I was flagged by manager Miguel Lull for a rules violation via Email with no contact or other attempts to remedy. An email was sent (no calls or texts) and subsequently locked out of the gym (at 3am) without knowing what was going on, I thought key fob had demagnetized similar to hotel access card. I piggybacked into the gym as I assumed the problem was equipment, as I have sold my extensive home gym prior to retirement and moving. I have been a member for 7 years without interruption except for Plandemic. I came back during staffed hours and inquired what was going on. The employee said I was blocked access for "violations" I asked to speak to manager as employee cannot remove block. He got manager on phone (so he was then at work--by California law) and he refused to speak to me and told employee to come and see him on Monday, refusing my request to remove such block by telling what the violations where. This was done in badge heavy arrogant fashion with him working and refusing to explain why a paying customer is being denied services. I perceived his intent to be punitive and arrogant in nature by not even speaking to me while he was working and to return to his excellency on Monday for an Audience. TOTALLY WRONG, ARROGANT, BAD FOR BUSINESS AND CONFRONTATIONAL. I cancelled my membership after this stopped payment with my bank on any future payments, threw the key fob in the trash and washed my hands of 7 years of dues (less Plandemic time) with this business due the arrogant actions of manger MIGUEL LULL OF ANYTIME FITNESS NOVATO. I'm making my move from Planet Fitness to find a local gym. I've always liked the idea of having 24-hour accessibility. More importantly, Miguel Llull at Anytime Fitness is sincere and authentic, making you feel at home. He greeted members by name and also acknowledged the maintenance guy as an integral part of the team. Anytime Fitness has a clean environment with all the equipment that I need. I visited this gym on Tuesday and was instantly greeted by Miguel. He gave me a full tour of the facility, which looked to be well kept. The gym is on the smaller side but it has all of the essentials for someone starting their fitness journey. Miguel was very pleasant and made sure to inform me about their security measures. Decent small gym catering to mainstream casual gym goers. They do have three squat racks in very good condition, with 3 belts, so if you are here to get strong there is some hope! Clientele seem cool. I don't think this gym has a phone, no one answers during business hours. I'm not sure why they list a dead phone number on their website. Probably should be reported to Anytime Fitness HQ. I called while outside, while someone was in the staff booth, but no one answered. Worrying if you need to modify your membership. The gym suffers from being too small and not making ideal use of the space for strength. Some suggestions: - There is only one of some high use equipment: dip/pull up station, dip belt, rowing machine. The squat racks have pull up bars at a good height but hogging a squat rack for pull ups is no bueno. Having multiple of these high use items would reduce wait time. I haven't had to wait to do dips at a gym before! There is no dip attachment bars for the squat racks either. - Dumbbell rack looked good but could probably double the number of the weights there and add more 2.5lb increments. - No chalk, no chalk brushes. Heavy lifts will suffer - No ladder / stall bars. There's a yoga room upstairs which might be a good place for it. - No Olympic rings nor good place to hang them (there are TRX straps) - No 1.25 pound plates, which puts some limits on barbell training - In general could ditch some of the weight machines and cardio machines in favor of proper strength training equipment. Fortunately there is only one Smith machine! - I don't recall if they had a Roman chair but it's always good to have one at a gym read more

I just wanted people to know that I had a very poor experience at this gym. Originally, I had been a member for two years. When I wanted to renew my membership in full, I got into it with the gyms manager who was outwardly rude and insulting! I was very upset and I attempted to talk with the gyms agent, but the manager intercepted my call and continued to insult me! Finally, I managed to get in contact with the agent who then informed me that I should go to "another gym". The only gym I'll go to! The management and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a good range of different equipment and even red light therapy. They also have showers and lockers for small-medium valuables. It's a smaller sized gym, so it has a more chill vibe than other gyms. read more

