My insurance company secured a rental for me at this location after my wife's car was the victim of a hit and run. Enterprise called me several days ago to schedule an appointment time to pick up the rental. This Friday morning I drove my wife (who had to take time off from work to go) 20 miles for the scheduled appointment. We were advised they only had one car on the lot and it wasn't released in their computer. They said to try back later this afternoon. 40 mile round trip wasted. They could have at least called and rescheduled knowing I had an appointment and they had no cars available. Update - Called Customer service and filed a complaint at 11:11am. I was told that what happened was unacceptable, that they would forward it to management, find me a car and call me back. It is now 3:30pm and nothing. My wife's car has to go in the shop Monday. It's Friday and looking like she'll have nothing to drive. Went back to Enterprise website - complaint chat - told me they couldn't say when I might be contacted - to call the Greenville location back myself and "cut out the middle man". REDICULOUS! Update 2 - Called local office as advised - Redirected me to corporate! Was told they probably had their phones forwarded because they had no cars! I suppose I am supposed to make another 40 mile trip to check the status of my rental because they won't call me back with info and won't answer the phone at the location? -- I give up. Update 3 - tried once more - redirected to corporate again - guy said he would contact all locations near my zip code and someone would call me. - Now 6:07pm - Nothing. Hit the complaint chat again just to vent. - was told my case was being upgraded to the highest importance! wow! Still nothing. Update 4 - Saturday - 11:00am - Managed to contact the Greenville location by phone - was put on hold for 30 minutes - then transferred to corporate again. I was advised he would have me a car at the Greenville location in the morning, to go pick it up. I told him I needed a phone call from the local office confirming the car was there and ready before I drove to Greenville again. He then decided to do some "checks". He then responded that the earliest they might have a car ready was Thursday, that there was nothing available near my Zip Code! I asked why they made the reservation with no car available. He stated it's first come - first serve and a walk-in probably got the car I had reserved. What's the purpose of a reservation then???

I see that there are a lot of complaints regarding phone issues, I too was concerned. HOWEVER, when I got there, I realized that everyone was working hard to accommodate a lot of people. They are busy and it takes time to fill out the paperwork to get a car. They do a great job from what I could see, and I received great service!! Give them another chance. Enterprise if you need someone to answer calls at peak time, I will be more than happy to help you, I have great customer service skills. Thank you for the great service I received. Keep at it.

    What a disappointment. I am a National club member and last Saturday I stopped by the airport…read morelocation to pick up my economy vehicle. There were two guys lounging in the chairs at the back of the booth. I told them I was there for my pick up and they were like "oh, we do the detailing". Okay, I get that. Then the front desk member arrives and and tells me they only have a Dodge Ram Pick up. I am like, you have cars out there and a gas guzzling Dodge Ram pickup was not what I needed for the week. So I asked about the cars and they tell me that they have rentals available in New Bern (45 miles away) and Jacksonville (65 miles away). But they don't offer to help me get there. I mentioned to them they should have called me to let me know there was an issue with my rental, and the response was " well we normally provide an upgrade to the next vehicle class" but had nothing to say when My response was an economy to a pick up doesn't fit my needs. They told me they might have a car the next day. I guess my issue was they had returns in the lot that were dirty but couldn't go out to clean them. Very very disappointed. I ended up renting from Budget. National, send your folks back to customer service training.

    It's hard to know what kind of service you will get from an agent at a rental counter. I've rented…read morefrom this place several times and have been consistently underwhelmed. It's a small airport (1 or 2 gates), so predicting when passengers would like to pickup a car shouldn't be too hard. Yet, on more than one occasion I have waited more than 20 minutes on a counter agent. Once, I waited for more than 30 minutes and when the agent finally appeared, he announced that Avis didn't have any cars. Put a sign up or something. It's not organic chemistry, shouldn't be that difficult. Also, no covered load/unload area and the airport expansion/renovation makes navigating to the rental counter a pain. There really isn't much of an option here, but that doesn't mean they should be excused from trying to provide good customer service.

I rented a car from another Avis location in Baltimore to head…read moreto greenville for a couple of days, in which the car I rented started overheating and the a/c stopped working. So I called the greenville location to swap out rentals and the young lady proceeded to tell me they didn't have cars available and to call roadside assistance (greenville is not a tourist attraction). After talking to roadside they call the location and just like magic they have cars available now and just need me to be there by 1p. I arrive to see a row of cars available almost every space allotted to Avis was taken up. When asked why I was told there were no cars available she says they may be reserved...keep in mind the close at 1pm and it was 12:30p and the turtle pace she was moving that 30 min rush was going to keep her all night. So she couldn't handle swapping the cars and stated "he" has to help you "he" being the manager. "He" ask "does it have a full tank" and "can you drive it to the gas station and bring it back full" because he was going to charge me for not bringing back the overheating no a/c having already prepaid gas car. On top of that I ask for a toll pass(which I've already noticed located in the cabinet with the car keys) he says they don't have any so I had to direct "he"/the manager where his toll passes were located. Did mention how rude they were??! So let's gather the alternative facts: no cars, no service, no toll passes, no manners, no leadership=NEVER COME TO THIS LOCATION!!!
