I really wanted to give this campground 5 stars but the noise from the interstate ... With that said I LOVE THIS PLACE! There is plenty of room for kids to play, lots of shade trees, a playground for the kids along with a pool. They have the BEST dog park that I have seen up to this point! I didn't use the restrooms, showers or laundry room so I can't comment on that. The only thing suggestion I have is that the dog park grass, while very green and beautiful, was a bit long making it hard to find my little girls' poops hard to find! read more

We went on a 3 week trip in our motorhome to National Parks on a route to a Grandson's Wedding. Passing thru St. Joseph Mo. We stayed at AOK Campground and RV Park. It was the worst experience of any RV Park in 25 years. Frankly, we were forewarned when AOK's address did not come up on our vehicle or IPhone GPS. With multiple calls to the RV Park Office and poor directions to get to the Park we finally found the rutted gravel road that served as the RV Park address. An internet connection is essential to us to catch up on work and family at the end of the day. The RV Park advertises high speed internet. After we arrived and set up we couldn't get the internet connection to work so I called the office as directed in the RV Park rules if a problem occurred. The man said it was the weather which seemed odd since it was sunny and clear outside. He said he would reset the internet connection. One-half hour later still no internet so I called the office a second time. This time an older lady answered who was rude and disrespectful. She told me if I was going to travel I should buy a Star Link if we wanted internet. I told her she should not advertise high speed internet if she didn't have it or tell us it was not working then we would have not stayed there. Within a few minutes I saw a lady driving over to us in her golf car like she was going to a fire. She pounded on our door, demanding that we leave, and claimed we were Trespassing. Of course we weren't. We paid cash for the night with our receipt to prove it. We told her we would leave in the morning. Next she appeared with 2 then 3 more local Sheriffs. She was claiming we were ''disrespectful''. The deputies claimed a RV Park Owner could make you leave for any reason. This is not true, they need just cause. After an hour of argument, the deputies said they could arrest us at her demand, so we left It was getting late and fortunately there was another RV Park down the highway. We called to ask if they had a space for us for the night. Guess What!!? The RV Park Woman had already called the other RV Owner to tell him she was throwing us out. And not to give us a space. He told us he was full but come over and he would have his helper make room for us. As it turned out his Park was much less expensive. The weather 1mile away must have been much improved as there was internet service. The owners of AOK apparently have no idea of how to treat their customers with respect, show hospitality or resolve issues. Their response to a simple request to help with an internet connection was to demand we leave and call the Sheriff! Before writing this review, I read other reviews on line. Many describe the woman owner and her rude and disrespectful behavior and poor park conditions including complaints about poor wifi. Although she may not be rude to everyone, if you are desperate and must stay there, make sure you don't ask for any help!! read more

The woman who checked us in was rude. Thee beds in the wagon are beyond hard. The interstate can be seen from the campsite and the noise from the vehicles makes it impossible to even have a conversation. Sleep is impossible read more

She doesn't let me walk my dog in my yard then she doesn't take care of her dog park. There's no dog bags and sticks everywhere so my dog can't even run. Along with cigarette butts that I had to take my dog to the vet for and get medicine hoping they will pass it. It's really toxic for a dog to have in them. I picked up what I could of the cigarette butts so my dog didn't ingest more. But definitely not happy after she screamed at me about my dogs. read more

the owners of the campground are a family (husband and wife) the wife is rude and inconsiderate. i had a leak in my camper and she told me that was unacceptable and i had to leave by the morning. not only did i fix the leak the minute she told me but i pleaded with the husband because there is no other open parks but i see she runs things around here. DO NOT STAY HERE the lady owner has zero people skills and by the other reviews this is not the first time she has done this. will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. cannot stress enough. do not. give these ungrateful people your money. spoke with some people here and they said she is always like that. you can't walk your dog on your yard but she can walk her dogs anywhere she wants too. the bathrooms are DISGUSTING. the road to get to the campground is a gravel road with more potholes than you can imagine. stayed here for 2 days out of my 6 month stay. this place needs to be put out of business read more

We have enjoyed this campground so much!! It's clean the owners are friendly and with the cost of fuel it's close to home but still gives you a great camping experience. We have several trips booked through fall of this year!! read more

So close to the highway the noice never stopped. The Lakes they advertise are mosquito ponds. Owners rude and not accommodating