I really wish the owners reads my review. I enrolled at the gym in novato. For some reason they took me to a machine to let me know what I need to work on . That's great they do that. They gave me something like a watch to keep track of my progress. Great ... They made me sign a contract where I'm supposed to pay every 2 weeks, but the problem here is that they never told me about the clases and schedules. I went to this location in person looking to cancel because according to my schedule there is no clases. I explained to them that my brother has just passed, I could bring prove of that and that I have been traveling to my home country often. They were not accommodating, with my schedule, with what I told them, they do not have any clases pass midnight which is what I'm looking for, because I also take care of my disable brother, who I can also provide prove of. They told me the only person who can fix it is the owners not the managers. Last Tuesday the manager I think his name is Ryan, told me he was going to text me. He never did. Please please you made me sign something for my clases I'm willing to take them, but u don't have them available on my schedule. I'm also being paying for them for 2+ months and it's unfair for me when I'm struggling money wise. Please have a heart and don't force me to pay some service im not using. Nicole (Manager), texted me to set-up a time for a walk-trough, after a little back/forth, mostly bc Nicole's preferred schedule, we landed on 10am today. Got there. She took 1 look at me & said "oh, corp cxl'd the 7 day pass". It's on their website, we spoke prior to me getting there, then I drive up from San Rafael, "sorry". I texted I was going to post this unless Nicole put me in touch with "corp to confirm". 3 texts, no response. So here. All they want is your money & sell you additional services. I had joined AnyTime Fitness back in 2018/2019. I then put my membership on hold due to heal reasons. I am back as of Dec 2022 and very happy to have returned. The Gym is Clean and I always see staff walking around cleaning and organizing. I have been doing One to One Personal Training and Kathryn/Taylor were both very helpful. Happy To Be Back! Great location, lots of parking, clean, nice equipment. Why 3 stars then? I kept paying my membership fees for 2 years, including during Covid. Had not used the place in forever, and so I finally canceled my account in December. AF they kept charging my monthly fees, claiming there was no record of me canceling my account (I called) when I finally followed up. Of course it is my responsibility to stay on top of that, which I admittedly did not, but management was just less than helpful, flat out refusing any type of refund. Even just one month would have been a nice gesture, considering the many months I paid without using the facilities (an easy usage fob check confirms as much). read more

I love Anytime Fitness! I started training with Lamont in March and Taylor since May. I started my journey needing the extra help since I'm starting from scratch. Both trainers have taken their time to explain the importance of each exercise and which muscle it works out. Both are also very knowledgeable and personable. I attend classes with Taylor and they're so much fun! Taylor makes sure to get everyone hyped up and selects a good playlist for us. Not to mention he also dims the lights and turns on the "party lights" and always yells "let's get shredded". I have nothing but great things to say about Anytime Fitness and about Lamont and Taylor. I had an amazing time training at this gym this summer, and would not be leaving if I didn't have to relocate for school. Plenty of amenities and equipment that was well kept, functional, and clean. Most importantly, the staff is incredible. All members of the team were helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable! I feel like I am going into the school year with a new plethora of exercise-related knowledge I did not have before. The trainers really listen to you and care about your goals and well-being. I worked mainly with Lamont who made me excited to come workout every day and taught me a lot about proper form and how to actually work out. Jordan and Taylor were incredibly helpful too and always friendly. I only got to work with them once each but really enjoyed both workouts. Super sad to have to leave but definitely recommend. read more

Small, distressed, gloomy place + unprofessional staff. False advertisement. Scheduled an appointment with a staff member Stephanie Sanchez, because I claimed FREE 7-day pass as advertised on Anytime Fitness website. Instead, Stephanie Sanchez wanted to rip me off for $20, saying that she doesn't know anything about that promotion, and only one way to test a gym is to buy 1-day pass for $20. I had no problem to test Anytime Fitness at other locations like Sausalito and Pacifica (clean, lots of workout stations, friendly staff), where I ended up singing for membership. This location is not worth even $1 per visit. Update regarding gym owner's reply: that's what I call a false advertisement. Offering 7-day free pass, then schedule an appointment, then saying no Free Pass, and trying to charge a fooled customer. Also, if there is restriction in Marin County based on capacity restriction, why my appointment was scheduled for particular time? However, Anytime Fitness in Sausalito, (Marin County as well) had no problem to honor me with 7-day free pass. read more

I was disappointed with this place by the end. Especially when it comes to canceling. I waited patiently as I understand that during these time they may be overwhelmed with emails but when both my spouse and I continue to get billed after attempting to reach out several times isn't good. It's a small gym, workers are friendly. It's open 24 hours so there's no excuses to skip this gym. I like to go after work, it's not too busy at night. And they have a room upstairs that is always open, great for stretching or doing some floor workouts away from everyone. They have WiFi. I attended Glenda's Build class a few hours ago. The music was great. She had all the exercises written on a "white board" so I knew where I needed to go next. I was very eager to move to the next exercise, but Glenda said "you need to wait and give your body a rest." The music was fun and I started doing my exercise's to the beat of the music. She was also making sure that I was in the correct position and challenging myself during the whole class. I was disappointed when it was over. I can't wait for her burn class at 1p.m. on 6/9. I hope I will see a lot of people in her class soon. read more

Buyer beware. The owner of this location also owns the Morro Bay location that has 100+ accounts that were restarted during the shutdown without consent or notification to the member. The regional manager who oversees both locations refused to work with me and correct the situation with the collections agency. Not once did they make a single attempt to contact me to notify me or resolve the situation before sending it collections, which I would've been happy to do.
