Last week I had to get some quotes to get an A/C installed at my job. We already had the A/C and just needed it installed. The A/C we have is a small A/C - the type of A/Cs you see hanging outside of someone's bedroom. I messaged five handyman businesses with my request and provided pictures of the window and A/C. I should of read the poor reviews carefully because they are all probably true. I'm sure he will post smack about what we did wrong but he wasn't paying us I hired them to do my mom's floor and air conditioning. First off the handyman was swearing while he worked. Complaining about the old floor condition. My mom didn't know to clean out under sink and it looked like they dumped everything into a pile in the hallway. They did not clean up after themselves. Left rubbish all over the place. They were not transparent about pricing. They quoted 500.00 but price came out to 900.00. I realize it was a harder job than expected but keep us informed. They also damaged the sink when they pulled it out to do the floors. I did call the owner Tyler prior to posting this complaint but he offered no apology and put the blame all on us. I would have been happy with a apology and a small refund for the damage. I don't usually post complaints but I don't want anyone else to have to go through this. One positive- He installed the floor and I love it. Per his reply...I did not ask for anything or for him to replace cabinet. It's not about the money but the sloppy work. The person that came to do a 2-3hr project took 3 hours to grab drywall which they only used 10% of it for my project but charged me for 4-5 hours of work. Same thing with plywood..they bought a whole sheet and only used 2 x 2.5'. I tried to explain this to the owner and he told me ...."not my problem" well I told them I was only paying for the materials used. Recommend that you don't request anything from this business. Bought a barn door to hang on my hallway bathroom. Contacted Anytime Handyman for a quote and was quoted 104/hr so hired them to come out. Was told by Tyler this job required two people but was not told that meant 104/hr per person. First person shows up on time and informs me second person running late. Second person shows up 10:15. Both discuss where studs are then leave at 11 and show backup 12:30 with second persons tools. They find the studs and make shopping list. This takes 30 minutes. Leave 1pm and don't show back up until 3pm. Hang and secure board to metal studs but rail for door still unsecured. Here until 5 pm just to tell me will need to return with owner to figure out how to install securely the door. Initial invoice is for initial invoice is for 19 man hours to basically just secure the board which I already hand hung. Called Tyler and was able to talk man hours down to 11 based on one guy late and the supposed lunch hour and half. Still 11 man hours and job not completed. Worst experience ever... started off with ordering the wrong pan size and tried to play it off as Home Depot's mistake. Did partial work and then said that the pan should be on the way. One month later and the pan still didn't show up. Never bothered to check in or update status unless I contacted him. Pan finally showed up and they delivered it to my front door while no one was home. Just left the pan there. Tried to reach out to see if they were going to finish the job and has avoided my calls, texts and emails. DO NOT USE ANYTIME HANDYMAN. Forewarned, will be ranting a bit because it's overdue by a few weeks now. For obvious reasons below, my building maintenance team has told me they have barred anyone affiliated with this company from our building. If you're looking for honest and reliable, this is not place from my experience. They advertise as experts at countertops and putting in cabinets, I had to redo mine and didn't let them finished the project because they wanted to keep sending workers who didn't know what they were doing or what even told what they were gong to do. They start charging you as soon as they come and take 2-3 hours to set up/figure out what they were doing. Go get tools, buy tools, etc and charge you while they figure out. Didn't want yo give you an real estimate because all they care is about billing you, no matter how crappy the work turns or even unfinished. Tyler, the owner sent out a guy first day on the job/subcontractor who didn't even know what he was going to be doing. Spent 3 hours and being billed while they get their act together, what the heck? After 8 hrs, not a single cabinet, that we're already assembled by the manufacturer that I personally picked up. Luckily, I knew a thing or 2 about putting in garbage disposal/cabinets and dishwasher after a few remodeling jobs. Even their subcontractors/workers couldn't believe how this company was operating. Sending a guy on the first day of job and didn't even know what he was supposed to do. The owner just told the new guy to do everything even though he has never put in the plumbing, sink/garbage disposal, butcher block, etc. It didn't matter who they sent because they would bill for all 3 people who showed up yo help the first guy who didn't know anything. Tyler just told these guys to figure out how do the job even if they've never done it before!!! They don't have a problem to bill you and redo something a couple times because they don't guarantee their work or care to finish. No joke, these guys were going online to figure how yo put in a garbage disposal, sink and how to properly put in the countertop. And Tyler and his company was saying they had been doing this for how many years. How many people have they scammed? I even had to tell them where to cut the farmhouse sink and butcher block countertop. The guys says they hardly do that kind of job. I was shocked I had to walk them through how to cut it and they didn't bring the right tools. Think I'm making all this up, see the attached pictures. They sent over another guy, which they'll charge you twice for the labor and then sends a plumber while the other sitting around waiting for the plumber to do his thing. All the while, have the 2 other guys charge you hourly while waiting. So now you have 3 guys billing you at the same time. Mine you, my kitchen is very small, only 3 full cabinets and fillers around the stove!!! Took 3 guys to put together this small project and it turned out crappy and unfinished or had to correct their own mistakes and will charge again!! Tells me they going to send a guy out and get everything done and the worker was surprised. The owner tried to make him bill me even after I told the guy that your boss told me " everything will get done for free since it wasn't done as it was supposed to and you'll be happy." Nope, tried to bait and switch and I told the workers that. Drawers came off the first time I pulled it out, garbage disposal has no plumbing putty to protect from leaking nor all the parts forgot to put in (has to get redone), scratches on my brand new cabinets, ugliest sink cut/ caulking ever because it was cut correctly, countertop was secured to the cabinets, only 2 brackets put in under countertop for the entire kitchen-- thank goodness I knew what to look for-- so needs to be corrected/tighten. They even cut my outlet wires instead of just taking the outlet out? So beyond upset. Again they are barred from my building because my maintenance people overheard the Tyler, the owner, say "dismantle everything" after I refused to give into his bait and switch. He tried to tell the worker to dismantle the work I already paid for, unbelievable!! Thought someone couldn't run his business any lower but this Tyler guy did. The worker refuse and said he doesn't do that, that's not his way and the boss was pissed. I really do feel bad for these workers because they had good intentions but that Tyler guy and his company work ethic is a sham. I wasn't there but the building maintenance people overhead the conversation and said to me, Anytime Handyman and /or anyone affiliated with this business is barred from entering the building. Again, I was told this by my building mangers, I didn't even know they knew anything except that I was remodeling my kitchen. Thank goodness I have witnesses to see what I went through. Don't be an idiot like I did to give these people a chance. Seriously, stay away!! read more

Communicate well on their schedules. Rate of $90/hr is fair BUT they require a minimum of 2 hours. So if you have a small job, don't think it's worthwhile. They charge you for supplies as a separate cost, so make sure you talk to them and see if you already have what they need to save yourself some money. These guys are good at what they do. My front door needed replacing as it was old and broke off the spine. This was a custom door though, over 90 inches tall and you cannot just buy it at Home Depot. I called around and every door guy said they couldn't build it for me but not Tyler. He was able to get a slab and build one in good time. He's old school though and super busy so don't take his lack of responding too personal. When our doorknob broke just yesterday (which had nothing to do with the door they custom built), Tyler asked one of his guys, BOB, to come help me on his day off. A new doorknob was put in within a few hours. I cannot thank them enough for their quick response and handling of our situation. They are a small business and it ain't easy but they are doing it right. Would definitely hire them again for a job in the future. read more
