Keith had come to our home to inspect damage to our garage for repair over 2 weeks ago. He was prompt in coming out to look at the issue, which we appreciated. However since that visit, the experience has been disappointing. Despite multiple follow up messages and calls, we have not received the promised quote or ANY response at all. While I understand contractors may be busy, a simple update or message stating they couldn't take the job would be preferred over being ghosted. I was hoping to work with a licensed professional, but the lack of basic communication makes it difficult to recommend their services. They completely renovated my mother's condo master bathroom including tub to shower conversion.   Keith helped us with choosing cabinets, tiles, etc..  The bathroom looks great!  Photos year 2021 attached. Can't say enough good things about them, they are truly customer oriented and do what is right, not what is easier or cheaper, and always to your satisfaction. All of their staff were super hard working, honest very professional and respectful. They totally redid our kitchen including cabinets, counters, window and floors they also built a new pantry/closet with shelves. They also removed all of my yucky popcorn ceilings, painted and patched all walls and replaced all flooring in my living room, dining and family rooms. Everything was done... After 30 years, it was time to remodel our 2 bath areas. We wanted to convert one area to a walk in shower and replace the other with a new tub. Called Hawaii Home Remodel for an estimate. Keith Tse was very easy to work with and gave us a reasonable price. Work on the shower started right away. One day to demo the old bathtub area and configure pipes after which they made sure to clean the area of any debris. Had to wait a week because I ordered a shower pan rather than a tile floor. As soon as the pan was ready, HHR installed, and put up the cement board and waterproofed the next day. They even did a great job building the niche. The tiles were next followed by grouting and installation of doors. Keith and crew were sure to ask me about my preferences as the work progressed and were very accomodating. Cleaned up everyday and worked thru the Holidays to finish. As soon as shower was completed, work started on the other bath. Finish work was excellent. We used this business before about two years ago. They renovated our two upstairs bathrooms and we were totally pleased with the results. We had updated our main bath then enlarged our master bath. We doubled its size converted the tub to a walk-in shower with a bench so we could wash our dogs in the shower with a special hand held shower at a lower level near the bench. My wife wanted aseperate makeup vanity with a special lit mirror like we saw in New York found it locally so Keith installed it. Finally a barnyard door to save space. We now decided to do everything else in August so we called Keith and he was able to schedule and complete it before thanksgiving. We upgraded our downstairs bath and laundry room enlarged our kitchen changed the lights throughout the house took down the popcorn ceiling and install crown molding and painted the whole interior and finally changed the doors and bedroom closet doors. We did the flooring change to wood downstairs and carpeting upstairs through a flooring company due to warranties. Keith had his brother Jeff I charge of our project. They were very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout. We were totally satisfied with the final results. We would recommend anyone who are thinking of renovation to give Keith a call. If we ever need to do any renovations I would use Keith again. Everyone that has seen it are totally impressed. My wife is totally satisfied with her kitchen her farmhouse sink the porcelain type had to be ordered but it makes the kitchen. set an appointment for a consultant with Keith Tse, confirmed through email. I, as the potential customer followed up with an email the night before to confirm our appointment but received no reply. The day of the appointment (Feb 4th at 3pm), he was a no show. I did not receive a call so I sent a text at 3:19pm. Got a reply that he was running late. I cancelled the consultation because it would have run past the hour allotted that time that they are require which was to be at 3pm. There was no call to tell me that he's running late. At least a courtesy call would have been nice. I had a 9am consultation that morning and that contractor text me the night before and text me the day of that he was on his way and was there 10 minutes before the schedule time. I understand that everyone is busy but just a courtesy call would have made this situation better. read more

After 9 years in our townhouse, we finally decided to update our kitchen/half bath-laundry area. We attended the BIA convention first to get ideas and meet possible contractors. From that event last August, we called a few to get some quote. Unfortunately, the first two contractors were not that helpful at all. Bad PR in short. So i looked through Yelp and read the reviews of clients/customers of contractors. From what I read in the reviews of people here for Hawaii Home Remodel, I felt good that I somehow sent an email to give it a try. Keith was very quick in acknowledging my request to meet and discuss our plans. From then on, our kitchen project went well. The pricing were reasonable and the outcome was great. We are now enjoying our new travertine floor tiles - it's actually me that is loving it that much as it is now very easy to clean unlike the old tiles. We also love the new cabinets and under-cabinet lightings. The kitchen looks way brighter due to the LED lights we had installed. The indoor/outdoor doors that we picked looked very nice after installation as well. Thank you to Xiao and his co-workers who worked in our kitchen. You guys did a great job. I just completed my third kitchen and bath remodel (all in different homes) and hands down Hawaii Home Remodel is the best contractor I've worked with. Keith is good with communication (returns phone calls and emails) and was accommodating to our changes when we opened the wall to some surprises. They are licensed and insured contractors--and came up with the proper paperwork form my HOA very quickly and easily. His initial pricing was very competitive and the add-ons we had during the work were very fairly priced. His crew was on-time and at full size throughout the remodel. We hired Keith and his team for a full apartment renovation. The place was really run down and so there was a lot of work to be done: floors, walls, and ceilings throughout; all outlets and light fixtures; new ceiling fans and window a/c; entire kitchen (cabinets, countertop, all appliances); bathroom vanity and shower; some closet conversion, replace the water heater, and repair/replacement for windows and screens. When we initially contacted another contractor and did a walk-through and estimation, there was a lot of "we won't do this", "we won't do that" -- there were numerous items which required fixing which the contractor said they would not do. This was surprising to me, as this is the job of the contractor -- to manage a team to do the work that needs to be done. I don't have the time to deal with and manage a handful of contractors to get the work done, as I have a full-time job of my own. By contrast, Keith and his team have a "can-do" attitude. For everything I asked them to do, they said "yes we can do that", "no problem". This was a refreshing change from the previous contractor. And the cost was very reasonable, as the total price he quoted me came in around the same as the previous contractor, but included a lot more. I mostly communicated with Keith by email as that's most convenient for my circumstances. Keith always responded promptly, and raised concerns to me promptly. In some cases, I wished for a little more detail or he didn't fully answer my questions, so there is some room for improvement there. But I was always pleased with his responsiveness. Keith and his team worked quickly, and despite us having to expand the scope of work due to some unforeseen circumstances, they were still able to complete the job within the timeframe they estimated. I could see that getting the job done on time was important to them. Towards the end of the project, we did a walk-through and raised several concerns. Keith and his team were prompt in remedying those concerns to our satisfaction. When the job was completed, Keith's team cleaned up after themselves and left the work site looking like a new apartment. I hope to use Hawaii Home Remodel for future contracting work.
