My pool repair guy connected me with this place and our experience horrible. I believe the owner Tony is unreliable as soon as he gets paid and stops responding before the problem is solved. His crew came and did there thing, found a leak which I had repaired, however we still had water loss. He sent a crew out again who found another leak which again was quickly repaired but we also knew that wasn't the problem because the water was going below that leak. After trying to explain to this guy that wasn't the only problem he told my pool guy, sorry I guess I dropped the ball on this one, clearly taking responsibility, but refusing come back. He should have kept looking for leaks instead of stopping after finding small ones. Mind you all these leaks were occurring in my jacuzzi, so it's not like he was looking all over the surface of a huge pool, it was all in a 7x7 area. I wish I had looked at these reviews before I hired them. My experience mirrors some of the previous reviews. My pool service recommended them. API Leak came out but did not complete the job so the crew came out again and said they found the leak. I paid them in full and said they could repair it, so I paid them an additional amount. It failed, so the crew came out again but my pool still loses about an inch of water/day. When I called them again-multiple times, they responded once but cancelled and now they DO NOT RESPOND AT ALL. What a complete waste. I will continue with someone else. read more

After almost 30 years in Santa Clarita, we moved to Alabama for a once in a lifetime job. We love Santa Clarita and we love our house. So, we decided to let our house become someone else's home until we return. That means we have to fix things when they break and we cannot tell renters to wait. We have had the worst luck with folks lately. They are too busy to take the work (imagine!), make appointments they do not keep, make promises they do not keep. ...and then there is Joe. I called and they actually showed up! They located and fixed our pool leak and our tenant is very happy. He did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it, and for a fair price. So, why 4 stars and not 5? The water diverter handle broke during their diagnostics and the technician did not tell Joe or the tenant. Had I not said anything, I wonder if the technician would have said something. They did replace the diverter, but that is now leaking. I have full confidence that they will be back to fix the leak. Joe seems just that honorable. I highly highly recommend him. read more

They are completely incompetent!! They came out and spend about 3 hours looking for the leak, but they couldn't find any leak. We still had to pay $350 for it. They told me to fix the tiny crack ( we had this crack for about 10 years). They told me 2 options, one with complete redo of the concrete for $3000 and the other with just patch for $450. I didn't think the leak was coming from that tiny crack as the pool water was coming down quickly until just under the filter level. But we went with just to patch the crack for $450 trusting them. It turned out that it still didn't fix and water was leaking fast! We spent total of $800 for NOTHING. I'm so glad that we didn't go for the $3000 job!! I called the other company and they came out and found the problem with 2 min. of time! It turned out that the bottom of the pool filter tank was leaking and it all needed was the little parts to replace. I couldn't believe it. AP1 Leak Detection couldn't find very simple leak from the filter tank. So, we call them back to ask for a full refund. They said NO. We ask them to refund at least $450 for the unnecessary job they performed. They said NO. We told them that we will file small claim court. They said "Go ahead, you could never win the case because we did perform the job. We've done it before" I couldn't believe what I heard! If they've done it before, there are other people out there experienced same thing! How could this company allow to operate?? Yes, they were right we lost the case. They PERFORMED the job, so they get paid. But ultimately they will be the one who will lose and pay the price eventually. read more

I contacted Joe through a referral by my pool maintainer. I've been under the impression that my pool has been losing water for a few months now. When I finally got around to addressing the potential problem - I contacted Joe. He asked me a number of questions on the phone and provided me with a very competitive pricing model which of course depended on the severity of the leak. He showed up on time and suggested I first conduct a very simple water loss evaluation using a 5 gallon bucket over a 24 hour period to validate if a leak even existed OR if evaporation was the culprit. His exact words were - 'don't spend the money if you don't need to'. Sure enough - there was no leak in my pool but the water loss was due to evaporation attributed to the dark colored base and spa I had. I've worked with dozens of contractors (pool guys, plumbers, GCs, gardeners, electricians, etc.) over the years and have yet to meet any contractor that has the professionalism, honesty, and the 'don't spend the money if you don't need to' philosophy. I'd give this guy 6 stars and will promote him any chance I can get to friends and family seeking someone to address all types of leaks in the home, sewer, or pool. Unreliable, untrustworthy. I wouldnt use them, but then again, they never came when they said they would. I called them because I had a leak in my above ground pool. Joe said they could locate the leak at $300.00. I thought that was a little high, but, I needed someone to help me out. We scheduled an appointment day for them to come out and Joe was to call the day before to confirm and let me know the time. No call. When I called, no return call. The day of the appointment, they called and left me a message stating they were on their way to my house and left me and my husband waiting for over two hours. No show. We have used this company for weekly pool cleaning in Santa Clarita ($85/month for weekly service). It was common for them to miss at least one cleaning monthly. We would call to remind them of the missed service monthly. The quality of work rendered varied depending on who was sent. Not surprisingly, they bill on-time via email even though they have failed to meet their agreed upon frequency of time. Response back to voicemail has been slow. I am sorry that it took us so long to fire them, but better late than never. I would NOT recommend dealing with this company. Unprofessional, no communication, variable work quality. AP1 was referred to us by our pool service, and they came out right away and pinpointed where the leaks in our pool were located .... GREAT START ! impressed by AP1, we asked for proposals to redo the whole pool .... Joe Aguilar(owner) spent more time than the other companies combined, in order to present us with -3- different proposals to choose from during this whole process it was clear to my family that we should have a total overhaul of the pool, spa, and waterfall; starting with repair of the main leaks; replacement of skimmer that was filled with tree roots; tearing out the old plaster and part of the gunnite below, new rebar support where needed,ending up with new plaster and shining tiles ... the pool, spa, and waterfall all look like new .... the way it did 25+ years ago the entire process was documented with photographs that were emailed to us when each stage was started and finished .... AP1 was able to save all of the tile work; put in new pool lights that actually glow at night; replaced the timer for the lights; and replaced some of the joints between the pool equipment and the pool, leaving the pool equipment updated and working at 100% Joe's crew were polite and spoke English which was a real help, AND Joe came to check on his crew and the progress daily the end result ? ....
