My daughter signed a one year contract, using my credit card. She moved away, and I waited for her year to be up, then went to cancel her membership. They wouldn't let me do that, she had to. I blocked my card, so it wouldn't be charged anymore, and now they won't cancel because she "owes" money, plus they want her (me) to pay for an extra month on top of the month they wouldn't let me cancel her membership! As some people have already noted, this gym has all the equipment and a friendly staff. However, as others have noted, getting them to end your contract, even at its actual end-date, isn't easy. I had a 6-month training contract with a clear end-date, but they simply kept charging me past that date. I had to call a number of times to insist they stop charging me and finally managed to get them to refund one month's post-end-date charge, but they refused to refund another month before they finally stopped charging me. I have read that this is a trend these days - illegally continuing charges past contract end-dates, not just at gyms, but especially at gyms. read more

Started a membership WAAAY before COVID..when COVID hit, I didn't feel comfortable going to the gym any longer and also had some financial issues due to the pandemic. I called to beg them to let me out of my contract and they refused. I asked to speak to Tony, the owner and the lady I spoke with told me no, I could not speak with him because he would tell me the same thing she told me. I've been trying to get someone to take my membership over since OCTOBER with no luck. I called again to ask for advice on how to get someone to take my membership over and was told that "I'm doing transfers every single day, it's not hard to find someone to take it over." So here I am, still uncomfortable going to the gym and still paying $60/month for something I don't use. This gym is garbage the equipment sucks and they lock you into a contract with no way out unless you die. And even the they will tell you at the beginning you can cancel any time but then when you do try to they stone wall you. I'm 100% disabled and I can do a lot of hard works but me being me I tried here and it did t work physically for me so I had to get my doctor to tell them to cancel my contract. I have been an Anytime Fitness member for almost 15 years, starting out in Moscow and then switching to Pullman when I relocated to Pullman. A few months ago while Washington was in the process of re-opening the first time, there was about a 4-6 week period where the Moscow gym was open and operating (with pandemic guidelines), but the Pullman gym wasn't. Since Anytime Fitness gives members the benefit to work out at different locations, I chose to work out in Moscow during this few-week transition period while waiting for Washington gyms to reopen. During which, very few people were using the gyms, there was no crowding whatsoever. Didn't have to compete for a machine or even work out next to anyone. After my second day working out, I was CHASED out to my car by the owner of Moscow Anytime Fitness (Tony, I believe is his name), YELLED AT for using the facilities, and told that if I had intended on using the facilities going forward I would have the window of 8pm-5am to use them. How gracious to "allow" members from other gyms the opportunity to work out during the most inconvenient hours ever when we join the gym with the understanding we can work out "anytime" at any location. Due to my work schedule, those hours did not work for me. I was amazed at the unprofessional conduct and unwillingness to accommodate a member during a pandemic that has been paying monthly dues for YEARS. If you don't want members from other locations working out in your gym, then maybe don't own a gym that gives that as a benefit to its members. It's also really baffling to me that the owner was more concerned about screaming at me for doing something "wrong" (ya know, using the gym) then he was about earning my trust and switching my membership to Moscow so I could start paying a higher rate to him. Do NOT sign any form of contract with these people. They will nickel and dime you out of every penny you have and make it incredibly hard to cancel membership. If you are not a permanent resident of Moscow or are a student I would absolutely not recommend going here. read more

I'm confused to all the negative reviews as I have never encountered anything negative from the owner Tony or any of the staff at all. I didn't use the gym for a while because of Covid and health issues but when I came back this summer, their new manager Jessie greeted me with friendly, "Hi Tom!" The gym has great equipment, and is sparkling clean. I'm looking forward to continuing my membership with the Moscow Anytime Fitness. read more

The staff blatantly refused to let me cancel my membership even though my contract was up. I don't even live in Moscow anymore. A couple of days later I found out I had some serious health issues and ended up in the hospital with a major surgery. While I was in the hospital my debit card expired. Nearly $200.00 later they still won't communicate with me and I'm being threatened with collections. I haven't even worked since then. They are rude and dismissive. read more

This gym is great. it is always clean and the staff is helpful and friendly not to mention always there, and available during posted hours. The equipment works fine and I have not experienced any faulty equipment. Nor have I had any negative experiences or extended payments taken after a contract expired. I have and will continue to recommend this gym to friends. read more

