They are encouraging, as are other members and this has become my happy place during the pandemic. I feel extremely safe here and even before Covid we joked that we could eat off the floor in Nina's gym it is so clean. I have belonged to many gyms over the years and the one thing I LOVE about working out at CFMF is how varied the workouts are. Nina listens to the members and adapts each workout to build off the last one. It's amazing how much detail goes into programming and communicating with members. Nothing is taken for granted, this business is evolving with the needs of members and the crazy world we are living in right now.

The gym is nice, the indoor/outdoor pools are awesome, and its very clean. I even dropped a kid off at the daycare and she had a good experience. The staff are nice and a few already know my name. I had such a good morning at the club, worked my shoulder, stumbled into the Pilates reformer area where a really kind trainer got me excited enough to sign up for sessions and her weekly class, then swam about 500 yards. Everything was going perfectly. Then came the locker room. It was quiet, almost empty. I came out of the shower, headed to my locker, and this fully dressed woman was standing there. She said good morning, I said it back. But then she sat down right next to me while I was naked, turned her back, and pulled out her phone. The whole locker room was open, and she picked that spot. I felt exposed and uncomfortable. Once I got dressed, I told her that phones aren't allowed in the locker room. Instead of apologizing, she turned it on me, saying I was "threatened" by her just scheduling her classes. I told her plainly: I felt unsafe because she sat right next to me with her phone out while I was undressed. She doubled down, kept making snide comments, then followed me out of the locker room mocking me with "have a nice day." That's when I lost it and told her to go fuck herself, that no one should be pulling out a phone next to a naked person in a locker room. At the front desk, they brushed me off, said the GM would call me. Two days later she finally did, and her cold, terse, completely unempathetic tone made everything worse. She told me the woman had every right to have her phone in the locker room - that their rules only included the use of recording devices in the locker room. Then she actually suggested that if I didn't want to risk being filmed, I should use the private changing area by the pool. That floored me. I told her they were risking a potential lawsuit by not enforcing stricter rules. She just said, "Yes, we sure are," in a way that made it clear she didn't care about my opinion at all. Then she asked, "Do you want anything else?" I said, yes, I want your bosses to call me. Ridiculous. Frustrating. And I think that "they" didn't enjoy interacting with me. So I'll keep coming. And I will keep complaining until they commit to a safer space for everyone.

I had to ask another gentleman how to start to get the display to start up. I saw one person filling cleaner bottles and the other was behind the counter. Again I guess I figured someone would be available to answer questions. Years ago when my wife joined she had to be on site to join, was given a tour and brief explanation on equipment operation. No one gave us the date of when the new business would be opening. Several people asked at the front desk and were told Wednesday, 27 August. Today, friends and I were walking near the new business and were told by someone outside the building that it's going to be at the end of the week. We were never given a specific date or a specific time by this person. Why did we not receive an email with this specific information? Aren't we as patrons of planet fitness entitled to be told? I sincerely hope the new place works out. If not, I will not be surprised. They keep all the information to themselves and never let anyone else know.

I have been coming to this YMCA Long before Waukesha took it over. It has mostly been a positive…read moreexperience. But I would be remiss if I did not mention some of the things that have been consistent issues with this facility and have become a grander annoyance to myself and other members recently. The biggest issue at this location is with maintenance. Things are constantly falling apart or breaking here. For example, in the last 4 months their leg sled machine in the free weight area was broken. They had an "equipment out of order" tag on for literally months. The issue itself was quite simple, the pin on the seat height adjuster just needs a new spring to keep it locked in. Well, such a simple fix went ignored for months. I come here almost everyday and I never once saw anyone try to fix it. Instead, after literally months, the "equipment out of order" sign just disappeared one day. Though *unsurprisingly*, no one had actually fixed it. I watched as multiple members hopped on the machine (myself included) and got quite the scare when the pin totally gave out and the seat slammed back under the weight of the sled. This is dangerous. I have occasionally seen some guy who looks like a third party maintenance worker occasionally stroll through the facility, but I have never once seen him actually fix anything. Same thing with some of their cardio equipment. They have a stair climber machine that has had an out of order tag on for going on close to a year now. Idk if they lease this equipment or if they totally own it, but regardless, they need to have someone either fix it or just get a replacement, as there's only three other stair climbers and depending on the time of the day, you may not be able to get on one. Minor thing, but it's just a pile on to the grander issue of things just left broken for months on end. The pool. I am not someone who uses the pool. But there are a lot of members that do. And at least twice a week, the pool is "broken". Same with the men's whirlpool. They seem to be better about getting these types of problems fixed much quicker than some of the exercise equipment. But the fact that it's constantly breaking tells me the entire system probably needs an overhaul, and is just being repeatedly band aid fixed. Understandable though, I can't imagine the cost to have it fully reoutfitted. The hours. This gym clearly is catering to the elderly populous that largely inhabits the Menomonee falls area, and as such, closes earlier than any other gym in the area. This may not be a problem if your bed time is 8pm, but if you're under the age of 60, you can appreciate still being able to go to the gym later at night, because on the weekends, they're only open until 4pm. And this changes depending on the season. It's just annoying having to keep up with the constantly changing hours when all their competitors are either 24 hours or cater to everyone rather than one demographic. All that said, it has everything I need, and the other members have generally been good people.
