TLDR: These people are FANTASTIC at what they do, and trust them to get the work done…read more My family and I have been thinking of a kitchen renovation for several years but were hesitant due to the scale and potential cost of a project like this. Beyond Builders and their staff were communicative and understanding from start to finish! In our initial meetings with Josh and Tomoko, they carefully listened to our desired outcomes and focused on staying within a set budget we were comfortable with (cuz economy's tough y'know?). Once the contract was signed, 3D designs were promptly drafted which gave us several options to choose from, they guided us through obtaining required items for the material list, and once everything was ready a start date was set. They were very patient with us, we never felt rushed, and our desired outcomes were always prioritized. Junior and Ming were the leads on the renovation portion, and MAN do they work efficiently! They said it would take two weeks, and they finished in two weeks. One thing I appreciate about their crew was the communication on progress and collaborative questions. For example, before installing handles on the cabinets they would ask beforehand how we'd like them placed. They always made sure it was being made the way we wanted. At the end of the renovation, the kitchen felt like something out of a movie set. As you can tell in the attached pictures, the before pictures (green, walled) and after pictures (open, white countertop) is night and day. They were doing such a good job that I had to request a change order to install a new vanity in our bathroom to replace the old one haha. All in all, Beyond Builders was a pleasure to work with. Our family is so happy with the renovation and we already plan to hit them up for future projects (when we have the funds). Big shout out to Josh, Tomoko, Junior, Ming and their crew! Keenan Yoshida, the boss, was very easy to talk to and explained the entire process. His estimate was very reasonable, too. His crew was respectful of our home and made every effort to keep it as dust free and clean as possible during the renovation process. They were very professional in their demeanor. Fast forward six years, it was now time to do window replacement. I had several companies provide an estimate before thinking about asking if Keenan did that type of job. Keenan promptly came by with the window representative and explained the various window models and suggested which type of window for each area. Within a few days, he provided us with an estimate that was very reasonable. When the windows arrived, his crew began working on the install and was done in a few days. Once again, they covered everything with plastic to keep the home as clean as possible. Keenan was on-site daily, answering questions that popped up. He also responded to text messages promptly. He was very knowledgable and seemed to be a straight shooter (I wanted some storage over the toilet and he straight up told me that would be weird because it would block the bathroom window). After listening to what we were thinking, he came up with a plan and gave us an estimate. We didn't get any renderings (not sure if bathroom renovations get those?) but we knew he knew what he was doing, so it wasn't really an issue - Mom and I were trusting he and his team's professionalism and it worked! Did we have any idea of the cost of a bathroom renovation? No. Was it more than I imagined it to be? Honestly, yes. But after the job was done, did I think it was worth it? ABSOLUTELY YES. The job Kurihara Contracting did with our master bathroom was AWESOME. And I think with this company, you get what you pay for - The professionalism, consideration, final product...chef's kiss! Our bathroom looks so much larger and brighter! We just love it. We were also able to upgrade to a toilet we wanted (something really important to my mom ;D). They even go above what most will do!! 7 years ago they did a wonderful job refacing my 1950s kitchen cabinets with glossy white laminate (still love them!!). After constant use with 2 rough growing boys a few of hinges were a little off. I called them and they stand by their work even though honestly it's our fault for yanking the cabinets open and close. They repaired the hinges and left some for future replacements. Who does that anymore? Stand by their work and quality products! On a Saturday morning too! Furthermore I asked them to replace some shelving and they helped me reinstall the sliding baskets which I planned to do but so thankful they did it for me! Their level of quality, service, and friendliness is sadly hard to find these days. They lay down blankets and clean up every spec of debris (plus some, as they helped wiped down my cabinets while they were working on the hinges!!). They are worth more than their quotes price. Trust me. I trust them 100%. 7 years later and they still do not cut any corners and have very reasonable prices for their quality services. Highly recommended!!!