This is an awesome relaxing campground! There are trees, nice grass, a small lake and the owners, Sandy and Dale, are super friendly and helpful. Laundry facility was very clean. There is a pool but I didn't get in. It looked lovely though. You can hear the highway but the atmosphere makes up for that. We were just passing through and opted to stay an extra day. If you are coming through this area please stop here. You'll love it. read more

Stayed here overnight on our way West. Easy access from the Interstate. Great spot with very nice and well-maintained grounds and facilities. Super-clean pool, restrooms and showers. There is some noise from the Interstate, but you can't see the highway and as another review said, the grounds make up for that. The hosts are new owners here and they are lovely people who clearly take great pride in providing their guests a great experience. Only reason for four instead of five stars is the Interstate noise. For starters, the campground overall is pretty nice. Two fishing lakes, laundry, playground, pool. Water pressure is very high,The rates were fair priced. We stayed for about a week and on the day we checked out we were rushed out of our spot because someone else arrived early and they had assigned them our spot. The owners stood there the whole time we were packing up. Did not like the feeling of being rushed and having them stand over my shoulder the whole time. read more

The WIFI is inadequate, the staff is uncooperative and unpleasant to the point of rudeness. The parking pads are dirt, very tight and nothing close to level. It's uphill to the bathrooms and showers no matter where you are camped. Missouri is a beautiful state, this place is a blemish. read more

Campground is nice and clean. A little noisy from the interstate but I can deal with that. The showers are up the hill and you either have to walk up the gravel drive and around by the house/pool or up the hill through the grass. They really need to add a sidewalk (gravel would be fine) to get to the showers and laundry; especially for when it's raining so you aren't walking on wet slippery grass. The showers have lots of hot water and good pressure/shower heads however it was a tad bit cold in the room itself. I think adding clear shower curtains would help with that. Overall a Park I would return to if traveling through the area. WiFi is ok. read more

This campground was OK. The road leading to the campground was a bumpy gravel road. The campground has a pretty little pond, and that was nice to look at. There were a couple of paddle boats for rent. The grounds appeared well maintained, but because our spot was next to the pond there was goose poop all over the place. The spots are not spacious at all. We were crammed in like sardines. But it was quiet and the staff was friendly. The pool is really small, if it weren't for the thunderstorm we would have gone swimming for a little while. We didn't go inside the clubhouse but it looked nice on the outside. I didn't see if there were any "live ins" there, but again with the storm we couldn't do a lot of exploring. I saw a volleyball court and a playground for kids. It was good for a quick overnight stay on our way back to WA state, but I wouldn't spend multiple nights there. read more

We stopped in for the night while driving across the country, and this was by far the nicest stop so far. The freeway is close by so there is some noise. The noise didn't bother us, and it being close made it a convenient overnight stop. The management was extremely nice, and took the time to explain their geese to us. Our three kids loved hanging out with Ricky and Lucy the geese. The hookup spots are spacious, and had plenty of room for our kids and dog to play. read more

Decent campsite for RVS, fifth wheels, and tents. Lake was covered with a weed but still very pretty. You were allowed to fish and rent a canoe. Owners are super friendly. Full hookups and field for dogs. read more

This is such a wonderful campground. Nestled in a little valley through witch a creek flows and two ponds shimmer, you could not ask for a better camping place. I have stayed here many times and always enjoy myself. read more

Clean campground and friendly owners. Pretty lake and right off I-29. 1/2 mile of narrow gravel county road to get to the property... Crammed in like sardines with only a "too close" view of the camper next to you. The sites are about the width of the parking lines at a truck stop. You literally have to park up against your neighbor on one side so you can get out of your camper on the other. Not enough room to put your awning out... Full hookups were nice and the price not horrible. Not all sites have a fire ring, probably because there isn't the room. Picnic tables tend to be by the road in between sites in line with the electric, water, and sewer hookups because that's the only place they will fit. Will probably pass on this campsite next time. read more

Women's restroom/shower is closed, so their policy is for everyone to use the men's shower/restroom, and lock the door when you are in there. Not only did this cause patrons to be waiting regularly to be able to use the facility, but on one occasion when we were there, a man did not lock the door and someone else opened it to see him standing in front of the sinks naked. In addition, there was no maintained path to the restrooms, and the same trash that was lying next to the sink one morning was still there 24 hrs later. read more
