By the front desk and managers offices it does smell like McDonalds often. I'm on a strict diet and I crave French fries. It's tempting to just skip the gym and just hit McDonalds after smelling that food every time I come in in the club... Wish there was a selection of Protein products on a shelf to help my cravings. Fitness machines are a little older than a lot of other gyms that have cheaper memberships that are 24/7 however this is local and love to give back. However, a lot of the time their machines are broken for weeks at a time which stinks as sometimes things are limited. There was an accident once where I got a piece of metal stuck in my hand from a machine that wasn't properly maintained well. I went to the front desk and they didn't have a first aid kit. They said sorry, out of luck. What if this was a kid? I used a pen without the tip of course to pry it out and threw the pen out then of course washed my hand and wrapped it. Management has printed paper signs posted saying Not allowed to take photos or videos in mirrors. I'm assuming this is of yourself working out or training all over the place? Not sure what this is about... However, I've seen people doing this anyway along with Management. What's the point of these signs? I don't remember signing an agreement stating this isn't allowed at the gym. I use to love bringing my daughter there until everyone she was getting use to watching her ended up quitting. I later find out that staff members that were on call weren't paid to be on call. It's Illinois state law to pay employees if they are on call if hourly or salary. That said, it made me sad for the employees as I felt they were being taken advantage of. I didn't bring this up to management as it's not my business, anything I have brought up to them in the past they have brushed me off, ignored, or made me feel like I was the only one out there that asked such questions. I suggested that they stock Protein shakes, protein bars, healthy products on shelves and so on. I was told that I was the only person that's made these suggestions and that no one else brought it this to their attention. This is far from the truth, as many people at the gym have told me that they have spoke to the same person I spoke with and they have also been ignored. Now I go to another gym in which they have been open to suggestions, work with me and their customers with no push back. It's 24/7, local and cheaper. Much more opportunity at this place than this last one. Genoa Fitness won't last long with a closed mindset.

He is a kettle bell/boxing coach/nutritionist that runs classes 7 days a week morning and evenings. Ages 7 up to people in their 90s. This gym maybe small but it has everything that anyone could want in a boutique gym aimed at helping every walk of life reach their goals!!! Cardio tennis programs are fun too. The upstairs fitness areas have plenty of cardio options, and there is an indoor tracks around the exterior if you want to walk or run on the floor. There are several varieties of weight lifting machines and a large free weight area. Bonus space behind the free weights is open floor so ace and specialized machines for strength. There are always fitness trainers giving people a lesson or orientation so it's friendly to all levels of fitness. Saunas and pool are a bonus.
