Great gym that offers a ton of group classes. The facility is brand new. The only bad part is kinda expensive compared to the YMCA

This gym is very clean and the equipment is well maintained. Is it weird that the bathrooms here are my favorite out of any of the Anytime bathrooms I've seen? They are spacious with large sink and counter space as a stool, scale, and little rack if you need to take out and organize your stuff without throwing it on the floor or counter top. They have a separate area for TRX work, which is really neat. I'm surprised there are only 5 treadmills - I haven't had any issues getting on but compared to the other cardio equipment and the popularity of running/walking, it just seems sparse to me. They do offer personal training sessions here and have a room for On Demand workouts. On my first visit I did not realize the mats, exercise balls, and steps are also in the room so I was freaking out that I had no where to sit and stretch hahaha. Don't make my mistake - just venture into this room and do your thing! My only grip - which really isn't a big deal, I've just been spoiled - is that they do not have full cable channels on their tvs: local channels, ESPN, and HGTV (or something like that) only. My guilty pleasure while working out is usually the E! channel however FX, Comedy Central, or ABC Family are usually good for me... I try my hardest to get here early in the 4 o'clock hour so I can watch Ellen. Overall, very nice, clean, and everyone I've encountered (staff, fellow gym-goers) has been very friendly. I definitely recommend this location for your home gym or a good workout if you are on this side of town!

I have been coming to this YMCA Long before Waukesha took it over. It has mostly been a positive…read moreexperience. But I would be remiss if I did not mention some of the things that have been consistent issues with this facility and have become a grander annoyance to myself and other members recently. The biggest issue at this location is with maintenance. Things are constantly falling apart or breaking here. For example, in the last 4 months their leg sled machine in the free weight area was broken. They had an "equipment out of order" tag on for literally months. The issue itself was quite simple, the pin on the seat height adjuster just needs a new spring to keep it locked in. Well, such a simple fix went ignored for months. I come here almost everyday and I never once saw anyone try to fix it. Instead, after literally months, the "equipment out of order" sign just disappeared one day. Though *unsurprisingly*, no one had actually fixed it. I watched as multiple members hopped on the machine (myself included) and got quite the scare when the pin totally gave out and the seat slammed back under the weight of the sled. This is dangerous. I have occasionally seen some guy who looks like a third party maintenance worker occasionally stroll through the facility, but I have never once seen him actually fix anything. Same thing with some of their cardio equipment. They have a stair climber machine that has had an out of order tag on for going on close to a year now. Idk if they lease this equipment or if they totally own it, but regardless, they need to have someone either fix it or just get a replacement, as there's only three other stair climbers and depending on the time of the day, you may not be able to get on one. Minor thing, but it's just a pile on to the grander issue of things just left broken for months on end. The pool. I am not someone who uses the pool. But there are a lot of members that do. And at least twice a week, the pool is "broken". Same with the men's whirlpool. They seem to be better about getting these types of problems fixed much quicker than some of the exercise equipment. But the fact that it's constantly breaking tells me the entire system probably needs an overhaul, and is just being repeatedly band aid fixed. Understandable though, I can't imagine the cost to have it fully reoutfitted. The hours. This gym clearly is catering to the elderly populous that largely inhabits the Menomonee falls area, and as such, closes earlier than any other gym in the area. This may not be a problem if your bed time is 8pm, but if you're under the age of 60, you can appreciate still being able to go to the gym later at night, because on the weekends, they're only open until 4pm. And this changes depending on the season. It's just annoying having to keep up with the constantly changing hours when all their competitors are either 24 hours or cater to everyone rather than one demographic. All that said, it has everything I need, and the other members have generally been good people.