The other reviews should tell you what you need to know. I signed a two year contract which ended in January. I called to make sure my account was paid off, which they told me it was. Today I was charged another monthly fee, and had to go in to cancel my already finished contract. Then I was told I would be charged for next month as well. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for a fitness club, unless you want to be nickeled and dimed every month. I will never sign up for anything this business offers again, and I suggest you do the same. read more

Terrible customer service. I tried to sign up and stopped in, but the woman at the desk didn't know the terms and referred me to a 'Tony' who I'm assuming is the GM. "Tony' seemed busy with someone else. I said I would walk around while waiting, and the woman said I could not do that should wait for 'Tony'. So I left. This place is wonderful (and under new management). If you belong to Anytime Fitness, you can use any place in the country, and I've been to several Anytime Fitnesses. This is by far the best. The variety of equipment is awesome, WAY better than anyplace else I've been. I've worked with a couple of trainers, both of whom were also awesome. They understood my goals and helped me achieve them. The new managers are really terrific. I can't recommend this highly enough. read more

The staff was rushed to show me the gym to get me to sign a contract on the spot. You cannot cancel your membership unless you move 25 miles away from ANY anytime fitness or literally die. I was under the assumption that the 12 month membership would stop, but they keep charging you after that period of time unless you go in and cancel it (even if you have moved away) The staff was kind, and I understand that it's not their fault but it's always frustrating when businesses try to squeeze every penny, nickel & dime out of you without trying to understand your personal situation. I would look into North Idaho Athletic Club or the Rec Center on campus for a cheaper gym. read more

Would honestly give no stars if possible. I find it funny that I received a pop up before this review about how businesses are doing the best they can during COVID-19. This business is really not. I have emailed during this time about how I truly cannot afford their membership due to losing my job. What they don't tell you when you sign up is that it is ridiculously hard to find someone to take over your membership. When looking into signing up I truly felt like I was obligated to sign up with these people. I read a review previously about a young woman who was tough enough to not bend to their pressure tactics. As someone with an anxiety disorder, I was simply not that way. This business will absolutely drain you of money. It is so expensive. They also will do their best to lock you into a two year contract (yes, I made this mistake too) because its a better deal month to month supposedly. I am now in debt because of this gym. Would not recommend to anyone. Ever. That being said though... are you looking to take over a membership? For $41 a month you can totally take mine!! read more

Don't confuse AF contract issues with the quality of this gym. It's well managed, clean and friendly. If you want a place you can go "anytime" and you're committed to it, then this is a great place to make your gym home. Yes, there is a contract that you can only get out of under certain circumstances. For me, it works out to less than $500 a year. I've dropped 40 pounds, so frankly, that money was well spent. Some of the older negative comments are from the previous owners, and the others are confusing the franchise rules with the actual Moscow gym. The first time I went here was before Christmas 2015. My husband and I had signed up for the 7 day pass online. When we arrived, the manager told us that he would not honor any passes until after the new year. His reasoning was that college kids who were home on break might try to take advantage of the free week. We explained that we are Moscow residents and my husband happened to have taken some vacation days, so this was the perfect time for us to try out the gym. (The gym is 24/7, but the pass only works during staffed hours. The pass is worthless if you work 10-hour days outside of Moscow.) The manager would not budge on his decision to not honor our passes. In fact his whole demeanor was off-putting. The owners would be well served to send this guy to a seminar on customer service, because I've never met someone in a sales position that treated customers so rudely. My husband works in Lewiston and recently went to that Anytime Fitness. He received his 7 day pass with no problems. His experience with the manager there was excellent. The membership price she quoted was $10 cheaper per month than the Moscow price. The Moscow club is so much more convenient for me that I convinced my reluctant husband to go back and talk to them again. We met with the same rude manager. We asked if we could get the same monthly rate we were offered in Lewiston. He acted personally offended. Really, buddy? It's just business. He made some silly comment like "You wouldn't go to a restaurant and try to negotiate the price of your meal, would you?" No, but that isn't really the same thing, is it? Would I ask Howard Hughes to match the price of an appliance on sale at Deranleau's? You betcha!! He tried to explain that the rent is so much cheaper in Lewiston and Pullman that they can offer better prices. (I didn't know Pullman had an Anytime fitness, so I guess one good thing came out of this meeting.) In the end I congratulated him on his business being so successful that he does not need any more customers. After all, it's pointless to continue arguing with an idiot, because you'll never get anywhere. This guy was so fixated on not losing that $120 over the course of the year, he essentially let $720 walk out the door. This confirmed my earlier suspicion that he is clueless when it comes to sales. My husband and I drove over to Pullman to check out that Anytime Fitness. There, we met with the owner who was extremely nice. (We found out he also owns the club in Lewiston.). He offered us the same rate. He'll even let us keep the joint rate even though my husband's primary gym will be Lewiston. So, I will be joining the club in Pullman. With the extra gas, I'll probably end up paying about the same as a Moscow membership. However, I am satisfied my money is going to a better place. Also, after the first 30 days you can go to any Anytime Fitness in the country. That means I can still use the Moscow club if I want. (I just have to make sure I go to Pullman more often than Moscow.) read more

