- Looks nice at first, but costly long-term issues My mom remodeled her home in 2013 and purchased cabinets and countertops from Golden Cabinets & Stone for both the upstairs and downstairs kitchens. The staff were nice to work with, and everything looked great initially. However, issues started early.We began noticing white droppings and small circular debris falling from the cabinets. We raised concerns about possible termites but were told it wasn't an issue. We even tented the house, yet the problem continued. Fast forward to 2026...We are now forced to replace all the cabinets due to termite damage. This has turned into a very costly and frustrating situation, especially considering the original investment and ongoing repair costs. Additional challenge:We rent out our downstairs unit, and tenants are not always able to recognize or report these types of issues until after they vacate, which delayed identifying the full extent of the damage. Bottom line:While the cabinets looked nice at first, there were serious issues with quality and longevity. Recommendation:I would not purchase from here. Staff here are knowledgeable and helpful, however, they need some way of setting up a check in list because we first walked in and all sales reps were busy. Our white laminate particle board cabinet door broke off from the hinges and my wife tried to get a new door from them and they quoted her $300-400 for a 10"x24" door. We called on Golden Cabinets after recommendations from a realtor-friend and an architect. We even heard of them from one of my co-workers! Their good work gets around. Basically, we had a 1969 designed kitchen. The kitchen cabinets / counters were at least 12 years old from previous owner. After some water damage, it had to be replaced. We worked with Helen Z., one of their sales and design consultants, and she was top-notch and very professional. She was patient and was responsive to our questions and concerns. We were worried at first because most of the contractors only spoke Chinese (Mandarin) but Helen was our liaison and made sure they knew what to do. She was a text or phone call away. These guys speak with their hands and their hustle ! And they are efficient! After a few consults with Helen, we scheduled the work. The cabinets and counters had been demo'd by another company (the mold people), but once Golden Cabinets stepped foot in our home, they went to town! And they were always on time or early. My only critique would be the guys need to be mindful of where they put their tools (so not to scratch stovetop or drier), but overall, minor. Their cost was affordable, and the work was high-quality. They were able to create a beautiful new island out of our 1969 pantry, and put in dimmer lights at our request. When we asked for some detail work, they responded. And the backsplash is a hit with every one who's seen their work! Nicely done! The cabinets and counters are awesome. Creates the experience & feel we want. Seriously, if you want the best, check out Golden Cabinets. They live up to their reviews and know what they're doing. TIP: Get the right consultant to work with - Helen Z. helped us find a solution or ways to get most of what we wanted done. GC finished all the work in 9 working days. Wow! We thought it would bleed into Thanksgiving, but they were 2-3 days earlier than expected. Highly recommend. Make sure you have a clear vision. When we, as customers, try to pick up or return cabinets, and we politely inform the warehouse staff of our intentions, they ignore us as if we are invisible. This behavior is very disrespectful. We have visited many other local warehouses, and no other staff behaves like those at Golden Cabinet. The staff here acts as if they are the customers, ignoring us when we speak to them and simply saying they don't know and not to ask them. The person on the right seems to have been working at Golden for a long time and behaves as if he is in charge, without considering customer feelings. I sincerely hope Golden Cabinet can address the attitude of their warehouse staff. I had three different construction contractors recommend this place to me as far as the affordable prices. Ended up getting my quartz countertops from there as well as my flooring. The flooring was half the price of what you would find at Home Depot and it was still vinyl plank. The only problem is that the fitment is not that great this is not very easy to put together.
