What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon! This library has it all, especially when you have littles. So much to see, do, read, explore. The kids section is welcoming. On a recent visit there was a tent with fake wood and rocks to pretend camp. I also appreciate all the seating and interactive displays. The kids area also has two family bathrooms. I noticed security checking them, it sure why but I appreciated it. Kids mess around a lot and so it's good someone's checking. I saw security walking around outside keeping an eye too. The outdoor area is nice and big with places to explore, a cement stage and Adirondack chairs for everyone but and small. Didn't buy anything from the cafe but they had a decent selection. I saw hot and cold drinks made to order. There's also a refrigerator with bottled drinks. read more

As a former staff member at Anythink Wright Farms, I was privileged to work within a library system that, on the surface, is creative, community-driven, and visually inspiring. Anythink Libraries are rightly praised for reimagining public library spaces: from inventive youth programs and tech-forward makerspaces to beautifully designed environments that invite exploration and engagement. From a patron's standpoint, these libraries are a joy. From an employee's standpoint--particularly one behind the curtain--the story can be quite different. Anythink promotes itself as radically inclusive, and in many ways, it is: programming often celebrates LGBTQ+ identities, progressive social values, and imaginative expression. However, in practice, this inclusivity can feel highly selective and ideologically narrow. The internal culture--especially at the Wright Farms branch--was shaped by a distinctly matriarchal structure, where female leadership and staff often formed insular support networks. These networks openly championed each other, as well as LGBTQ+, transgender, and non-binary colleagues, in ways that often left other voices--particularly those of straight, middle-aged, married Christian men--marginalized or undervalued, regardless of their merit, work ethic, or contributions. As a male employee who fell into that latter category, I often felt that my perspective was quietly dismissed or treated with suspicion, particularly when it did not conform to the dominant ideology. Professional disagreements were sometimes interpreted as cultural insensitivity. Constructive feedback was occasionally framed as tone-deafness. And questioning aspects of mandatory DEI or microaggression training--even in the spirit of understanding--was met with subtle consequences: performance reviews that suddenly turned critical, vague accusations of not being a "team player," and, eventually, placement on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). These programs, while promoted as tools for growth, sometimes seemed to be used punitively--to isolate, exhaust, or push out employees whose personal values or lived experience didn't align with the internal culture. In a place that preaches inclusion, the absence of space for ideological or philosophical diversity was disappointing. It became clear that "radical inclusion" applied only if you fit a certain profile. There were bright moments: I worked alongside some talented and compassionate colleagues, some of whom privately expressed similar concerns. Many staff members are passionate about literacy, access, and youth empowerment. The outward mission is compelling--and for many patrons, it works beautifully. But internally, the organization struggles to reconcile its branding with how it treats ideological, gender, and spiritual differences among its staff. Inclusion should not come at the cost of quiet exclusion. Real equity means making room for multiple perspectives, not just those that align with institutional or cultural trends. I share this not out of bitterness, but out of a desire for honest dialogue about what true inclusion and workplace equity should look like--especially in an institution that shapes minds, values, and community trust. read more

I've been coming to this library for almost 8 years and it's always been a haven for those who have been burned by traditional (shhhhhh!) libraries. Bright, airy and filled with natural wood, Anythink Wright Farms seems like an open paradise when you come in; a haven for learners. Gone are cluttered shelves and claustrophobic passageways. Enter in wide open spaces, a kids area full of trees, a cool teen hangout room and a beautifully and simply laid-out fiction section. Be warned: Anythink IS different from other libraries - it's truly for the community and the library reflects that. You won't find stiff-necked librarians shhhing kids left and right; instead you will find caring librarians who are wanting to truly help their community and clear their way to learning. This is not an academic library, so if you are looking for catacombs of ancient books and the Dewey decimal system, you won't find it here. Anythink Wright Farms is not always the quietest library, so if you are needing that, make sure you come before school gets out in the afternoon, or after 6pm. This library sits very close to a local middle and an elementary school, and after school releases it's very crowded and the noise level rises consistently. However, this library does a great job with offering teen and kid programming and the librarians do their best to make sure the library is a welcoming place for all the community. Kids though, are especially welcomed and encouraged. When my child was young, this was the best place to go to entertain him and get out off the house for a few hours. They have a big backyard for kids to run around and explore, and for a lonely Mom, it was a lifesaver. Also check out the cafe they have on site - their coffee drinks and sandwiches are super yummy, and the Studio, where patrons of all ages can come in and learn new traditional and new art techniques. The Studio is amazing for adults who want to further their creativity while not taking on a huge time commitment. Overall, I feel so lucky to live by Wright Farms and to have this kind of library in our community. read more

