Its not a hotel, its a motel that's perfect. Safe, small, watched over, taken care of, clean and refreshing. Apache junction motel is the place to stay in Apache junction. Hotels are great but this place is, what is is. The owner walked me to see the room, you see you like you pay, you don't like, here's your money back if you don't like what you see. We stayed one day longer than expected and hated to leave then but vacations do come to a close. This place is perfect in everyway if you are into motor lodge stays. Its fun, its the best. The owner clarified his name for me, he wears a mask but does not require you to. I ask his name again and he said AD, American Diamond, and truly he is a jewel to meet and to visit with. His ultimate goal is your happiness and satisfaction. Kinda a hole in the wall in the ghetto on Apache Trail. Thing is.... the owner was very nice and the place was old but clean. Very angry man on the phone when I tried to call and book a room for me and my service dog. Maybe he's used to people who don't have legitimate service dogs trying that as an excuse, but I actually do. He told me to call the police and not waste his time. This classic one-story motel is clean and well-maintained by the older couple who have owned it for many years. They take pride in providing a comfortable room at a reasonable price, and are always around to make sure that your stay goes well. The room includes a good WIFI connection, microwave, nice fridge with freezer, cable TV, AC, nice carpeting that appears fairly new, plus you get your own parking spot in front of your room. Clean and safe. You can tell someone cares about the property. They had dogs patrolling the back windows , the new blacktop parking lot was nicely lite. I slept safe and secure. The only down side was the $100 a night price tag.In the location it's in I would have valued it at $50-$60 read more

We found this little motel on this site as we were traveling through. The mixed reviews made us leery but we decided to go for it anyway. The owners were delightful, they did everything they could to make us comfortable. They are VERY adamant that rooms are non-smoking but the first room he showed us did have a strong odor of past smoking,however, upon request he graciously showed us another room that was much better. The coffee makers are available on request, showers are late model but very clean and functional with loads of pressure and as much hot water as you need. As we were checking out the whole staff was involved in cleaning, windows being washed, window screens being replaced and washed. All staff smiling and wishing us fun on our journey. We opted to go on a hike not far from the hotel and since it was so late When we got done we opted to return since it was clean and comfortable. We asked for the same room since we knew it and the owners explained that all the carpets had been done that day so it would be damp. We opted for it anyway and found it to be true. Clearly they are making efforts. So if you want to pay more for fancy go for it but if you want clean and functional for a Fair price this is the place to go! read more

Stayed here for two weeks , it is older but the owners work it themselves, very clean, everything works , nice hot water . Chairs outside the rooms so u can sit outside and read or visit with the neighbors, they even have lawn chairs , if u want to sit in sun. Very accommodating . Any thing u need , I think they'd try to get for u . Sometimes they are hard to understand , so if u have a problem with that . Not the place for u . Was extremely curious to stay here after reading all of the colorful reviews. Was out in AJ meeting my boyfriend's parents for the first time and this place is really close. Was hoping we'd get yelled at or kicked out or all of our stuff gone through or something. No wild stories to tell. We had a pretty nice stay. The owner had some funny banter with my boyfriend over the phone and reserving the room was a breeze. We got in really late and they let us have our key and do the official check-in credit card stuff the next morning so we could get some rest. The bed was comfy and the room was super clean. We were given one small set of towels and I have very long hair and he's a big guy so we needed more towels. Had to exchange the set we used because of an ordinance and were given an extra set when we asked. Helps them keep up on the laundry so it's understandable. The next night my BF accidentally hurt himself. His hand and knee were cut up pretty bad. While he was in the shower I went to the office to see if they had any bandaids. The owner and his wife gave us a couple small ones and a large bandaide to be sure the wound was taken care of. They definitely went above and beyond and that's something that will stick with me. I hadn't been here but 5 min before an Indian man, who I'd assume to be the owner came up to me yelling as I was putting my things in the room "NO BIKES IN THE ROOM! I'LL KICK YOU OUT! NO BIKES IN THE ROOM!" I said "I'm sorry, but it's just resting there--" He interrupted. "Get that bike out of there! I'll kick you out! Also you are not to throw things! Please carry your luggage all the way into your room. What if you'd have hit the TV?!? You could've broken it, or the stand on which it sits! I'll have you out if I see you throw anything else. There is no need." Before I even knew he was watching me, he'd seen me GENTLY toss a smallish soft-shell bag, filled with only clothes, from the doorway of the room into the room. I'd like to emphasize that was a gentle, controlled underhand toss. Nothing crazy or rambunctious. At this point I still had my hands full with what I was retrieving from the car, still standing in the same spot where I was when he first approached me. Maybe 20 seconds had gone by since he asked me not to put my bike in the room. "Why is that bike still in the room?" I ignored the comment, went to unload and retrieve the bike and heard him shout quite loudly "THIS IS AMERICAAAA!" as he walked back to the office. No joke. Also the towels were quite fragrant with the scent of fabric softener, so if you're allergic... Update: Now that I've cooled off, I think I'll bump the review from one star to 2. The service was completely shitty, but the rooms were impeccably clean. The sink, shower and toilet all smelled lightly of bleach, not enough be over powering, but enough so that you knew it was sterile (I know, bleach isn't environmentally correct, but I'll sacrifice that for being able to take a shit with no worries...and it is a hotel, all.). After tax the room was $54 and change. So to sum up, CLEAN, pretty inexpensive, shitty staff. It could be worse. read more

