This store doesn't reliably stock fruit flies because one regular customer has been buying out the entire supply every week for the past several months, as soon as they arrive. Staff explained that the store doesn't control its own inventory and cannot increase the order size. It's unfortunate that the store functions as a single-customer wholesale supplier, especially since it's the only store in the region that carries fruit flies at all. Because of this, we've had to look for another store with a more dependable supply to feed our pets. read more

the grooming did a wonderful job with my dog I would give them 5 stars. but there was a lot of dead goldfish in there tanks. there was only one person on the floor and they where running the register and helping people but there was someone else that kept paging for a person up front but it was not her sense she was helping someone I don't know what kind of business that is to have one person that can be found and some that's can't. she had a wonderful attitude on her and apologize for not being up front she said she was helping another person. we said that was fine but you need to get more staff or get the person out of hiding. and stop moving products around i just started to find everything again. read more

when did Petco policies get so weird? they wouldn't accept my rabies vaccination papers because a very reputable vet had written in the date instead of a computer copy or some such nonsense. my small dog HATES to be groomed so gets a little snippy. they wouldn't take her because they are not allowed to muzzle a dog. What the heck?? going to a groomer in Pullman. have heard other weird stories from other people as well. read more

very rude to the elderly. I asked if I could have a bag to carry out the cans of dog food I just purchased to my car. The cashier clicked her tongue loudly, reached for a bag, threw the cans in the bag and threw the bag down on the counter. My husband and I are fairly new to the world of fish. We went to Petco looking for a filter part and the managers went through some things to find us just what we needed. Then when we went back to get some fish, the employees were really kind and helpful and really knowledgeable about fish. The entire staff was really friendly. I will be a return customer!! Flies everywhere! Good luck getting in and out without them landing on you and your purchases. It's disgusting!!! The cashier said, "Sorry about that. It's cold outside and they're just trying to get in where it's warm." I've Got news for you. Flies are not attracted to warmth. They are attracted to things that smell bad and rotten dead stuff. That many flies are not coming in from outside anywhere. They are in there and you have a maggot problem. I'm never coming in this store again. It was truly horrifying. read more

They seem to have nicer individuals working in the Petco Grooming Salon now. They also do a great job with my dog. However they just informed me they won't take pets over 14 years old. That irritates me. They could have just used dog age to charge more rather than turning me away completely after I've been going there for years! My dog is nervous enough to go in to grooming and now I have to find somewhere else??? Not cool. read more

I have never been so disappointed with service. I went in for puppy training a few months ago, the trainer wasn't there for the schedule time so I waited a half hour for them to show up, paid $35 for a class that said it was free online and then spent 30 minutes with a trainer who said I was doing everything right and had no advice for me. Fast forward to today, I took my dog to their groomers. She had long hair that I wanted shortened to the yorkie puppy cut (picture). She had some matted parts in her hair but not too many. I figured the ones she had they would brush out. I got her back and they completely shaved her. I am furious. She is a tiny dog that will not do well in the cold shaved and loves to play in the snow. Also I could have shaved her myself if that's what I wanted done and not paid $50. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Went in today to buy a pet fish and they were very rude. I walked up the counter and all 4 grown ass women were glaring like I just spit in their face. The store is clean and the staff are friendly! I have a hedgehog and not a typical cat/dog so I'm not sure how knowledgable they are about products but I thought it was a great store overall. Lots of products to choose from and the pets for sale (fish, rodents, reptiles, etc.) looked healthy. I'm glad we finally have a decent pet store in this location! read more

I usually don't have problems. I have dogs and 5 (yesterday I had 6) guinea pigs. I'm not blaming anyone about the death of my Guinea Pig but if you sell Guinea pigs, you should also sell critical care or at least another brand if they get sick. Seems that you are happy to sell Guinea Pigs and putting them in glass tanks and knowing that THEY need a lot more room than a glass tank. They are exotic animals and fragile. Today on a Sunday I asked 2 employees for critical care and pretty much got a blank store. I asked why they don't sell it if they are not ready to have emergency medicine to help them in an emergency. When my piggy got sick it was at 1am. So he didn't make it. My fault that I wasn't ready with critical care before. I trying to not make another mistake. Critical Care (or another brand) should be available to purchase. Tomorrow I will go to Pets are People too who have it in stock for about $12 bucks. If you stock animals to purchase, you also need to have medicine to give them a fighting chance to survive. I will not be buying another Guinea Pig from your store as you are not able to sell me the critical care that is needed. read more

Even though it's a smaller petco, I feel like they still have a good selection. I also love how they price match and I almost never have to pay full price on something. Every employee I've interacted with was nice and seemed knowledgeable enough. But honestly, it's a chain pet store so I dont generally go in there seeking advice. Overall, I'm glad we have another option in town. read more

Saw a woman lifting huge sacks of dogfood from high up with improper technique and no protective gear at all the last time I was here. The boss is complained about often; the employees don't seem happy. I was also given improper information regarding aquatic snails, which of course I didn't follow. I chose to support local businesses instead in the area. read more

Absolute worst experience with purchasing a snake from this store. Animal was sick and injured at purchase. Staff there had no clue. The person working the floor was terrified to bring out any of the snakes. They have zero experience and are pretty much clueless when it comes to the animals that they're selling. Unfortunately my snake wouldn't eat and passed away within a few weeks. It's habitat was properly maintained with temp and humidity. During the entire time I contacted Petco multiple times asking for help but they offered little to none. When it passed I called the manager Jill on duty to ask what could be done. She informed me that she would locate my contract and call me back. Never got a call back so I went to the store the next day. She admitted to blowing me off. Had I not gone in she would have never called me. While talking to her about being reimbursed she was extremely negative and condescending. She was extremely rude to my fiancée as well. Definitely should not be a manager. Anyone who reads this please avoid this store and go to your local Pets Are People Too. They know what the hell they're doing. read more

Usually I really like this store. It's small but they seem to have quite a good selection and good sales people. So, when I brought my dog in on Saturday to have his nails clipped, I was turned away by a very rude young lady in the grooming session. I believe her name is Taylor. No smile, the WORST customer service I have ever received in my life. Apparently, my dog was in the system (which I did not realize). But she said, she could would not clip his nails until I show proof that he has had his shots. First I was shocked that they even had that in the system but it was her face expression, her wording and no sincerity what's so ever! You could tell she HATES her job! All I could do was stare at her with confusion to why she was even there! If she was nice and explained, I would of been more than happy to run home and get his shot records. I will never go back!!! You need to fire Taylor before she ruins your reputation. read more