I already posted this review on another site but want to make sure the word is spread about how wonderful this library is. My parents have been taking my kids to this library weekly for years and I think it's one of the best resources a community can have. The divided up rooms and "word think" shelving method make it very user friendly and my kids love the classses and the art room (I'm still a Dewey decimal girl though ;) ). In fact I had the honor of going with them last week and today and my son happily gave me a tour, introduced me to all the staff he knows (which may be everyone) and made sure I got some coffee at the snack bar! I wish I could give this library more. I wish this because they have a very important vote coming up this November. However, I hsve recently gone from thinking this was a 5 star idea to a 2 stsr idea. Here is why...they allow children to run rampid and be extremely loud. On wednesdays, its imposible to enjoy any peace....the kids let out early and they hang out at library and it sounds like a freaking zoo. There needs to be more discipline by staff to kids. If they arent using the library as intended, they need to hang out elsewhere. I will no longer be giving my vote to this library expansion if they dont stsrt controlling these children. read more

This library is one of the best ones that I have ever been to. They have a regular area, kids area, teen hang out space, quiet rooms and a quiet area and also an amazing outdoor space where you can sit and read and enjoy the fresh air. They have a great community garden that just opened this year too, 27 or so plots that are all cared for by community gardeners. A compost bin and a plan to get bee hives. Such a great way for the community to come together. There are lots of study rooms and group meeting rooms. There are also chairs all over the place that you can just park yourself and read a good book. If you need a snack they have an awesome little snack area where you can grab a drink or a sandwich, brownie, cookie, etc. Help support your local libraries! read more

LOVE!!!! Plenty of space to work, or to curl up with a good read. My teen loves to come here to study. In fact, they have a huge teens-only area which is getting a makeover with a new digital media studio. They have awesome FREE classes and resources, like the genealogy series they offer every year and yoga on the weekends. The staff is always friendly and helpful! Plus, they're supporters of National Novel Writing Month!!! Hoping the coffee shop reopens soon. I saw they're looking for a barista, so hopefully not too much longer. read more

It's an ok library, I'm sure they offer some good programs and what not. We how ever utilize the children's area, mainly the small children's section. It's kinda just blah tucked in the corner, toys are limited and worn. Great book selection though. read more

I voted for the new library system a few years back and couldn't be happier. This library is open and airy with a great selection of books, DVDs and computers. There is even a cafe, although it had to close due to the caterer leaving. They plan to reopen it. I love the fact I can go online hold a DVD and it comes from any branch in the system to my branch for pickup. The children's section is amazing too. Nice newspaper reading area. They have computers, different sections of the library (kids, quiet, games) and they have coffee available in the mornings! I guarantee if they made the coffee shop fully functional with business hours to mirror the library, it would be PACKED all the time! I love to go here to study! read more

Love it too many kids I this 3 town together Thornton, Brighton Henderson got to Anything Wright Farm Library. Hardly It wasn't too quite kids talk to loud and sometime running around. I reserve one room quite it help but not enough Study Room. Hope need more Study Room in the futures. Oh by the way, on 104th and Salem next door will have added more houses. If they set up another Library on 120th across fro m two school are Prairie View and Orchard Church. I am worry more kids go to Anything Wright Farm will have more people get in from 120th and Salem next door more houses and might be too much takeover Study Room. read more

