Staying in London for a week and needed a pampering. Lucked out with finding Anya Spa! Amy did a great job of my Shellac manicure (£25). Could have used a little bit more cuticle work but overall, she was a skilled manicurist and speedy without compromising the job. I loved that I didn't have to share the polish color wheels with other tables, which meant I could hum and haw over my color choices while she started working. That made the choice so much less stressful and for once, I didn't walk out of a manicure regretting my color choice! After watching Munni thread multiple women's brows, I had her thread and dye mine (£5+7). It was the first time for me so I can't give a comparison review but I can say that it was fast and relatively painless. She was friendly and informative -- I felt like my brows were in safe hands! I am seriously excited about not having to fill in my brows for the next week! Plus, no awful breakouts like when I get them waxed. The only issue I had was that the two nail techs kept sharing the cuticle tools. Maybe it's not regulated in England but in the US, nail salons have to sanitize all tools for every client. read more

Very impressed place with this place! It's super local to me, so ideal when I fancy a massage or a treatment and the prices are too shabby either.. £30 for 30minutes. I'm rubbish at remembering to book and what impresses me is every time I come I always manage to get in! Perfect for someone who lurks to be spontaneous. Treatment wise I've only tried the massages and threading. I'm not a massive fan of threading, but they did a good job and were friendly enough. The massages are what keep me coming back. The Thai massage is insane! The therapist really get rid of the knots and if you're suffering with back pain, it's a must! The Chinese massage is pretty good and I recently got cupping at the same time, which really helped with the pain in my neck and pain. If you're nearby, call in and see for yourself! read more

The girl who does eyebrow threading is like a machine as customers line up in the salon and there is good reason - she's very good. My masseuse was sick - and 5mins into the massage she explained she was being forced to work due to a lack of staff. She than expressed how she could not apply pressure and kept coughing and sneezing on me. 15 minutes into the massage I had to tell her to stop. I was then forced to pay for the 30mins treatment. I was shopping around Angel and walked into this Spa randomly hoping to get my eyebrows, upper lip, and underarm waxed. I didn't have an appointment and was seen immediately! Munni decided to thread my eyebrows instead of wax, which was different than what I am used to and it turned out great! I used hot wax for my underarm (£12) and did regular strip wax for my upper lip (£5). Total came out to £22 and I left a very satisfied customer! read more

Please Read: I got my eyebrows tinted & trimmed and then my upper lip threaded. It was only when I got home that I noticed that the tint was not removed from my eyebrows, at all! When I rang up the salon to discuss, I was told that other customers were trying to get through the phone, so they would have to call me back later! Their defiant and hostile attitude was awful. I was told I should have "asked the beautician to remove the tint" myself before leaving the salon. I never saw my eyebrows before I left. I was handed no mirror nor was I asked what I thought of them. The strangest thing is, before I got up and left, the beautician put cream on my upper lip and accepted my payment but did not think to remove the tint from my eyebrows? Such bad service and the audacity of the staff when I had been polite and calm on the phone. I was a regular customer, never again will I go there. It was a deplorable experience. This is the first review (of any kind) that I've ever posted. I feel so strongly about how bad their service was that paying customers need to know in advance. I've been a regular customer of Anya for about a year now - but after today's experience will unfortunately not be going back. I took an appointment to get a massage. I've had massages before at Anya and they've been OK in the past. In this case, the lady massaging me proceeded in a manner that was not at all relaxing (and in fact, so vigorous and fast, that it was painful). Despite me telling her several times to stop and slow down - she kept going. Finally - it got to the point that I chose to request her to stop before the treatment had ended. I asked if there was somebody else about who might help me explain to her what was going wrong or who might finish the massage - she declined and stated that everybody had gone home. This would have been fine - had it not been for the terrible behavior of Su (the gentleman at the front desk). He asked me what had gone wrong, and when I explained it to him - he became extremely rude and adversarial. I asked him if he had a manager I might speak to, and he declined to share any contact details and finally told me that "he didn't care to continue the conversation". So I'm leaving this review on yelp, partially to also communicate with Anya's management team - since I was a regular customer who was in fact, shocked by my experiences today. it's one thing to get a bad service, its another altogether for somebody to be so rude about it. Do not go here for lash extensions. The girl is doing it is not even qualified. I went in on 28th Sept 2018. The place looks the part but my experience was despicable! The girl took the tweezer straight out of her make up bag, (note i said tweezer!) and tried to lay lashes directly onto my natural lashes with only one tweezer. People who are familiar with the process know, #1 the tweezers are not even sanitized and know you want to put them on my eyes #2 no where in the world will teach you to apply eyelash extentions with one tweezer. You have to isolate the lash with one tweezer then apply lashes with the other whilst holding the lashes apart with the other! It is impossible to do it with only one. I immediately told her to stop, it was bad enough her stuff wasnt clean and now you want to glue my eyes shut and matt the lashes together! When i asked her where is here qualification. She didnt know what to say! I asked her, "are you even qualified to do this?" again she didn't reply. I went downstairs and asked for the manager telling them im reporting them. The manager ushered me back upstairs and still showed me no certificate for this girl and wouldn't give me her name. The disturbing thing about this is that they are working over peoples eyes with very sharp tweezers and an extremely strong glue that can literally glue your eyes shut. There were other indications that told me from the beginning that this girl didn't have a clue. Example, i asked her what weight are the lashes she had zero clue as to what i was talking about. I literally had to take the box and show her the weight. I asked her what length will she use she asked me, what length do i normally use, would i like 13mm all the way. How in the world can you stick lashes that measure 13mm on the inner corners? they will be hitting your nose! Why do people employ people like this and take out safety for granted. She put the under eye pads IN my eyes twice scrapping my eyeball! The whole thing was a disaster from start to finish. Worst massage I've had in a long while, most of the massage was through a towel, the masseuse was so rough, she pinched and throw my arms and legs around like a rag doll was extremely painful. She moves so fast as well which makes it seemed rushed she kept returning to the same spot over and over then when I thought she had finished my back and started my legs she would randomly start my back again then go back to legs. An overall very disorganised massage. I will not be returning, so many better places in Angel I should have stuck to my usual spot Kobkun. read more

My usual salon was all booked up so I had an upper lip threading at this salon. I asked the receptionist whether they could thread just inside the nostril too and what the cost would be and was told to ask the beautician, who told me that was possible and included as part of the upper lip. The beautician did a good job but when I went to pay the price had doubled. I explained to the receptionist that this was not the price that was discussed and I had specifically asked. Her response was very aggressive. She started shouting at me and seemed to go from 0-60 in a millisecond. She was unwilling to listen to anything I had to say and made my visit extremely unpleasant. I paid and left. I can understand charging £1 more for my request but doubling the cost is a rip off. If the salon could get a different receptionist, it would be good. I won't be going back. You can have good depilation all over London without the aggressive attitude and underhand charging. read more

I've had my eyebrows threaded here my Momy. She's phenomenal! She shapes my brown just as I like them (thick) and is a perfectionist! I had to take a star off because when Momy wasn't in one day, another lady did my brows and have me that overplucked and overarched look. I was mortified. Moral of the story: get your eyes done here but be sure to ask for Momy!! read more

rushed job with eyebrow threading and a bit painful. afterwards i asked the front desk person if they can trim my eyebrows a bit and he told me the scissors are right there. um if i can do it myself i wouldn't have come into a professional salon. won't be coming back as I've gone to better places that are cheaper not too far from here. read more