And yet another story of an amazing remodel job by Kai and the boys from AOK cabinets & stone. About the same time that Kai and the boys were remodeling our kitchen I was downstairs trying to figure out how I was going to fix that mess. Opening a moldy can of worms and feeling very overwhelmed with the situation I fell back on AOK cabinets & stone to fix the problem. The downstairs unit of our house had extensive water damage. We are extracting gallons of water daily with a dehumidifier and the whole place was very moldy as a consequence. All the old cabinetry reeked of mold, and the existing vinyl flooring was covering up the old original floor that was also moldy, and had termite damage. After Kai's inspection and discussion of our plans, Rocky, Sean and Min with a few others, were turned loose to demo the place out. They ripped off the old cabinetry and walls, and all the flooring revealing mold and mildew. They chipped away the old plaster that was bubbling from moisture seeping through the block wall and exposed the metal studs that were rusting out at the bases. After the kitchen and bathroom were completely gutted, our excellent Painter, Anthony Vargas, "Macky" from high-quality painting oil based primered the entire place and sealed all the block walls and concrete floor. After that was done, the boys went to work. They repaired all the metal stud and replaced all the electrical outlets and the drywall on the newly furred out walls. Re-hung all the cabinetry replaced all the floor and virtually fixed everything that was wrong and left behind by the previous owners. And in between replacing everything, Macky was there to repaint the entire inside. Our pictures should tell the story . But I will tell you how impressed and satisfied we are with the work that all the boys at AOK cabinetry & stone did on this remodeling job. Again, all very focused, professional, friendly, and hard-working guys they knocked out the whole job in a few weeks. We were amazed at how beautiful the place now looks and are so happy and feel so good about it all. We highly recommend Kai and AOK cabinetry & stone for all your remodeling needs. Again, Kai was a great person to work with with and has good communication and prompt timing on all aspects of the job. AOK renovated the majority of the interior of our home, including popcorn ceiling removal throughout, updated lighting, new flooring, full kitchen and bathroom renovations, and converting two living-room closets into a beautiful dry bar. Working with Kai and his team was genuinely easy. Kai communicates clearly, responds promptly, and is incredibly patient. I chose AOK over other companies because Kai was quick to respond from the very beginning, he's realistic about what can and cannot be done, and he never once felt pushy. Finding the right person was incredibly important to me, and Kai was that person. We didn't think we could accomplish everything on our wish list at once, especially while living in the home, but with Kai, it all became possible. He and his team completed the entire project within six weeks and were able to work around our daily routines with thoughtfulness and flexibility. The renovation team was always respectful, friendly, and pleasant to be around, and they made sure to clean up at the end of each day, which made a huge difference. Friends who have visited have commented on the beautiful work, and we never hesitate to refer them to Kai; he will treat you well. We still have a few minor projects we'd like to get done in the future, and without question, we would choose Kai again. I called and visited several counter top business on Oahu. Everyone was nice but we didn't really feel a warm customer reception, understandable due to the volume of customers I guess. I happen to google counter top business in Kapolei because we live in Kapolei and I was tired of driving into town to get the same reception. Google found AoK Cabinets and so I called. Kai one of the owners answered the phone and was immediately willing to answer all my questions. My wife and I drove over and met Kai. He was warm and eager to help where the other places fell a bit short. We spent some time discussing our project and after some back and forth we shook hands and off we went. We settled on the material manufacture, the color and the size. Kai came to the house to take exact measurements and went back to confirm the material, unfortunately he did not have enough to cover our project. I found what I wanted from another provider and he said that's fine but offerd to do the installation for us. Wow. The customer service and his team were exactly what we were looking for, friendly, punctual, and most importantly clean. We stepped into the showroom of Aok Cabinets & Stone and were kindly greeted by Kai, the business manager. The showroom is very attractive. We were impressed by the wide variety of countertops, cabinets, and much more. We were looking to replace our guest and master bathroom vanity. Kai came over to our house to take measurements and gave us a scheduled timeframe for the demolition of the old and installation of the new. Kai sent his project manager, Rocky and crew to do the demo and installation in both bathrooms which took a total of four days to complete. They were very courteous, efficient, and hardworking. We were pleased with the outcome of the new countertops and cabinets. They even installed new mirrors, lighting, and medicine cabinets for us. We were very pleased with the outcome. We had been looking to redo our kitchen for many years and once we had the chance, went to see Kai at AOK Cabinets at their Kapolei showroom. The process couldn't have been easier. After looking at the different styles and options we were able to choose our cabinets, kitchen sink, flooring, walk-in