I'm sitting for the first time in this library, making some pleasant use of time before my next client appointment. A few moments ago, I obtained a library card to this seven-location system, bringing my card collection total to five since I moved here. I took a brief walkabout tour of the interior, noting a spacious section for little kids and another for teens. Looking at the other reviews, and noting the couple of negative ones (one calling it a "boutique library"), all I can say is that I like this place. Yes, there is an "Anythink Cafe" to one side, and the exposed, industrial-style ceiling gives it a casual vibe. One staffer spoke to me at length about the solar features and wide windows letting in lots of natural light. When I settled down in a comfy seat, this same staffer sought me out with a little brochure showing the addresses and hours of the other locations, which I had already received when I got my card. While taking in the environment, I was also impressed by the way the front-desk personnel really engaged with kids who were inquiring about the summer reading program. For those who think this library is not adequate, all I can suggest is that you can use Anythink for what it has to offer, and, if a book can't be obtained here, there IS an inter-library loan process, as well as the use of other library systems. It's kind of like dating--every one has something to offer, and you accept each for that reason. read more

I love the Anythink brand of libraries. I haven't used one since school days and when I started going to Anythink a few months ago I was pleasantly surprised. I love that it's self-service and is set up more like a Barnes and Noble than a library. The overall atmosphere is very inviting and open. I could literally spend hours here poring over all the books trying to decide what to check out. In a world where libraries (and as of late, books in general) are becoming outdated it is refreshing to see a new spin on the library. It's modern, green and resourceful. I hope Anythink will be around for a long, long time. read more

This was my first time visiting an Anythink library and I have to say I am a fan. I typically use libraries for their meeting rooms and quite reading/working spaces. This place does not disappoint. Tons a great quiet and comfortable sitting areas that are perfect for kicking back and reading or plugging in my computer and getting some work down with the help of the free wifi. They also have a huge selection of books and the children's section was especially impressive. If you need a snack or a coffee break they also have a snack bar with various coffee treats. I am already a big fan of the Anything libraries - they truly have revolutionized the library experience. This one really tops the cake though with their little cafe and the hours available on Sunday. YES! I said they are open on Sunday!!!!!! (Happy dance ensues) There are stations for everything and computers galore. Free wi-fi, listening stations, a large and open children's area (my second favorite in the area after the Huron location), and up to date media and movies. It is truly a modern age library experience and I have found that the convenience of the location has made me actually WANT to read. I have spent hours in here with 2 kids (ages 11 and 19 mos) and they both had something to do. My older son could find a comfy rocking chair and curl up with a book while the younger one and I played learning games and read board books. They have a lot of people visiting here and the great thing is that there is room for everyone. I have tried to work on my laptop at Barnes and Noble or Borders before their inevitable demise and typically had a hard time finding an open seat and table. Not here! There are nooks and crannies everywhere designed for you to read and a whole room with tables in a quiet room if you want to work on your own laptop for hours. The book selection is huge and the only issue I have had with the place was that I had a movie on reserve for 15 weeks only to find it on the shelf. I checked it out and moved myself to the top of the list. I guess it wasn't really too much of a problem afterall. ;) read more

Can't wait for a notification for the next one....I'll be there. There were varying levels of experience in the class but that didn't pose any problems. My family and I love everything about this library. The kids are is excellent and we also have a plot at the community garden they have.