Started applying and the whole 10 minutes I was there the person was on the phone the whole time. Once I completed the application . I thanked the person behind the counter and all I got was "see you soon" . I guess I was expecting a "do you have any questions, would you like a tour", nope just back to their phone call. Today was the first time with the equipment and to my surprise, no information on how to get the exercise equipment started. I had to ask another gentleman how to start to get the display to start up. I saw one person filling cleaner bottles and the other was behind the counter. Again I guess I figured someone would be available to answer questions. Years ago when my wife joined she had to be on site to join, was given a tour and brief explanation on equipment operation. At least today I was greeted with a smile and have a good day when I left. Right now I'll give it a 1 as far as my experience

No one gave us the date of when the new business would be opening. Several people asked at the front desk and were told Wednesday, 27 August. We were never given a specific date or a specific time by this person. Why did we not receive an email with this specific information? Aren't we as patrons of planet fitness entitled to be told? I had always believed I had little-to-no physical prowess. Words like, "weakling," "delicate," and…read more"lazy" all come to mind. In the past, group exercise classes like yoga and bodypump held my interest briefly, but that interest would wane within a month. I joined Top Line at the urging of a friend, and within two weeks my attitudes toward myself and my abilities changed dramatically. This isn't a fancy gym. There is no upscale locker room, no juice bar, no supplements station, no tanning beds. It's a former warehouse with hardcore equipment, and it's given me the greatest workout of my life. More than that, it's given me greater physical strength than I've ever possessed, and results I still can't believe. I started out with two sessions a week, quickly upped that to three, and then added a strength program soon after. It turns out that there is nothing more addictive than results. Within a month of joining, I started seeing muscle definition. Soon after, my clothing sizes began to drop (I went from a snug ladies' 12 to a loose 6 within a few months). I was sleeping better, had more energy, and people around me started to notice how different I looked. Top Line changed me physically, but it also changed my attitudes and habits. Through meal planning and guidance, my diet has become dramatically healthier. I have become "that girl" who encourages her friends to exercise, who helps others with food choices, and who can recommend a great protein shake... things that still surprise me. While the equipment and programming is top-of-the-line, the real Top Line experience comes from the people. This is a gym where the coaches and your fellow gym-goers work as a team. Everyone encourages and assists. I never feel afraid that I'm doing something incorrectly, or that I'm going to hurt myself, because there is always someone there to assist and guide. It's something I'd never experienced in a gym before, and it's definitely on the list of top ten things that keep me coming back. Top Line isn't just physique-changing. It's life-changing. Get in here!

For my 500th review, I've selected to review my new workout facility. Well, it's new to me, anyway…read more Anytime Fitness was recommended to me (along with some other places) after I graduated from cardiac rehabilitation as a way to continue my cardiac exercise program. I happened to receive a 30 day trial membership about that same time, and gave it a try. I found the facility to be large and well equipped and there is a large training room. (Classes are offered for members, too.) The club has a large locker room with individual shower stalls. Although they don't have my particular favorite piece of exercise equipment, they do have a myriad of stair steppers, recumbent bikes, treadmills and other exercise gear. I have no idea what some of them are, let alone, how to use them but there is a staff of knowledgeable trainers to show you how they work and aid you in choosing your best exercise program. There is also a large array of weight lifting machines and free weights for any style and weight range. You'll find a selection of medicine balls, mats, and other floor exercise aids. There's even a sun tanning bed although there are two chances of me ever using it...and Slim is on a diet. The facility is clean and the equipment is maintained. If there's anything you need, ask the manager. Shauna is there to help you. You membership allows you access to the facility any time (nod, nod, wink, wink) 24/7 and no matter what time you're here, you're probably not alone. Although not monitored in the wee hours, there are many ways to contact first responders in an emergency. Your membership also allows you access to any of the Anytime Fitness centers you might find when you travel. To top it all off, they participate in the Silver Sneakers program. If you don't know what Silver Sneakers is, you're probably too young to qualify for it anyway. You'll find an interesting mix of users of all ages, shapes and sizes. (Silver Sneakers sealed the deal for me.) I use the facility two to four times a week and I believe it is a safe and comfortable environment for anyone. See you there!
