have check boxes for times - they just choose to leave it blank). They arrived late in the day for the set up, and late afternoon for break down. We rolled with the punches for the set up because, well, we needed the tables, chairs and floor. For the pick up, they refused to give us an time window. I mentioned that I had lots of out of town guests to still attend to and take to the airport, and since our backyard was gated bc of a pool, we could not leave it open for them. She put me on hold, only to come back and say, they'll be there sometime this afternoon. She said that it was their policy not to give time frames. We could not both meet up or send off our out of town friends and family that flew in from LA, NY, Japan, and hawaii because we needed to be there to wait for the crew to come sometime in the afternoon. We were sad and furious. If time/scheduling is an issue for you, then DPTE is not for you. Even if it isn't a concern for your situation, the company's lack of consideration should be enough for you to go elsewhere. read more