This library just opened in July. I am happy that such an awesome resource is so close to my house now ! The floor plan is expansive and modern. There are librarians re-shelving books and giving information, and helping people with library cards...but gone is the librarian with her glasses on a chain, stamping your books and saying "SHHHH!" Everything is automated. The book return is in the entryway, and is a space-age conveyor belt with a scanner that checks in your books, then the touch screen computer monitor next to it asks you if you want to print out a receipt. The check out process is automated also. You place your STACK of books on the smart-pad..and it records all of the bar codes without you moving a book or using a bar-code scanner. Really....the librarian had to explain it to me. Technology is magical. The library has conference rooms, computers everywhere for reference and looking for books...gone are the card catalogs that I used in school....(how archaic !) A fireplace and chairs are here....a study space with couches are there....and the children's section is very large. I am sure I haven't covered all of the amenities yet, I have only been there twice. The only part I am not used to is the noise, I guess modern libraries do not care if people are talking and that kids are yelling...I suppose I will assimilate to that modern thought in time myself. I know that people download books onto kindles and to some the thought of a book is old fashioned, but until then, I love the weight and the feel of book, and turning pages and the satisfaction of finishing it and closing it. Indeed a state of the art library, it is huge inside, clean and well put together. I have to say alot of energy and planning went into this library. Just not an ordinary library its emphasis was also going green, it has a huge engineering room underneath that it uses the earths heat to heat the water, uses natural resources to light the place and so on. It is a definite on the side of a new wave, state of the art library. It obtains the atmosphere most are looking for in a library resourceful, friendly, quiet, and just simply put NICE~! read more

This library is a JOKE! A boutique library at best and do not think for a minute that you will find what you're looking for if it has not won at least three awards and on the bestsellers list, and even then, it's a stretch. In addition, their hours are not conducive to those in society that work or go to school, which, last time I checked, was a good majority of the U.S. population. By the way, don't forget your library card, because their staff is so extremely overworked that they can absolutely NOT look it up for you-you will need to go get it and come back when you're prepared! If there were less than one star possible, that's what I would give; it shouldn't be called "Anythink," it should be called "Anychance"! read more

LOVE this library! So many other reviewers have already covered so many of the great things about this place. It's modern, it's clean, it has a coffee bar - it's like going to Barnes and Noble without having to pay for the books. My tween son gets together with his friends in the "youth zone" and they lounge on the oversized chairs and look at tech magazines together, planning to build their own androids someday. My younger daughter likes to look through the DVD collection and pick out audio books for her afternoon quiet time. My husband and I love to pick a table at the coffee bar and look through our books while waiting for the kids to finish up. There's also a great outdoor area that's great for relaxing in with a good book if your kids or spouse are attending a class you're not interested in. A couple people have noted there is more noise than more traditional libraries. I would say it's comparable to being at a Barnes and Noble. Most people shush their kids or take them outside, so it's like being in any other public space. I visit the library about every 2 weeks and I've never experienced it being rowdy. But this is a library that has a killer kids area and a dedicated youth zone, so you have to expect an occasional tantrum or the sound of teens laughing together. There's also a coffee shop near the front desk, so there are conversations happening. If you really want a quiet place to study, I'd recommend checking out your books and taking them home. If you're a true misanthrope, you can order your books online from the comfort of your home, you get an email when they have been reserved for you at the library, and you only have to go into the library to pick them up. If you want to find a good book, have coffee with a friend, or have a family outing that really is catered to everyone, I highly recommend this library. This place is awesome! read more

It don't get no betta! One thing that always bothered me about public libraries is that most don't allow food. This means you can only stay there as long as your stomach can withstand negative sustenance OR sneak in some type of food and try to eat it quietly and not get yelled at. This library, on the other hand, actually sells food, snacks, and coffee. Bravo. Even though this location opened 3 years ago, you'd guess it opened last month. Very clean and new with lots of space including an outdoor seating area. Staff is super friendly, too. read more

Love this library. It's huge, it has everything I need. Only downside is that it's LOUD. I understand that quiet time in the library is kind of a thing of the past, but running down the aisles and screaming is still a little overboard and this is usually a consistent thing at this branch. Other than that, the staff is very friendly and it's a great location. :) read more