This little motel is absolutely awesome, first of all, it's like a walk down memory lane, right through your past! The quaint little rooms are highly functional, and we loved how the chairs outside encouraged the visitors to engage socially with each other! The room was spotless, and the shower had awesome water pressure. BEWARE!! It's hard to give this even one star!! If u r a non smoker, don't stay here! Room 5 reeked of smoke! Owner said it just got new carpet, maybe so, but it reeked! Outdated, worn furniture! Shower beware ( no bathtub), a constant water temperature fluctuation, scalding to cold! Owner advertises AAA , BUT doesn't offer it unless u stay a week! One night (Friday) for $104.00 wasted $$. We should of drove on to Phoenix, however rooms were scarce because of a marathon in area. A very young couple came into office before us looking for room, owner told them he had none. Then we inquired availability as they walked out, owner says " oh I have one room left, I didn't want to rent to that other couple?" I guess we fit the part being Over 50! All older retirees there. This place is a 1950s motor hotel (motel) from the old school. It is not much to look at, although the owners have fixed the place up a lot and it has a new paint job. The rooms are large, comfortable, clean and they have a/c and heaters you can control; the water is hot, the shower works and the bathroom fixtures are fairly new. The rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator, freezer. You can get ice and a coffee maker at the office. There is no pool. The BEST part though, is the bed. The only motel or hotel that I have ever slept at that had a bed that was a good as the one here was at a Westin Hotel. Because of the cement block construction you aren't bothered by the rooms adjacent to yours. They have cable TV, not the best, but certainly not the worst I've used, get the local channels, and have excellent high speed wifi. The owner knows his market, and so if you are down there during the high season (October through March) you'll pay the going rate. But it won't be as expensive as some of the chains, and the room will be a lot better. (We stayed in a Motel 6 for several nights until a room opened up at this place which was closer to the people we were visiting. The motel 6 cost more and was awful, and the beds were not as comfortable.) Since the owner is the manager and onsite, any small problem is fixed immediately and they really do want to provide good service. BTW I read the review by the woman who didn't stay there, and the young man who tried to store his bicycle in his room. The owner is Indian. I found no problems talking with him or in his handling of the place and my stay. He is fussy, and frankly, that's a good thing. The room was non-smoking and it smelled fresh and clean. I think that if you have issues with people who do not speak English as well as you might, or with immigrants, then you should stay elsewhere. read more

I felt we'd stepped back in time. Really. The retro vibe of this place is genuine, not contrived. On our first visit to Apache Junction, we passed this motel by, in favor of a big chain motel down the road. Big mistake. The chain was over-priced and the usual bland schmuck. This time around, on a tighter budget, we decided to give it a try, and we loved it! Where else can you sit outside your room with a view of the mountains, a saguaro cactus alive with nesting birds, a pink block wall privacy wall straight out of the fifties, lined with chaise lounges - all for under $60/night? Better yet, the place is immaculate. Our room and bedding were very clean, the grounds very neatly kept. Our host was the best, always smiling and friendly. Have stayed here the past 5 years over Christmas. This is the first time I have had issues. I have terrible bites on my arms and went to an urgent care and the paperwork says bed bug bites. He had just kicked out my neighbors and said they brought them. When I showed him my paperwork, he said I brought them. He will not take any responsibility for the medical expense I incurred nor did he give me a discount . In fact he was a jerk. Have to disagree with the reviewer that rated this motel poorly. I received first class, polite help from the desk staff and the owner........who indeed seems to be of Indian (not Native American) descent. Rooms were super clean and I was happy to note that disinfectant had been used. TV was clear, quiet place, dogs stay free under 15 pounds, and........I would not assume to put a bike in my room in the first place. Have been back there three times and find the entire area refreshing after stays all over Phoenix. Make sure you try some of the locally owned bars and grills. I was informed that if I leave the dog in the room alone I should hang out a Do Not Disturb sign in the morning as the maid walked in while I was at breakfast. No pool is a drawback. read more

Management was very helpful, they provided me with a 12 cup coffee maker and helped us find anything we asked for. Also, directed us to the best route to drive when returning to the airport. I liked this motel. The people were soooooo nice! It had all the amenities we could need for a stay. It happened there was no coffee pot, I went to ask if they had one, and they fell all over themselves apologizing that they were all out. Our room actually smelled like cigarettes despite the No Smoking policy there, which is why I didn't rate it higher. It was nice enough and convenient, and the staff was super nice. I was amazed to stumble on this little gem in downtown Apache Junction when I needed a place to land for a bit. Great WiFi, location near everything, and the nicest management on the planet! This establishment is in perfect shape and the proprietor is first rate. All over the country these older format motels are falling into disrepair. This is one that has been restored to a pristine state; a complete restoration to the highest basic standards. The owner was an absolute delight who accommodated me with a reasonable rate even though there was a big event which left almost all of the available rooms in the area booked. He could have gouged me but he chose to make me a more than reasonable rate. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

Stayed here in March and now again we are going back in April. The management is very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are very clean and fully equipped. It is a no frills motel so if you want a 5 star hotel not for you. The beds are so very comfortable and new. Smoking is permitted outside of the room but not in the room. Chairs are also available to sit out in the front of the rooms. Location is wonderful. Definitely recommend if you do not need a fancy place. read more