shower and doors, and two bathroom vanities. Kai later did an on-site review and was able to give us a plan that showed all the work to be done. AOK was able to give us everything we wanted and all within the budget we had allowed. Throughout construction, Kai and his crew were very easy to work with and very considerate toward us and our needs. He was responsive about any issues, communicated delays, and worked with us to get a quote that matched our expectations and needs. Their showroom maybe hard to find but their craftmanship and attention to to detail will make your project areas a show place after they are done. We had our kitchen formica shelves, cabinet top, and our two bathroom cabinet tops replaced with marble . We bought the new fixtures that we wanted for each location and they installed them. In three days they demoed, cut new pieces, replaced old removed pieces, cleaned up each evening returning a functional home to us each night. We were looking for someone to renovate our ruined kitchen (our tenants did not take care of it..) A lot of people made us wait and wait for estimates and dates they could start but not Aok! They gave us an estimate in a matter of hours, started a couple weeks later, got the job done in a week, and they were so neat and tidy, I don't think I ever saw one spec of rubbish or dust during the whole process! I have attached photos of each project with more details below. We are and have been extremely satisfied with the quality of the cabinets and work. The cabinets are thick pieces of wood and have lasted for over 6 plus years now. FYI, their showroom is filled with options and ideas for various types of projects. As you will read from my review l, we have used OCG Building Supply for so many various types of projects. So many options to choose from and the staff is so FRIENDLY and HELPFUL. Project 1: We did a full kitchen remodel on our home. The process with OCG was a breeze. OCG helped us bring our vision to life through a very detailed planning process. My wife and I really loved our customizable our cabinets and counters could be. OCG completed a fully kitchen demo, complete kitchen install to include counters and tile work. Each day the workers cleaned up and made sure we were updated with the next days plans. When we ended up selling this home, not only did the kitchen become to focus during the open houses, but this OCG kitchen added so much more value to our home. Project 2: This project included brand new flooring for our whole home. All we can say is WOW. Once again the quality and work exceeded our expectations. Our flooring is rugged and comfortable. We have four dogs and we have had ZERO issues with scratching, chipping, shifting, fading, etc. everyone we have people over, they always comment about our flooring. OCG even added wood under the steps and painted them white to make them even pop more. Love it! Project 3: This was one of our biggest projects with OCG. Not only did we convert a studio area but we also had OCG cut a hole in a bedroom wall and hang a barn door to add a bedroom. OCG sealed up our existing bedroom door and even built a closet system inside the bedroom. You could see in the before and after in the side-by-side photo. Everything from the flooring, wall take down, wall building, barn door, closet, and full kitchen with waterfall counter is AMAZING! OCG has helped our Ohana move into a BEAUTIFUL 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, with a full kitchen. We had options for cabinet color and decided to go with a very nice grey color. Project 4: This is our most recent project. We added some upper cabinets to our laundry room. Andre was our designer and he really focused on how we can maximize storage space while matching our existing kitchen cabinets. Jerry showed up prior to his worker Jianyi Lin to do a walk-through. Once the team arrived, Jerry was assisting his worker to install the cabinets and help clean up. Jianyi was super professional, clean, and respectful. Ask for Jianyi for your next project! Way to lead by example Jerry! Final Thoughts: Owner of OCG is Jerry. From project 1 to project 4, Jerry has driven to each project to check on his team, answer any questions I may have had, and also reassured that each project will be and was completed with quality and care. During project 1, Jerry gave me his cell phone number and told me to reach out at any time. Jerry would reach out with updates and any thoughts he may have had for the project. Honestly, we have never got that sort of help or care from any other company. OCG has gone above and beyond any and all expectations. There will be a project 5, 6, 7 in the future. They tried to accommodate my travel which was also good. What fell apart is they did not provide many things I requested and installed a new garbage disposable that messed up my AC and dishwasher. Instead of listening to me and fixing the garbage disposal, they told me I needed a new dishwasher. They do not pay attention to details. The pull out for the garbage was never done and later installed cheap thing to pull out. No spice rack as promised and the floor patch was done where it did not go with the flow of the floors. They installed tiles without communicating they were the wrong colors. They moved our telecom wires when I specially asked them not to.. lots of stuff., It felt like they didn't care about what I wanted and that I should be grateful for what they did. It was not a good experience. They stopped returning my texts and basically walked away from the job. Do not pay them in full. If you use them, you need to have someone home at all time because there is no project manager and very bad communication efforts. The review rating is because they walked away and failed to fix the things as promised.

