As I walked in their door, I checked in, on my phone. Ever since the pandemic, I have shied away from checking in on a public tablet! There were fewer than 6 people waiting in the waiting room, and I was called into the lab in less than five minutes. When I left there were maybe 3 people waiting, and, yes, a number of people had been helped during that short time. What a difference it made! Someone had the right idea and was able to implement a much more finely tuned system.

My doctor finally called for me and found out they lost my bloodwork and it would need to be done again No guarantee that if I rescheduled I would get results in time to keep my MRI appt at a hospital. which by now was less than 24 hours away. I chose to use a different lab. The new lab got me in same morning with only a 5 min wait and my results will be available before morning. I was previously a happy Quest customer so it's sad that the lack of customer care & communications forced me to leave Quest forever.

We checked in on the iPad which is super simple using the QR code I received when I first scheduled the appointment. We sat for about 5 minutes and they called his name. A large TV screen shows your name and where your place is in line. We literally were in and out in less than 20 Minutes. The phlebotomists working were fact, friendly and efficient. I found out that the X-ray technician didn't show up for work. Therefore, that means there is only one person to do that job? My advice is to hire more than one person because the other Akumin office close by stopped doing X-rays 2 years ago. I guess it's not easy to get a simple X-ray nowadays. This place even calls and texts nonstop to confirm the appointment. It's almost like major harassment. If you make an appointment, you just show up and don't need a million confirmations. However, the report just reads normal. I guess the Dr will read it on his own, and I understand why places like UM want their imaging done in house.