I went into the gym with the free 7-day trial pass to see how I liked the facilities and if I wanted to join. I called beforehand to make sure I could bring in the email I received confirming my 7-day trial. When I got to the gym, I was informed that the trial was "at the discretion of the manager," despite the fact that I had called to confirm I could use the pass AND the pass is advertised on their Moscow club website. One employee (Carlos?) was perfectly respectful, but the other physically stood over me as I was sitting in the office filling out a waiver and accused me of gaming the system by using the pass. He finally, reluctantly, said I could use the facilities that evening and they would call me with a final decision that night. I resent that he thought I could be intimidated into buying a pass on the spot without trying out the gym. Yes, I am a single female. No, I will not submit to your small-minded attempt at brow-beating me into signing a contract. I strongly disapprove of the blatant disrespect demonstrated by this employee as well as their dishonest advertising. Needless to say, my money will be going to North Idaho Athletic Club on the recommendation of a friend. read more

Here is my honest review about Anytime Fitness in Moscow: The staff members in the beginning were very friendly and encouraging. Joining the Gym was simple, and the getting everything prepared felt straightforward; auto-pay from the bank, creating the key fob to enter the gym, use of equipment and peak hours, etc. Once we were in the Gym however, this is where things I felt turned sour. After a year of being at the gym, I called the gym and wanted to cancel my membership due to the fact I wasn't utilizing the gym. (I am a student and students can use the recreational center since they pay for it as part of their student fees) According to whomever I had talked to, they had stated that this was possible, but we had to pay the cost of what the 1 year price would have been and the remainder of the membership for that year, a total of $500 between the 2 of us. Unable to do that and frustrated but acknowledging of the answer, we paid out the remainder of the 2 year option. After the 2 years had ended, I had found that I was still being charged as normal. Upset and frustrated, I talked with Levi who had presented himself as the owner shortly after our discussion. He had explained to me that according to my contract, I had signed up for an auto-renewal of the membership and thus, would not reimburse me the 2 months of membership fees and the membership semi-annual equipment fees I had paid and informed me that I would have technically have to give them a 30-day written notice to cancel my membership, thus informing me of yet another month of charges coming my way. After some time, he informed me that he would waiver the membership fee caused by the 30-day noticed and later called me to inform me he would return the equipment fees. Both times however, he still denied returning the 2 months of fees. 2/5 As for the facility itself, I did not have as negative of an experience. Overall the gym was clean and the peak hours were for the most part accurate. The showers were clean and many of the members were respectful and took care of the equipment. The gym also provided the ability to put charges onto your account if you wanted to pay for personal equipment (headphones, shirts, etc.) and activities such as competitions where they gave out prizes to the winners who participated. 4/5 Overall, I would recommend that anyone joining this gym make sure that whenever they have a question to refer to the contract you signed in the beginning and send them an E-MAIL. I recommend this so that everything you say or get told is in writing as the owner will NOT honor anything explained to you by other staff members, regardless of the validity of the claim. Also note, that this entity does NOT accept cancellations of this membership over the phone, so cancelling in person is a must, no matter the situation. 1/5 On a final note, although disappointed and frustrated, in the fact that I could not get my 2 months of fees reimbursed to me I do understand where he is coming from as a business owner. Therefore, given the overall review I decided to rate the following as a 2-star. EDIT: yelp.com states that the owners are Rick and Teresa Taylor. I have been a member of Anytime Fitness in Moscow Idaho for about three years and i cannot say enough wonderful things about them! The facility is large with great equipment and always very clean ! Chris the manager is AMAZING! He is easy to approach, kind, and knows the names of all the clients he really makes you feel like you belong at the gym! The owners are seen often around the gym and are very kind people. If you are looking for a personal trainer i cannot recommend Alyssa enough! She works with your schedule and is so encouraging! This is a gym where you do not have to worry about showing off or dressing up everyone is there for the same reason just to work out. It is a comfortable environment and is easily the best gym i have ever been a part of. read more