Actually one of them told me that he wanted to kick Chris out because this counter fabricator's bad attitude escalated. They saw I am disabled. I have heart condition. As I recall, you were NOT present at my home when this event happened. A true gentleman/lady would consider Chris's behavior totally uncalled for. Regarding the repeated trial to get me sign the document so that I accept seamed quartz countertop in spite of the fact that I requested to have seamless countertop, I was with The Home Depot designer when she created the order. I confirmed that she wrote up the order correctly and printed. She collected the appropriate fee from me as well. When Taryn sent me that consent form to accept seamed counter, I consulted with the Home Depot designer. She advised me not to sign the document. I told Taryn that I won't sign the document. She accepted my answer. Since we are on the same page, I thought this issue was over. I have records of our conversations and correspondences. I have testimony as well. After this event, I received more documents from her in my e-mail. It included the same form. I didn't sign it. Another e-mail came from Taryn for the 3rd time. It included the same document that I denied to sign. If these actions were coming from repeated mistake, your subordinate Taryn's professional skill is not up to the par. You should re-train her instead of being defensive. It is inappropriate and unprofessional. You insisted the work environment was the not perfect condition. If you didn't like it, why didn't you turn down to the Home Depot from the first place? You can tell them your measurement technician couldn't work with the carpenter guided marks; therefore, you turn down. Perhaps he was sleepy since he came more than 20 minutes later than the appointment time. He canceled an appointment on me in the past . I have pictures and documentations, and journals of your company's work. It will be your documents vs. my documents. Please don't act like I signed documents as if I accepted every term you dictated. You didn't mention about the sloppy space under the bar counter, imperfect sink installation, destruction of my personal properties, dry wall damages., etc. My dishwasher was in good shape before Elson took the hardware out form it. From the first site visit to the final walkthrough, everything was seamless. William managed this project very well and guided us through this process with ease. At any point if we had questions he was quick to respond. The showroom they have is great and the experience of setting your preferences on design and materials is quite enjoyable. The only hiccup we encountered is that the supplier of the original tile that had been selected did not come in the size we needed and so it wouldn't have meshed well with the current tile in the living room. William helped us find a suitable alternative and we were able to pivot and are very pleased with the outcome. There were a couple of adjustments during the project but again related to the tile, we changed the direction of the placement which allows for us to replace the remaining tile in the house in the future if we decided to do so. William and team thinking ahead with our needs in mind really provided a sense of care. To top it all off, we wanted this build done ASAP and the team was able to complete the remodel in 8 days compared to their estimate of 10 - 14. We are extremely pleased with the work and so glad we went with a business right here in Kaneohe. Thank you William, Wen, and team! I contacted a few companies and received various quotes, some of which required me to travel to various showrooms to select materials which as a first time home renovator, seemed overwhelming. However, when I was contacted by William, he informed me he had previously done renovations in my building and was very familiar with how the management office worked, water shut off, elevator reservations, etc. MY Construction's showroom had all materials/samples in one place where I could put everything together and get a visual idea; he also had tons of photos of examples on his phone to show me. Can't say enough amazing things about William and his crew, not only did he keep me updated daily, but he also handled so many of the nuance tasks on his own, making sure I wasn't distracted at work or taking on any unnecessary stress during the project. (He even dealt with a cranky tenant who had been accidentally double booked by management for the elevator as well as installing all of the new appliances!) The communication couldn't have been better. On to the finished reno; it's truly everything I wanted and more! I am currently renting the apartment to a friend and he's had no issues with any leaks, appliance function, and he's also commented how stunning the renovation turned out!
